i downloaded the miui 1.7.8 directly from rom manger and did all the right steps but phone would stop after the white mytouch 4g intro, i recovered the phone back but i would like to get miui working on my phone, could it be a corrupted file? i tried several times but same outcome, maybe someone here has a good file.

Try downloading it from your computer or the demonspeed miui rom.

New release of Miui should be posted on demonSPEED thread within the hour. If you want Miui then give it a try!

I recommend Cyanogen ROMs. By far my favorite. I used them on my Magic and not on my Glacier.

ya thats what im using now but im stuck on it ha ha i cant get back to my original rom.

You might lose root if you go back. Iced Glacier ROM is about the same as the stock ROM without all the TMo stuff. You might like it if you are already rooted.

cool thanks man downloading now.
I too tried a few before I kinda stumbled into ice by far the best most stable and fast rom I have tried didn't have any problems till I changed kernel's but once I started with the whole custom thing and trying for faster speed couldn't stop lol

if you are wanting the MySense back, all you have to do is download the file, store the MySense Nandroid backup on your SD card and flash it. You do not have to do everything else mentioned.
Oh ok what file would that be under and do I have to go to file manager or rom manger?

The Unlockr changed their "un root method", now they are telling people to do it via the PD15IMG variation.
Let me see if i still have the BONE STOCK Nandroid file they had @ home. I don't think i have it with me.
If i have it i'll upload it to my google docs and PM you the link for it. I don't want 9.2Million People accessing it.
If you cannot find the stock nandroid back up somewhere then you will have to do the pd15img restore and start from scratch.
Edit#2: I do have it, and i am uploading to my Google Docs as we speak, i'll shoot you a PM with instructions.

[bad] tried downloading a couple dif Rom one of evils and one from gr8 not new to flashing just have never seen this error before and just to pre answer some? Yes did a full wipe on iced 1.1.4 with gr8 kernel v2.2 again not new to flashing help any body plz??????

Try this.
Copy everything off of your sd card on to a computer. Then format the sd card. then copy what you need back and try and flash.
K ill try that allrrady have a backup made on laptop so won't be to hard trying to re-download one more time think that be the issue since I can't open or extract the zip on the PC so hate being limited to 5g's of download on T-Mobile.

Also, are you certain the file you downloaded is valid/complete? I've seen people post similar issues and it was just a bad .zip file. Easy test - double-click the .zip. You'll see if it's a legit file or not.

if you mean like Gingerbread mySense, i believe HTC/T-Mobile hasnt said anything. If you want gingerbread with regular Sense, a port if being worked on. If you want plain Google AOSP Gingerbread, try RoyalGinger, or CM7.
do u know will it be an OTA update for it?
Ya we will get it but that depends on HTC/TMo as they ha e to bolt it up with useless BS that none needs. This could be in months but why wait for that? We been had GB port in MT4G from months now? Look in to current CM7 project as we are using AOSP2.3.3 port now, mostly all use it.

NOTE: This is taking you have already rooted your phone with S-OFF.
First of all update your CWMR to 3.0.0.6 as in long run it will be better for you. Follow any of the single instruction bellow as Drew's is easiest which maybe better for you if it fails then try my is little complex but it will work.

Once you have done that now you are ready to download rom/gapp from the repository and flash it via recovery which you installed above.

NOTE: When you are downloading you can pick NB (Nightly Build) the higher the number the newest it is as you can see the date. Then download the GApp which is the Google Apps. If you don't know how to flash it once this is done post back ill give further instructions.

I just downloaded it 3 times and everytime I want to flash it, it says bad and aborted. I need this to finish installing things in my phone!!!!
Are you using ROM manager and clockworkmod?
Either you downloaded the wrong gapps version or the one you downloaded is currupt. Just redownload and make sure you're downloading the 20110307 gapps and reflash.

well, there is only one to download from cyanogen site. I know that there are even 4 different versions for cm6 but for cm7 there is only one, and I have downloaded 3 times from there and one from another site. There should be something else.

Yes to both.
Open rom manager. Click download rom. Click Google. Click the newest one. When its done let it restart and install.
If you want to do it manually... it will be on your SD card under
/sdcard/clockworkmod/download/goo-inside.me
To do it manually just flash the zip from recovery.

Hmm... as I stated in another thread, it seems it was an issue with the microSD... Installing other apps now...
But thanks to everyone... I'll keep posting my progress.
Tried everything for mt4g, used ext4 wipe, flashed pyramid3d a million times always reboots during kernal install and the loading bar goes over limit
I've been trying for days
Any help?

It just restarts in the middle of installation and gets stuck at the mytouch screen

The updater-script probably has a reboot command. Let it reboot and freeze, then reseat the battery. Hold Vol down and press power to boot into bootloader. Then boot into recovery and flash the first time kernel.

But now I've run into another problem
My USB wont work
I plug it in and get nothing
Only when i go into the recovery menu then it works
I noticed he dropped a newer version than the one posted in the OP of that thread on Oct 28. Try that one maybe? Have you read the entire thread. Most of the time people post fixes as they're found.

Well, I have no idea then. Are you using the first time kernel or something else? The idea of the first time kernel is to get over some roadblocks and allow you to then flash a kernel designed for daily use.
