Cyanogen Mod 7.1 RC1 update - myTouch 3G Slide General

I've noticed a bug possibly, after updating to the latest cyan mod, my dialer storage has taken up memory through the roof, gtalk doesn't even open for example.. I have to move a lot of apps to sd(which I use for widgets) or end up having to delete some to free space n it keeps growing (it won't let me erase data when I go to manage apps) anyone else exp this? Know a fix?

New Market App Issue? - Nevermind

I am using DL DesireZ v2.6 on a TMOUS HD2. Not sure if it is related. I been using it for a few days now. Yesterday, I notice a updated of Market App was automatically installed when I open Market.
Two things I notice is
1. my Edge/3G/Mobile data Icon appear when ever I open Market App and won't go away until I reboot. I am set to Wifi-only when first configure and don't even subscribe to a data plan. My mobile data is always disabled (never turn on, checked few times and enable and disable it). Doesn't look like it was sending data though, I still get network error if I disable wifi unless I enable Mobile Data.
2. I am not able to install XDA Developers Official App.
Not a big deal, but I am try to figure out if this is related to this build only. Has anyone else notice this? Was the Market App updated Yesterday. (Jan 19,2011)?
I was able to install XDA Apps this morning??!!
So the only problem is why the Mobile Data Icon show up?
answered my own question.
Looks to be dangling ICON issue. I had another ICON (GPS) did the same thing. so it would appear other than the mis-informative ICONS, there is no issue. Maybe a bug in the custom framework it uses. It's strange the new Market App is able to reproduce the issue on my HD2 consistently.

[Q] How to stop all downloads on Gingerbread?

Hi, I'm using android Gingerbread (SD) and was downloading some apps from the market when my phone ran out of battery. Now when I reboot there is a constant notification in the notification bar which says that my download is in progress, but the progress bar doesn't move, and I don't know how to get rid of it. Even tried rebooting, but it doesn't change
Go to Market and uninstall those apps and then install it again. If the apps already installed but the Market is still saying it's in downloading progress, then download Easy Uninstaller to uninstall it and then install the apps from the Market.
I went to the market and it shows the apps on 'My Apps' as Free (as opposed to installed, like the rest of the apps). Oddly though, I only tried to download 3 apps, but in the notification bar it shows the apps I was trying to download 'and 8 more' ?!
Anything that you downloaded from the Market will listed under My apps. Sometime the ROM that you installed have preloaded apps and the Market regconized that under My apps as well. Follow the steps on the above post if the Market got confused on the downloading/stuck/updating apps.
Try going into Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/Market and clear data and cache. Then it should stop constantly always downliading those apps.

I don't quite understand what you mean, but I've left wifi on for a while and it now has reduced the number from 8 to 6 apps to download. I have not got any notifications that they were installed but hopefully it will just clear all the downloads. Only problem is that if the screen turns off it stops downloading, so I have to leave the screen on.
Its in your phones settings under applications. That happens sometimes when ur phone dies with apps being downloaded. Just click on the things i said in the order i listed them and the downliading aops should go away instantly

New marketplace keeps re-populating updated apps

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with the new Market. 3.0.27?
When I go to update a few apps that need updating they will update, then an hour later or so they show up again in the list of apps under Marketplace that need updating.
It's like it re-populates itself. I updated Trulia, Chomp, & something else & it shows there is still an update when there actually isn't. Is there anyway to clear this, or is this some type of bug?
I've tried to update Chomp like 5x & it is still the same version & even shows it was updated. All of the sudden it shows up again in the Market as needing updated.
It's like the Market won't clear it as already being updated.
Does the same thing to me. Very annoying.

At least i'm not the only one
Haven't tried the info below your post though.
Odd deal though.
Mine stays like that even after I update apps, but goes away after a while.

I have .27 but it still has the problem of not showing all of my apps in the "my apps" section. I've tried to clear data & cache which did nothing. I never noticed this in the old Market but downgrading doesn't fix it either so i am back on the new 1... any1 know how to fix it?
So there seems to be a bug somewhere, but who knows where. Is there anyway to contact Google or post somewhere about this issue? Since you can't download it from the Marketplace (since it is the Marketplace) where do you post these bugs?
Mine still shows all 3 as updates. Also too i've noticed that automatic updates sometimes unchecks itself. I'll look at the Chomp update & it is greyed out when I actually checked it.
All I know is that it is annoying & needs a fix So if anyone finds one, please let us know.
I actually never had that problem with the last Market so I assume it is the file.
No issues on stock froyo.

Does it with Go Launcher and Go SMS and it's pissing me off
I wonder if the ROM has anything to do with it or the version of the Android OS we are running.
I'm on 2.2.1
ACS 1.2
Genocide 2.0
That's what i'm running on mine.

IDK but I wish Google would fix it. I am running stock & have never rooted my device. I don't think I've seen the unchecking issue but it never has all my apps in the "my apps" section. Even when I did the last Maps update it was in there then I opened the market later & it was not in there. I can go to the app in the Market & on it's page it still shows as installed & set to autoupdate but never stays in the "my apps" section. I can see a few apps that stay in there like they should but most do not.
Thank God for Appbrain though otherwise updating apps or at least checking if apps had updates would be much more difficult
Did it to Facebook with me. That was the only time though.
Mine was doing this. Clearing data and cache from the app settings didn't solve it, but I used Titanium to detach the relevant apps from the market, then reattached with Titanium; it seems to have worked. I'm hoping this is just a temporary glitch that will get resolved.

I wish there was a fix for this now because I noticed that if you have an app that goes thru an update then the auto-update checkbox gets un-checked after you update. I noticed this with Friendcaster & Picasa Tool's latest updates

Can't uninstall/update apps in market

I have a g2 and some apps which have updates such as angry birds or facebook have no update or even uninstall button, just open, can I get some help? Thanks, ill post a picture of what I'm talking about in a second

So are you rooted?
If so, use something like Titanium Backup to wipe market data or do a cache wipe and reboot. That's how most market issues are fixed.
Unless they are pirated, I've noticed on the new market it will pick them up but you cannot manage them.
Apps preinstalled cannot be uninstalled (unless rooted). And the new market sometimes fails to show the update button, and will sometimes show an update even if there is none. Don't worry, it eventually works itself out. Google was supposedly pushing out a better version that is slightly less buggy.

I updated to the newest version manually and that fixed my problem.

These are what I uninstall*
Any music player that comes with the ROM
Any signed Market or Launcher or Browser (I use newest market, ADWex and Dolphin)
Gallery (I use QuickPic)
Google Voice.apk
Google Quicksearch
Pico TTS
SNSAccount
Any Keyboard (I use Better Keyboard)
Any extra apps the developer put in that I don't use.
*When I say uninstall, I actually pull them out of /system/app and put them in a folder on my SD card, so JIC I want them back for some reason, I can just replace them. Sometimes TBpro won't back up executable portion of the APK, so if you uninstall it, you cannot restore.
These are what I Freeze
Alarm & Clock
Calendar
Device Management
Facebook*
Gmail*
Google+*
Maps*
Any video player (I use Moboplayer and it by far the best out there)
* These four will run in the background whether you have widgets or not, so I freeze and when I need them, I defrost, use and re-freeze.
I freeze
- DSP Manager
- Music (Stock, come with ICS)
- Search
- Setup
Rider, what settings do you use with JD btw? I used to have it on my myTouch 3G Slide, saw some improvement, but instead just turned off data completely unless I needed it.

DELETE THE BLOAT!
Download Root Explorer (i'm not associated with) and go to System/App to remove a lot of the bloatware that came on the phone. I strongly encourage researching what can & can NOT be removed. ALWAYS make a backup. Alternatively, you can use Titanium Backup (free) to uninstall the apps (I only know Root Explorer, it never fails me). Remember, I am not responsible. It will be some time before we have a custom ROM that removes this crap for us.
Here is a list of apps I recently used to remove a lot of bloat (I kept AllShare and ThinkOffice). After you backup, delete, go to settings > Applications > Menu > Filter > Show All and delete the leftovers from the apps, little traces left behind.
In that thread I also saw you can delete data_tmo/games (73MB) if you do not play/deleted The Sims.
Here is a list from the JFD builds (most of these are seen in future versions):
First off all the Standard Apps:
AccountAndSync.apk/odex -> The app in the drawer, not the settings.
AddToHome.apk/odex
AudioPostcard.apk/odex
Avatar.apk/odex -> The app that launches Avatar in the video player.
BuddiesNow.apk/odex
Dlna.apk/odex [Allshare]
FlashPlugin.apk/odex
GoGo.apk/odex
Infoalarm.apk/odex [Daily Briefing]
KindleStub.apk/odex
Layer-samsung.apk/odex
MediaHub.apk/odex
Memo.apk/odex
Mini Diary.apk/odex
MobiTV.apk/odex
MyAccountStub_4-5-10.apk/odex
Myfiles.apk/odex
Sims3_Samsung_Embed_Launcher.apk/odex
slackerradio.apk/odex
Swype-Tips.apk/odex
Telenav.apk/odex
thinkdroid.apk/odex [ThinkFree Office]
vvm-signed.apk/odex -> T-Mobile Visual Voicemail [can be re-downloaded from the market. for some reason that version is the preferred one.]
VoiceRecorder.apk/odex
VoceDialer.apk/odex
Writeandgo.apk/odex
TouchwizWidgets:
Day.apk/odex
DualClock.apk/odex
SamsungWidget_Calenderclock.apk/odex
SamsungWidget_Feedandupdate.apk/odex
SamsungWidget_stockclock.apk/odex
SamsungWidget_Weatherclock.apk/odex
