Okay so I don't have a xoom but I have the g slate no forum for that right now so I'm posting this here. The free amazon app of the day is text plus and its better than google voice to text. It pops up on your screen with a reply box has push notifications and sends your text plus number to your facebook friends or your gmail contacts. I just got it on my g slate and I'm texting my vibrant it seems to be working great and its free so why not try it out right?
Anyways its in the amazon market today for free so go get it and try it out.

Not sure what those apps do because I've never used them but this app gives you a phone number and allows you to text as if your tablet was a phone so its not I'm its text and it has a pop-up notification when you recieve a text. So basically it feels a lot like a native text application. Rather then an instant messaging client

So you can call that number from land line as well?

No, it gives you a number and you text as if that was your actual tablet number.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
meh.. useless in that case... hard enough for me to get my friends to test to my gv instead og my voice number... having a different number for my tablet sounds very confusing.
If your friends are that lazy I feel bad for them. It's really simple to add a contact to an existing one and text that number if you don't get a response from the phone number

ESPN: Free ESPN Alerts are no longer available on Sprint, Boost, Virgin and Nextel. Please visit http://espn.com/alerts for a list of alternate carriers.
What the hell?!

I know, this is ridiculous! I can't believe this is happening. I rely on this service so much I would pay for it monthly. Any good alternatives?

Really sucks, do you know of any other apps or great sports news feeds/alerts?
I suppose the ESPN score center widget should still work... but the messages were always more reliable

According to this article, Sprint is charging the content providers, i.e. ESPN, Yahoo, etc. more per message sent. They aren't doing anything to the individual users
Think I could use a Google talk text number for ESPN mobile messages??

Yeah, use the app instead of your browser. App will say android, browser will say mobile.

My app still says via android... if your going into view profile that puts you through the browser... other than that I would reinstall it. Unless it is different for the nexus

LOL... who cares?
This version of facebook is really ****ed up because:
it always lists messages in "most popular" instead of "lastest news"
this version doesn't display messages from other posters
I finally gave up using app and use browser instead.
Omg this is so frustrating

Clearly it is defective. Return it to your local Sprint store. I understand this is a widespread and well known issue that is covered by warranty.

hey guys, I've been hearing from some people that you can send text msgs from the nexus 7, which would be cool to have.
I downloaded GO SMS, and I entered my information and what not, and then it asks me to bind my mobile phone number, but everytime i do, it says verification failed. how the hell do I bind it? has anyone had this problem before?
download tablet talk from playstore..it should help

Word of warning, it will stop working after 14 days unless you pay for it $3.99 for a year. At first I thought it was a steep price to pay but it really is worth it since both devices do not need to be on the same network. For example your phone can be connected by 3g and the N7 by wifi and it will still work.

I'm looking for a texting app that's good with MMS emojis for like the iPhone where I phones can read. A pop-up notification for texting back quickly? Any suggestions I'm open for pricing, it doesn't matter?

Go SMS or Chomp SMS will work. Both free on the Play store.
