putting avi files on nook? - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i want to play avi files on my nook. im using cm7 on a sd card. is there a directory i can drop them in?

In whatever folder u put them, just make sure that your video player app reads from this folder.

If your uSD has available space then you can put the avi there or you can put it in the eMMC /media, you should have at least 1GB if you have not used it for anything else.

I'd recommend the free Vital Player for playing .avi files on Android. You can store them anywhere you wish and just tell Vital Player where they are (or just browse to them)...

[Q] .dcf movie file?

I briefly had another phone that had a free movie on it (also a samsung galaxy phone) and i had made a copy of the movie, and would like to see if it plays on my epic, but not sure where to drop it in my folders? any advice?
drop it anywhere on ur sd card. Open the MyFiles app and find the file and click on it and if it is supported it should play it.

[Q] where to put video files and music files

im trying to put movie files on my 16gb card and were wanting to know were i put the video files so they work and misic files, ive also downloaded the htchd2 converter, but wanted to know, is it easier to place them on the sd card or use the converter. and how to place the music file so you can see the cover with the artist. please can somebody help! thanks:
My music is just in a folder on my storage card named "Music" & the sense player automatically finds it. I have the album cover in each albums folder & it's named "folder.jpg" & that pulls up for the cover art (same for WMP on the PC).
I'm guessing for videos you could probably put it in a folder named "Videos". If you use WMP on your phone you may have to have it update the library to find all the new files.

Videos Play Choppy.. Need Help!!!

i'm running a stock 6.5 unmodded and locked TMOUS hd2. when i first got the phone, videos ran smoothly. but weeks later, the videos became choppy. i dont know why. i turn off 3g, wifi, and set brightness to 20%. i also disable all tasks in the background. but videos still play choppy. why is this happening and what do i do to ply videos smoothly?
Are you playing the same video you played before, otherwise the problem might be with the file encoding. Moreover, try reinstalling the video player (if it's not the default Windows Media), or alternately, try another media player (like TCPMP).
If the video files are stored on your micro SD card and the SD card is old. It might benifit you to malefactors back up copy of your SD card on your computer and then reformat it using Fat 32. If reformatting does not help you then maybe thecplayer you are using is not such a good player to use with the video files you are experiencing problems with. The TCPMP player the other member posted above is a good player that supports a kids of video formats that the Manila and Windows Media Player do not. You can find the TCPMP layer her on XDA.

hey t-mag. i think its got to do with the video encoding. i say this cuz a couple of movies play smoothly off the sd card while a couple of others dont. so it could be a matter of re-encoding those movies that arent smooth.
as you know, i'm a newbie. when i go into file explorer and click to play a movie off my sd card, a program plays it in full screen by default. whats the name of this program? i know its not windows mobile media player.

That is the Manila video player, don't ask where you can find it on your HD2 as I never found it when I was running Win Mo, believe me I looked lol. If it is the encoding then re-encoding may just fix them. But like a I said in my last post the TCPMP player is great, I never found a video it would not play, and it has a full screen mode as well. If the file you are trying to play is a file in Windows Media format it will automatically open Windows Media Player to play the video and not the Manila player. You can open non Windows Media files to play with the Windows Media player by opening Windows Media Player and selecting open file then find the video you want and open it. Or you can go to freewarepcketpc.net and search foe file extension for Windows Mobile File Explorer. This is a add n for the defualt File explorer that adds the properties option and the open with option to File Explorer if you long press a file.

external SD, w/videos VLplayer

Im using the Vplayer. So I put a 16g micro SD card in my tablet, and I am putting movies from my PC on it. I read on here that I had to change the root folder in Vplayer to "/" instead of "sdcard". When I do it shows 6 different folders with ringtones, music, videos on internal card etc.
What i am wondering is there a way for you to have it just show the external sdcard? If not no biggy, just trying to make playing a movie for my kids a little easier. Thanks

Location on SD card for own movies for Oculus?

For the Oculus Gear VR, how can I see my own movies on the SD card? I assume I need to create a folder?
I have the same problem. I downloaded the Samsung VR Gallery app and that allows you to see your videos on the SDCard and play them.
Hi Guys, also had this problem.
What i figured out. Oculus for some reason cant find them on your SD card but can on you phone internal memory.
Just load your movies in the video folder, if you don't have one create it on your phone memory.
Guys,
Works fine for me on SD, so here is the file structure you need.
Create the folders on your SD as below
Oculus\360Videos
Oculus\360Photos
Oculus\Movies\My Videos
Oculus\Movies\My Videos\3D
Oculus\Multiscreen
Oculus\Trailers
Just dump your own videos in folder - Oculus\Movies\My Videos unless they are 3D, then put in folder - Oculus\Movies\My Videos\3D
All my movies are mp4 and work fine, but not sure what other formats are supported.
