Good info
Thanks.
I saved it for records
ill try it, but i was looking into something else.. im kind of close.
basically what i did was pull the mms.apk file from a rom
someone was using with boostmobile.
then i copied it into the zip file of the rom i initially want to use.
but the messaging app crashes and i figured its because im using
stock gingerbread and that rom was created in 2010.
so Im still looking
What changes were made to the mms.apk? Could you post this apk?

Ive tried removing the sprintpcs, could it be the donor phone that was used to set up the account? I read that, that may be the issue if the phone couldn't receive pics. Hmmmm

i used a rant, what'd you use? maybe nand bckup, titanium bkup apps, and then factory reset wipe, cache and dalvik cache and start fresh with rom install. Maybe your attempts to get mms has tweaked something? the only thing not working for me is voicemail notifications from stock voicemail app----- i hear it works with Kingdom Rom though.
If your donor provides 3g i'd be surprised if it didn't accept MMS.....try it after a clean install
i change my roms every week.
i didnt flash the phone myself had it done in atlanta.
its never came straight to phone.....i was showed to follow link after it was done. no idea what phone was used.
thanks for your help...i believe i will just wait until i upgrade the phone to something else to get it done properly.
No idea when thats going to be...i just made it to $45 a month with shrinkage

are you able to "update profile" and "prl update" ?
i was thinking maybe go sms program or apn settings/port might be conflicting and that a fresh install, then before restoring apps, setting up ##3282# then testing just to confirm.
i first had my evo on metropcs and mms wasn't working then, and it sucked. So I hope it works out for ya
oh yeah also- after editing in ##3282# hit menu >commit modifications then restart

I agree. If you are receiving mms messages from a 9000 number its because of your donor phone. I am using a incognito and a ppc-6700 as donor phones. The incognito receives direct picture mail but the ppc-6700 does not. PPC-6700 doesn't support mms messaging. The url is http://mm.myboostmobile.com not Http://mm.myboostmobile.sprintpcs.com

htc evo on boost mobile rooted rom, mms settings solution ##3282# not working,
I could not change the Sprint MMSC settings to mm.myboostmobile.com due to my ##3282# not working and my settings were grayed out in my stock messaging settings not allowing me to edit them. I tried qpst and cdma workshop and dfs and a couple other programs but none of them were any help. I finally used an app from the market APN backup and restore on a friends EVO first to create the backup file sent thE file to my email so I would have it, then used that file to restore my EVO settings and wallah its working wonderfully , I can send and receive picture mail without having to open download links , I have that backup file if I can find a way to share it with you I will .
Sure just upload it to drop box or any file share and add the link here

I am on T-Mobile, have used a half dozen different ROMS and have no problems with my MMS.
Your TMobile Data needs to be set on epc.tmobile.com
Then go to the SMS tab, all messages, menu MMS Options. Go to TMobile MMS Server, the server address needs to be as follows: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
Then select Connect via: T-Mobile Data
I have yet to have a problem sending a MMS using this.
try this one.
had tons of problems too, with custom roms. this cab fixed all of them. install after the auto sim configuration sets to tmobile. credit goes to the ChrisGrundy, maker of the timor tmobile 6.5 rom. also sets send recieve limits to 1000k, per current tmo limits.
(hopefully this isnt the same cab you already tried...)
edit:seems to only work with standard messaging program, previous post worked for me with manilla messaging app, but have to manually increase send/recieve size limit.
Thank you for that but im still not able to download a message or send.. it says that the notification is going to remain in the inbox... I guess i might have to switch roms which really sucks.. i really liked this one lol

The fix posted by benttwig (which I made myself) is supposed to be run after the HTC connection setup wizzard. Also, it's meant for use in the USA T-Mobile network.
Do those conditions apply to you?
I just now tried to run the fix after the connection setup wizard and it still does not work. I am sure im doing it correctly but its just not working for me.. I too have T-Mobile but I may be doing something wrong...

proper APN settings (like the ones listed on this thread) should fix MMS for most users. certain users will continue to receive blurry images and sometimes "failed to send message" errors...these people are the ones using builds with Sense.
MMS has ALWAYS been an issue on Sense ports. i have tried numerous sense/desire ROMs on my nexus one and MMS never functioned properly. stock 2.1/2.2 never gave any serious problems, just sense so a fix will take much more than just APN settings unfortunately.

This is correct. Sense builds suffer from the file compression that HTC messenger uses. At the present time there is not a fix that I am aware of.

in WinMo I always had a problem with most roms so i had to change settings from orignal to these (yes rhodium but it works like a charm)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\MMS\SP]
"UserAgent"="Rhodium-1.0/arcsoft-mmsua-5.0.0.xx"
"UAProfile"="http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/Rhodium-1.0.xml"
is there a way to change these profiles in Android? cuz the default ones always caused MMS to be way too small... I know those settings are for WinMo and this is Android but wondering if it was possible... Thanks

thanks for the info , question do you think if someone could maybe modify the MMS.apk to help with this
im not quite sure. paul over at modaco's android forum usually releases ROMs with a custom kitchen that was filled with options. one of the options was HTC messaging or stock messaging on the desire/sense ROMs. i always picked stock simply because MMS worked like a charm. im not sure if anyone can implement the same swap on any of the builds we are using.
Tried these settings and still can't get mms to work on a stock 2.2 froyo rom. No sense. I posted about it over in the rom thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8151277&postcount=2336 to see if maybe the problem does lie in the mms.apk also. I extracted the mms config.xml but dont know what to look for.

Anybody have the answer to the overly compressed MMS in sense?
I cannot seem to send any MMS messages with any Android rom I try. I have tried just about every different setting with no luck. Could this have anything to do with my windows based rom that's on the phone or does anyone have any ideas?
You need to program your carriers MMS APN. Google will serve you there. Apn is under settings, wireless and networks, apn when you see T-Mobile or whatever press menu, new apn and find android mms values for your carrier last entry should be mms and there shouldn't be any button to select new apn in the list.

Hi MrBox23, maybe you can give me a suggestion regarding mms apn problem.
I can receive a message that reports me I got a mms with a button to download it... the only way I found to download it is to remove the internet apn parameters and leave only the mms parameters.
Same thing for outgoing mms.
Is there any solution to this problem???
I searched around but with no success....
I don't know make sure apn is labeled mms mine coexist just fine mms has no button.
There needs to be two apns one for internet one for mms that's the way simple mobile is anyway tmobile should be same format idont know about att

Okay, for your lazy asses:
1. Have you checked/edited the dns settings in build.prop?
2. Have you checked/edited UA and WAP profiles in system/customize/mns/default.xml and system/etc/mm_property.conf?
Ok Im having the "Blurry MMS Pics" issue also. I new to some of this, But I did check the files you quoted above. I've changed the mm_property.conf file to reflect the NexusOne and Not Bravo as I've read but still no fix.
So upon reading the above post I checked the build.prop. Its showing : bravo still? Dont know if this makes a diff

jose makalolot YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!! The KEY to all of this is you HAVE to erase your cache :That is, go to settings>SD & Phone storage then do a factory reset. Or via magldr, Hold down power button until bootloader loads, go to services and wipe!.
If you are using CWM, you can do wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik-cache in advanced.
Thanks jose makalolot for all your help!!!!!!!!!!! My MMS is now working, not blurry!

Congratulations, you know something someone else doesn't.

How about you try being decent and help someone out?
Do you even know how many threads/posts include build.prop HD2, t-Mobile, DNS, etc. etc.
i had the same problem when i first installed android on nand was my apn settings. strangely i kept losing all connection when i used a froyo build but since then i've never experienced dropped connections anywhere except basements and such
i've had that problem. it's halfway fixed. i just can't download the mms messages.

FOR ANDROID 2.3-4.3
go to tinyurl.com/cricketpics on your phone.
download and install the cricket mms app to send and receive
IF THE ABOVE METHOD DONT WORK FOR ANDROID 2.3-4.2
go to mms.flashingtools.com & choose your android version
^^^^^NEWER METHOD^^^^^
OLDER METHOD
THIS IS A UNIVERSAL MMS CRICKET FIX...IT SHOULD WORK FOR MANY PHONES ON CRICKET!
I managed to find a temp mms solution for my Note 3 on Cricket wireless if you don't feel comfortable editing your build prop, or using root explorer yourself. YOU MUST HAVE TALK, TEXT, & WEB ON YOUR PHONE FOR THIS TO WORK!
This requires using two apps:
Chomp SMS to send mms(cant seem to get it to work on receiving)
Universal CKT app to receive which i provided (force closes when i try to send a mms not sure why)
First off make sure you disable any of your messaging apps "Auto Retrieve MMS" (i dont think it matters but I just have it that way)
Next: you will need to download chomp SMS from the Play store, once you install it open it and go under Settings>SMS & MMS Network Settings> go down to MMS Network Settings tab and click on APN Settings
Next step enter these exact settings:
MMSC: http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: wap.mycricket.com
MMS Port: 8080
After you've entered them go back, and go down to "Send Size Limit" and choose 300KB & below that check the box on Delivery Report (not mandatory but shows when they receive it)
Now download and install the Universal CKT App which i provided with any file manager
and open the Universal CKT App, go to settings and enable Auto Retrieve MMS (once again i dont think it matters but I just have it that way)
Now try sending a mms using Chomp SMS(sender app)
and use the Universal CKT app to receive or download it (receiver app)
If Chomp SMS failed to send make sure you are sending with your wifi turned off & double check you APN settings
IF FOR SOME REASON YOUR APN SETTINGS ARE NOT STICKING ON CHOMP SMS, ENTER THEM WITH YOUR WIFI DISABLED..AND ALWAYS DISABLE IT WHEN SENDING A MMS

hey this actually worked perfectly. The only "problem" I guess you can say is that now I have two messaging apps, the regular one and this one. Is there a way to replace the regular one with this one? Or can I just delete the regular one, which (I'm guessing) would force the cricket mms to act as the default app? Thanks in advance.

Anyone know why even with the correct APNs on the new cricket GSM network, MMS won't receive. 100% of the time. But when I send about 1/8 times the person I send it to receives the picture?

See if these APN settings help, they solved the problem for me.
What problem is this solving?
Wait a second, is this fix still needed now that Cricket is GSM and no longer CDMA?
Mine still sends fine on my Sprint note 3
