You're talking about the touchscreen sensitivity?
Never heard of any way to adjust it.
I'm sure the setting is some where deep in the code.
Tell her to get used to it.

You could always root it for her and put CM7 on it.
Its better than Sense anyway
Although I'm not sure I've ever seen a setting for touch screen sensitivity in CM7.
But I haven't looked for it either.

just give your mom 2 cans with 1 hole in each at the bottom and string! zero sensitivity issues and a waterhead can use it.

Neldar: I already had a look at the nexus s sources and there is no way documented to control the touchkey backlight.
So i need access to a nexus s to check if there is an undocumented way.

For anyone who is wondering about BLN this is the answer i got today from the dev himself.
Thus, if anyone is knowledgable enough to help him out in accessing things in the nexus S we may finally figure out if we can get it

I think so, because it requires you to flash a .zip, much like a rom, in addition to installing the apk.

BackLight Notifier/Notifications
Basically to get around the fact that the phone has no LED alert, BLN (originally for the Galaxy S, but the same problem arises with the Nexus S) uses the phone's capacitive buttons as notification lights, flashing them like a normal LED. This is different to NoLED (a software based solution), as it requires a bit of hacking, as most phones do not have a way to control the capacitive buttons by default.

BACK LIGHT NOTIFICATION. its a subsitution for not having LED notifications. its built into the kernel so we'll see the dev will work with someone experienced that owns a nexus s. i hope.
Couldn't one of the google employees that post here point him in the right direction?
I'm sure they have access to any information he might need. After all, they are the ones developing the operating system for the phone. It would be in the spirit of openess
any progress with BLN??

Lawlz I noticed. Still playing around with it.
I personally dig it, I notice no lag at all on mine.
Yeah, there is no lag whatsoever, even on the 3D wheel thingamajig. That part is pretty cool but just seems like a novelty to me. The potential for customization is rather limited here... I still need to play around with it but personally I can't see this replacing LauncherPro.

I'm very much on the same sentiment. Still toying with it, but it'd be a break every now and then, and yes, it is very smooth.

Every AT&T user by now probably knows about the "feature" that protects your touchscreen from constant touch input from a waterdrop, right?
For every one of us that looove using our phone while swimming *sigh*.
Know why they implemented it? To protect your phone? No. Because of lazy, poor and dumb "copy & paste" engineering work.
Moto devs copied this "feature" from Defy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOHxx3P-YdU&noredirect=1
Only thing they forgot is that the Atrix IS NOT a waterproof phone.
Cool story bro.
I feel so cool by saying that. But really if you think that any manufacture writes code from ASOP source from scratch for every phone you're nuts and it really doesn't surprise me at all.

I´m not saying that. Only saying that copying code that makes sense for waterproof phones for phones that are not waterproof is just plain lazy and stupid work.

the main question is- Can this damn thing be fixed???
I go swimming with mine all the time. I dont have any touch imput so i think this feature is great.

HipKat, i'm using the latest version of MIUI. Every time i fire iris up, it tells me "No Speech Input" (and actually, i can't use voice search or speech-to-text for this same reason)
Is there something i need to add to MIUI for speech input?

If its the rom, 'could' be AOSP, because I get the same message while on CM7, which is why I asked, and I do have Pico TTS installed already.
For people having problems, especially with the error "no speech input" be sure to install this:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.voicesearch&hl=en
install it and run iris, you will be all set.
