My Nexus S 4G won't charge through any of my chargers, AC, USB, or car. It's down to no battery life now, and when I plug it in it doesn't charge it boots the phone up for a moment then shuts down. I tried looking around but couldn't find anything on it. Has anyone else had this issue? Could it be a battery issue or my phone?

I suspect it is charging but perhaps not updating the charge percentage. After an hour the percetage ought to be fairly high - possibly full. I would disconect the usb charger or pc lead and then check level\of charge. Also remember it increases and decreases in 10% intervals - so you will never see figures in between e.g. 21..22..23 etc only 10...20...30 etc.

thanks, i will try it out tonite last night i turned off the phone to charge (well it died on me) so i charged it and let it be
Charging
Charging off USB takes much longer than off of AC. I usually charge off USB only to keep my phone "topped off" during the day at the office.
I was on holiday last week and used my HTC Magic 32b for navigation with a universal car charger. I noticed the battery was not charging so I disconnected the phone. Now the phone does not charge the battery any more and all leds are off. I have tested the battery, bought a new one and tested the USB charger and they are OK. It seems the phone is simply not charging the battery and gets very hot. The phone starts with an externally charged battery, but I have the impression the battery discharges quickly. Any idea what I can do myself?

Check the battery contacts.
I have the exact same issue, I can't get it to charge at all, the contacts look like they are fine so I don't know what else to do. It won't charge or turn on even when directly plugged in anymore with the battery in, and when the battery finally says it is charged, it depletes in maybe an hour.
Same with mine. No LEDs, battery does not charge, not even a new one. And it discharges quickly. Maybe there's a shortcircuit somewhere caused by a defective car charger.
Hey,
Anyone having the same issue ?
It's very strange because it happens somedays, someothers not at all.
Basically I plug the note to charge, it displays charging, but when I come back an hour later or so... the note is at 1% charge, like it just depleted itself and is just living out of juice sucked out of the charger...
This happens when I plug it in the wall charger most of the time.
When I plug it through USB on my computer (lower charging output) it never does this. And that's also how I managed to recharge my battery to 100% after the first time it did that.
But a week later, now it's the second time and it start to get annoying.
Anyone has any idea ? Is the charger defective or the battery ? Or worse the battery controler ? Anyone knows how to reset battery stats on the galaxy note ? Thanks.
I had the same problem on another type of phone with a usb charger
Would charge sometimes, sometimes not fully charge and then sometimes not at all.
Turned out to be the charger, just get another charger from somewhere
(I find the 10Watt/2.1amp IPad Apple chargers are good quality and provide heaps of juice for quick charging)
My 4200mAh multi-volt external battery is not charging my GS4, if anything the GS4 is trying to charge the external batt. The external batt charges my Nexus S with no problems. The charger even shuts down like its not attached to anything but the CM batt icon is spinning like its charging. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
There's a good chance it is trickle charging, and you are using power almost as fast as it is being replenished through the external batt.
The GS4 uses power faster than the Nexus S.
the output on the charger is 800mA @ 4.8V
I will turn the phone off and see what happens.. The odd thing is that the charger is turning off, like its not charging or the batt is dead.
So I have an trying to repair a first gen Nexus 7 that don't charge or turn on.. However this one is a little bit different from the other.
I pull the battery from another N7 (which I have previously changed the screen on, so no warranty anyway) and plug into the unit. The unit boot as normal.. I plug in charger after it booted up. and all is good and charging.. So the unit and charger plug is all working.
The weird part is that the dead battery does have a 3.4v charge in it. From experience this non charge issue only occur when there are absolute no charge left in the battery.. (0v).. but this one have 3.4v which should at least give power to boot a bit for charging.. so any suggestion? Or as I am thinking the battery could be dead? But why it is giving 3.4v?
