T-mobile sent me a text this morning about a major update.... I fell for it! Once installed it try's to prevent custom ROM installs. I was unable to back to energy ROM see attatched pic
Didn't it just wipe your HSPL? Did you try and run HSPL3 again?
Boot loader still displays HSPL but will give it a shot. bastards!
Thanks
I don't know if the T-Mobile version use the same SPL version as the Europe/Asian on (SPL 3.03)
But if this is the case, there isn't a HSPL version who is compatible with the new SPL 3.03 version jet.
So don't use HSPL, and remove HSPL before installation of this Rom!!!
You are using a wrong CustomRUU Flashing utility.
Use the one specific for HD2.
Removed HSPL and re-applied before I saw post about incompatibility... yep does not work... no custom ROM for me for a while looks like

I am using the one that worked last night and is packaged with Energy... so if you have any suggestions on which one you might be reffering to would be much appreciated.
If you have removed HSPL, and you will install a custom Rom use the SSPL procedure to install custom Rom.
Like I mentioned before I can't test it fore you (Belgium device) but on the European version I can get custom Rom on this way! (by using SPL 3.03)
Hope this can help you out.

Try with attached and let us know.
Also, try to post a screenshot of your boot screen. It may help for some solution.
I had no issues installing the T-Mobile rom, running Task29 and then flashing radio 2.15.50 and CleanEx Ultra custom rom.
I did this all via USB cable
CustomRUU same issue.. nothing new. here is my boot loader... BootloaderNew is the new Bootloader after installing new T-Mobile update

Try HSPL3, & select to update to 2.08HSPL from scroll down list.
It may take longer but should work.
If no, then you may need to use SD card flashing method with your original regional ROM.

I installed the update just fine. This is the official T-mob US update 3.14.531.1 with radio 2.15.x.x from here: http://support.t-mobile.com/doc/tm54430.xml?
you will be asked for your IMEI identifier.

I can update just fine, but it's going back to custom that is the issue... I am able to go clean ultra but not back to Energy... hmmm
Seems to be 100 percent isolated to Energy ROM... Core Cell Evo and Clean EX both flash perfectly

Have you tried an older Energy Rom it may just be the particular build on the one you are trying to use .
Wuttup guys! Its been a while since I used winmo, I put a nand rom on my boys hd2 and it was great for a month or so. Now the screen is white on boot. Bootloader comes up so im assuming its not bricked. Don't have a pc to check things out for now. Any ideas what's going on? Im pretty knowledgeable of android and various devices. Thanks for any help you can give me! (thanks button hint hint)

So... are you flashing a windows mobile rom, or an android rom, or are you not flashing at all and this is a random problem... I would check the Radio and HSPL versions are compatable with what you are flashing, if you are flashing.
Its a nand android rom. It ran completely fine for a month

Update...
I've gotten things to flash now but still have the wsod. Roms and radios won't flash, but hspl and mahldr 1.13 flashed. Although holding power only gets wsod anyways, doesn't access magldr. I'm determined to get this working...

What radio are you using?
2.08.50 but I can't see the tmo splashscreen to verify anyways. I tried flashing the complete stock rom from sd and it fails at about a quarter of the way through flashing the radio

Ok, so I got nrg's rom to flash from sd. I remember from my days of the tp2 and u had to do a battery pull after install from sd to reboot. In this case, hit the soft reset. Is this still the right procedure? Either way its still got wsod. Something interesting though when I pulled the phone apart... The void sticker was broken and the outer rim around the speaker was nicked. As if its been taken apart b4. My boy bought it used so considering its flashing now, I can deduce that its a hardware issue and hes sol

Update your radio. To at least 2.12 or higher. I'm using 2.15.50.14 thats pretty much everybody uses.
I second that, I'm more fan of 2.12, which consumes less Battery

oh, and also, NEVER flash a radio 2.x.51.x, or you are totally screwed

Also have a similar problem. I was running magldr 1.12 with a nand droid build and I had HSPl 2.08 and radio 2.15.50.14. Now I think magldr crashed and now the phone boots into a white screen. I can get the tri-colour bootloader but when I try and flash a stock wm6.5 rom through USB I get a communications error. Any ideas or input would be much appreciated
My phone was also getting in to the tri-colour screen, but after that a white screen.
Couldnt get rid of it, not even by installing a WM6.5 official rom, or doing a task29 .. or anything that would help me fix it. (any radio etc etc)
Brought it back for repair and they replaced my screen, working great again.
Pretty weird cause u can get in the tri-colour screen, wich would mean there should nothing be wrong with the screen itselfe
Yea I can't flash a radio, it hangs at about 20% progress with an sd flash, then fails

Hey pips =],
I want to update my HTC HD2 (europe version) to MAGDLR 1.13, since I got 1.10 and I need to update it because I want to get a newer NAND Android ROM.
I can't get into WM 'cause it was deleted, so I can't get to Active sync..
Should I get to bootloader (3 colors one) and then update?
Can I have a manual about it? XD
Thanks folks =]

Enter bootloader (hold down vol down) then run the update. This way you do not need WinMo. Then, run the 'RomUpdateUtility'. The process is similar to how we used to flash new WinMo ROMS.
Hope this helps
Thanks man, gonna get a better ROM soon thanks to you =]

Is hspl 2.08?
Try to flash winmo 1.66 stock rom(to erase magldr and android).
Then flash magldr 1.13(or the latest one, as i am not shure whether 1.13 is the latest) and you can start installing your winphone7.

All you need to do is flash MAGLDR 1.13 via SD card. It you flash MAGLDR with a .nbh file, so you can flash it via SD card justlike a radio or ROM. Just extract the zip file for MAGLDR, then open the files it extracts. Copy the magldr.nbh file to your SD card and then rename the copied file to leoimg.nbh. Then put your HD2 into bootloader and when you see search bingo on the screen let go of theol volume down button. Then follow any on screen instructions.
Also do not flash that 1.66 ROM as the other post suggested as it will flash a x.xx.51.xx radio to your HD2. And as I can see you you are bound to have a T-Mobile HD2 from your country and carrier this would brick hour HD2. That was really bad advise I must say. The T-Mobile HD2 should never be flashed with any official ROMbesides a T-Mobile official ROM. Sorry jecustomsbut the TMOUS can not flash ROMs that are for the EU HD2 and can not flash all radio versions like the EU HD2.

Sorry, i forgot about the differences of eu hd2 and t-mobile hd2.
Would it be possible to flash t-mobile 1.66 original stock rom and then do my variant of flashing?
It means that any flashings whether radio or rom, t-mobile one has a bit more complicated procedures?

No because as far as I know T-Mobile never had a 1.66 ROM. The lowest ROM version they have is 2.01 wich was a test ROM I think. So you see the 1.66 ROM is a EU ROM. Plus even the test ROMs had radio versions 2.04.50.xx or 2.05.50.xx in them and they were used in regular HD2s also so they will brick a TMOUS HD2 as well. Us TMOUS owners have to be a lot more carful then you EU owners.

Title says it... pretty much just want to go Official without losing my apps and app data if possible. I'm using Ansers custom TANGO ROM atm. Just wondering if something bad could happen if I just plugged into ZUNE and updated.
Thanks in advanced.
Using Verizon TROPHY/Spark_W
Found the answer, you CAN NOT update this way, even if you remove hspl. So had to downgrade after removing hspl.
Sent from my mwp6985 using Board Express
Well, there are ways to update with HSPL installed using Zune.. but you need a rom that is closer to the OEM stock rom. If you had a 7720 rom, like DFT, you could attempt to update. The drivers and sys would update, but Internet Sharing would disappear, because the WIRELESS driver won't have the policies for Internet Sharing anymore... You might also loose parts of fullunlock of those files are overwrote by other files.
Having HSPL installed has nothing to do with the update failing. If an SPL update is pushed in a driver (and with the Verizon HTC drivers, it ALWAYS is), HSPL will prevent the OSPL from being flashed {if it did flash, you wouldn't like it.. trust me.. I made mine do it once using bad methods... not fun). It's as simple as the system build mismatch from my experience.
I really need to get my rom out the door soonish.
