Prl "00000"...uh oh...

After updating the first OTA(June),when I go to Settings, it tells me the PRL version is "00000" and when i connect to QPST,click "read from phone",it says "prefered roaming list receive failed".
i tried to use CDMA workshop,QXDM 2.08 ,QPST and "##PRL#" to upload the PRL,but when i go to settings,it still says the PRL version is "00000".Ah man, help me please

Can you just do *228 option 2, are you able to dial out?

i'm able to dial out but unable to 3G...
the PRL version is still '00000" after i did *228 option 2...

Try this PRL it's a SprintVZW hybrid PRL
Place it on your SD Card:
##788 pass 000000 then apply it
I didn't make the PRL but I am running it.

yes, it allows your phone to pick the best tower regardless if its VZW or Sprint.

I tried that prl and it put a flashing triangle over my signal bar. Is this normal?

Ok, explain how this will help someone who lives in a known low service area who is not rooted. I have to use a network extender to get minimal coverage.

Not quite. It allows the user to manually force their phone onto the Sprint network. It's not automatic and requires interaction from the user.

i tried to upload this prl,unfortunately it doesn't work...my phone still tells me "00000"...

hi! Were you able to fix the "00000" PRL issue? I am experiencing the same thing on my EVO 4G. My phone is always in roaming mode as a result.

For Incredible user stuck with 00000 PRL, you might want to try programming your phone instead of updating roaming. That is dial *228 and option 1 for program. It won't trash your settings, though I am not sure about root.
For the Sprint Evo user "hijacking the thread" , not sure what the Sprint alternative for programming is, but that is what I suggest.

were you guys able to get rid of the roaming problem with the plr stuck on 00000 I'm having this problem and I don't know what else to try thanks.

phone stuck on digital roaming. ##786# forces close unable to reset PRL version is "00000" and when the phone is connected to QPST,and tried to read from the device it says "prefered roaming list receive failed".
CDMA workshop,QXDM 2.08 ,QPST and "##PRL#" to upload the PRL does not work to upload prl to the phone I can't believe there is no way to fix this I now have two phones with the same problem. I really need some help on this one..

Try *228 option 1. Our just call verizon and ask them to make sure there is a default prl for your account

New here. PRL Downgrade for data roaming fix?

Sorry if this is easy to do im new and just got and rooted my evo yesterday. My data roaming isn't working i can make calls and stuff but not internet, i heard a prl update did this so can anyone show me how to downgrade prl? and anyone confirm a prl that works with data roaming? thanks

There are a couple things you could try. First, try calling Sprint and having them reset your profile on their end (don't let them talk you into a wipe and restore), that has fixed some of us in the past. There seems to be a periodic problem latching onto roaming of any sort. Also, have a look at this link for information on how to use the ##775# command to change to a different PRL.

I had the same problem with a different cause and fought with Sprint for almost a week over it.
What you need to do is call the sprint support number and have them "Reload the towers" for your account. This process adds your account back into the roaming tower system and in my case fixed the problem instantly.

[Q] PLZ PLZ help..3g and 4g issue

Hi there. Im on EB13 and not running any customs rums. I upgraded from DK28 using the samsung file from the samsung website. Ever since I went from DI18 to DK28 last month i keep dropping 3g or 4g signal. the problem still exists even when i upgraded to EB13. The interesting thing is that the phone shows I have 3g or 4g signal on the notification bar but im not able to load webpages or the market or use youtube (i get a "connection failed! try again" error). It'd be working for like 10 minutes and then disconnects. I have to toggle 3g/4g off and on and i will be back online for like another 10 minutes. This issue is really annoying since i used the web a lot. Is any body else experiencing this? does any one have a fix or can some at least direct me to a direction for a fix? thank y'all

Try to flash it with Odin that might be better I'm on my phone so I can't put a link up for u but search on here I'll find it good luck

thank you. i will give it a go but i doubt it will fix the problem. I have used odin several times before and besides the rotation issue that it causes (i know the fix to it) i like using it. But i have heard that the samsung update tool does the same thing as odin and it flashes everything prior to writing new files to the phone. It may just be a modem issue but again im a noob and i may just be talking out of my rear

Try removing the proxy settings off the data radio. On the dialer do this:
Get your MSL code first then
##data#
Edit
Others
Multimedia
Then change all proxy addresses to: 0.0.0.0 and the proxy ports to 0. Back out of the menus and reboot the phone.
Let me know how it goes.

Hey thanks. I had done this trick before and it didnt seem to help. I will do it again just to see if it makes a difference on EB13.

Did you figure anything out? You could always try to update your prl?

prevent ppl from streaming data all day. It will slow down the network a bit in some areas. But we are lucky. The thiefs over at verizon got a data cap to 5gb. We do aswell but sprint turns a blind eye just like tmobile.

I havent figured anything out yet. i had my data network turned off since morning and occasionally used 4g. I also changed the proxy settings to 0s again. I will know by the next day or so. btw. Thank u for your help, u had helped me once before also.

Epic stuck Roaming?

Hello,
My Epic is stuck roaming even after powering off and powering on and removing the battery, this is not a problem where im not getting signal because its the same everywhere i go, Wifi works fine and its the only way i can use my phone i just can't connect to the sprint network. Anyone have any suggestions on whats wrong with my phone?

Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > System Select
Try changing it to Sprint only and see if it works

Nope, then i dont get any signal @ all... Do u think a hard reset is in order?
Also how do u get rid of that sprint i.d. home screen... i Just want the stock android launcher

Are you on EC05? Give us a little more info on what and when this starting happening. Did you update from DI18 to EC05 and this started?

Im on EC05 but this started before i updated to EC05 by wifi... This started about a week ago when my sprint service was shut off on this phone (main line on family plan) cuz i forgot 2 pay the bill.. I've sense paid the bill but i cant connect to the sprint network, only roaming and wifi.
I Called sprint and spoke with tech support and spend a hour on the phone with a guy who had me do ALL the same things i already did before i called (try n update profile,prl,airplane mode,etc.) Even thou i told the guy i did all this he said " lets just try it 1 more time " Got frustrated and ended the call after he was having me do the same things over and over.

Since that is the case, i would take it to a Sprint repair store and have them look at it. You could always try ODIN back to DI18 and update to EC05 again and then updating your profile, but you shouldn't be always roaming if you are in a green area with sprint service.

As inconvenient as it might be, if I were you I'd try driving to where you know for sure you'd be on a different tower. I did that a couple times when I had signal issues and it cleared them up...even when I went back home to my local tower. I didn't do anything to the phone itself.
It was weird, but it worked.

Yeah i got u on that other guy, I was actually in Mexico 3 days ago from Arizona so i was actually in a different country and it was still roaming. And i actually get better sprint signal in Mexico then i do in my own house in Tucson,Az.
Im about 2 do a hard reset ill post back if it fixes the issue

Interesting. Hope you get it sorted.

I am also having the same problem. I spoke to several techs that wanted me to do a restore of my phone, but i refuse because I have 2 epic's and they're both having the same roaming problem. I will be taking both of mine to the sprint repair store today or tomorrow. I will let you know if they find anything.​

Root your phone and buy roam control from the market. That should change you back to sprint

What PRL does your phone info say?
I would try reloading the prl either by the update that fails all the time or with qpst.

Try to backup your stuff first then do ##786# to reset your phone
if that didn't work then try to use odin and install the firmare again but this time try to make sure you select ( Phone EFS Clear) which will restore your phone completely to stock then when it runs it should update profile by it self and will program your phone.

Have you used roam control?

Cannot recieve any updates

First, do you have to be on 3g to update PRL or Profile?
Second, I have not been able to update my PRL or Profile since I first switched to a EE03 beta rom, I tried MANY other roms since, I even tried ODINing back to stock EC05 like it was when I first bought it and I get nothing. The only thing I ever get is... could not be updated at this time "Unknown Error."
The one fix that involes changing the OMA DM settings did nothing for me and I couldnt really find anything else that would be helpful to me.
This is really frustrating and I do not want to take my phone back to sprint to have them give me a refurb as a replacement. Anyone have any ideas?

Try to odin back from stock again and you have to unroot before you can get the updates.

You should be able to update prl on any rom... I had the same issue, odin back to stock tried to update prl again it still didn't work so I brought it back to sprint... it failed some test they gave it, and then I got a refurb 2 days later

I wouldn't worry about it. Call it a blessing...load 11114 manually and enjoy being stuck on that PRL. It's a good thing.

I actually run the modified verizon PRL cause sprint sux in my area! I dont even know what updating your profile is but it sounds important so I am upset that I cant do it.

Updating the Profile updates the handshaking between your phone and Sprint. If you have no trouble making phone calls you are good. But if you can't update anything it is something programmed incorrectly on your phone. Take it to Sprint.

It uses the same data path as the PRL updates do...ever notice how the 3G or 1X icon disappear when doing a PRL or profile update? It commissions the data on the phone, sets up the AAA key, etc so your phone can connect to 3G and 1X data. If your data is already working then don't worry about it, contrary to belief Profile Updates will not make your internet speeds faster.

How do you run 11114 Manually?
