What do you guys think about it?
The pic from above is a render this is the actual device.

I think that actually looks pretty sweet. I don't like the lack of a search button, and there are some questionable protrusions on the sides of the phone lol. But I think the idea of a phone with a custom made ROM built in already is pretty awesome, and the specs are solid for sure.
What carrier is it for?

It lists quadband gsm-850, 900, 1800, and 1900 but doesn't list any 3G frequencies.

Phone looks decent but MIUI needs an app drawer... having all of the apps on the home screen seems like a step backwards.

LauncherPro and ADWLauncher run quite well on MIUI. I'm more focused on the awesome specs for the low price. 1.2gh dual core snapdragon and 854x480 resolution for $250 count me in!

I had already edited my post to reflect that, but thanks.
Not bad, I like it.
How is this related to the atrix??. Sorry, but I need to close this thread since it clutters the forum.

But if you really think about it, Chris is using ADW Launcher. You could get that from the market. I honestly don't think CM is a big deal anymore. The only feature I want is the trackball wake.
I already posted this video

If you think CM only adds a viable launcher you're crazy and haven't really dug into it.
Everytime I switch back to Google's offering of their OS I'm flabbergasted at how paltry and lean it is.
Did you even bother to read the changelog? UI changes are just a small part of what CM has to offer. There are plenty things "under the hood" that makes the phone way better than the ones running stock Froyo.

Are you calling me a fuktard for stating my opinion?
Yes I understand CM brings stuff to Android that I don't see. But UI wise its like any other rom.
ALSO cm for my touch 3g is a life saver. Im talking about a high end device like the nexus one

The android OS is so minimalist to begin with. Short of changing a few pngs here and there There's really very little reason to do so. The majority of the time on a smart phone is spent inside applications.
The benefits of CM are really all under hood stuff, and tweaks.

Either way, who cares? Who would honestly want to run that bloated piece of junk on a real phone? All other things aside, this should probably be in general.
I agree it should be. I apologize. Mods please move.
I'm willing to bet that it's an Iphone put into an HTC case...perhaps hooked up to the OEM HTC screen. Still a very clever hack if that's the case. But still not as impressive as porting the entire OS with everything working.
I'd certainly flash it and keep a nandroid of it to show off to my geek friends, but, I'd never use it.
Once again, it's incredibly doubtful that it is exactly what it seems to be, though I know it's far from impossible....just improbable.

Last time I checked, iOS isn't open source. You would need the source to compile it to run on an ARM processor. You guys are noobs.

Lol, I really like that dual screen, Once the device comes out in a few weeks, ill see.
Think that phone will ever be upgraded? Hah. Plus it is made by kyocera which IMO is worse than samsung, if that is possible.

No way, who would fall for this? According to the site:
Cons:
Not many android apps optimized for this phone, not very asthetically pleasing, no 4G, no Super AMOLED.
No 4G means no way its going to have a faster internet speed than the EPIC, EVO or EVO Shift.
No Super AMOLED... face it, Epic rocks
I don't think you'll get even a few positive comments on that phone here.
Well, not just here but anywhere people are allowed to post comments...
If you're not sure what I'm talking about, read the relevant comments on AndroidCentral, Engadget, Gizmodo, and other sites.
I heard there's already a hack in the works that will adjust the resolution of each screen so that you can wear shutter glasses and text in 3D!!!!!!

I would love to see that on my Atrix. Look at how fast it made that Droid!.

Yeah motoblur up until that sucks. This actually looks decent and seems quick.
I still have a Droid X my kids use for watching videos and playing games and I had to do a bunch of stuff to get gingerbread on it. Once done, Gingerbread is a well polished machine by comparison to previous versions. It adds the LITTLE THINGS that iPhone users tend to enjoy. I liked it and give it a big thumbs up.
my motoblur work like that...but......and with live wallpaper??? still fast or like a cheat?

oh boy they got 1700 on quadrant...
Wow... Can't wait for this. Blurified gingerbread seems nice. A lot better than the ugly stock theme from 2.1/2.2.
Made that DX scream.
:O i want it!
i made that Droid X fast on a single core processor imagine on our dual core!
i got to say one thing tho. the dock was kind of motoblurs trade mark. its 3 little green white and blue icons, now gone...
OH WELL LET ME HAVE THAT 2.3 MOTOBLUR!
lol
Does anyone know an expected date for release?

I didnt post what you quoted so I cant speak for him but I will elaborate, slightly. I have gingerbread CM7 on the Captivate and there are several things I like about it.
First and formost, and this is petty, the screen does the "crt monitor" screen on/off effect animation thingy. Its superficial, but awesome. There are several other interface changes that are an improvement imo.
Secondly, native wifi internet calling via SIP. It still takes some setting up and know how but you only have to read to learn.
Of course there are "speed" improvement like always.
Theres a Download (manager) app.
Finally, security. You probably read about that already.
I still love webtop, however with ICS I think it's going to change a bit. Since ICS is a combination of phone and tablet interfaces I think plugging in your phone to either the lapdock or a TV/monitor will go from the small phone to the larger tablet display.
I'd also like to see this on more phones as well.
Anyone have any thoughts or comments?
Webtop
While the idea is awesome, I think Mootoo will continually screw it up and keep it totally dependent on their architecture rendering it useless except for remedial work. Now if Google/Android were to pick this up and run with it, that would be a totally different story.

Gotta agree with you there. Why the hell do they feel the need to screw with what works? I have to wonder if they ever actually ask any users what they want at all.
I see no benefit whatsoever to the new interface/layout, just another thing to have to get used to. And yes, it is ugly.

It loads much much faster. The javascript is lighter. Yes definitely more ugly.
Odd idea but here goes. Has anyone thought of trying out androidx86 on the webtop?
Much like a custom debian/ubuntu install would work. I mean it's not just for x86 processors as they have a Tegra2 ICS build out now.
I unfortunately don't know enough to do this myself.
I'm gonna go read up on this androidx86 thing sounds very interesting
