That is honestly epic win.
So what you're saying is that I don't have to buy a new phone in order for me to utilize this and that because it's more of a software enhancement, my hardware will support it? I'm confused.
P.S.

Give it some time. I grabbed it a few days ago and results are improving every day. Except the weather. It keeps telling me it's snowing out when it's 60 and sunny
HipKat, i'm using the latest version of MIUI. Every time i fire iris up, it tells me "No Speech Input" (and actually, i can't use voice search or speech-to-text for this same reason)
Is there something i need to add to MIUI for speech input?

If its the rom, 'could' be AOSP, because I get the same message while on CM7, which is why I asked, and I do have Pico TTS installed already.
For people having problems, especially with the error "no speech input" be sure to install this:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.voicesearch&hl=en
install it and run iris, you will be all set.

Yea I totally agree with you.
Another good keyboard is SwiftKey X. Their predictions and auto correct has gotten really good. I mean good to the point where I don't really look at what letters I'm typing and everything still comes out great. I am also disabled, i can only use one hand, so SwiftKey keyboard X really and i mean really helps me out. Before that typing was a chore, or at least it felt like it. Now it's just great.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
I've read few people talk about SwiftKey X.
I might have to give that a try, because I'm about tired of Swype, really. Words I've added to the dictionary still don't come up first, and I just get tired of for being fire, poor being pot, etc.....
Friggin' annoying
i applied for the touchpal beta like 2 days ago, and ive already heard back. supposedly its got FANTASTIC blind type style correction, AND phenomenal swyping. about to install right now!

my phone is rooted, & from what i read, when your fones rooted, it puts a program called super user on your phone which allows you access to apps regular phones cant & that those apps are free. & after reading the reviews on beautiful wigets ppl are saying that the programs weather is often wrong like it says sunny @ 2a.m. lol n that it sucks battery dry n slow fone down
have yu had problems out if it.
Guy, don't believe everything you read. I know this might come as a complete surprise but not everyone knows what they are doing with their phones and misinformation is spread constantly. Try it for yourself, if you don't like it, refund it in less than 24hrs.
Just because you rooted doesn't mean pay apps are free. Yes there are apps that need root to function properly that are free, as there are also ones that are not free.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I use beautiful widgets for my clock and weather and have seen no problems with it being correct. I also use LauncherPro, both of these together basically mimics EVO's Sense UI perfectly.

Superuser refers to the user's ability to access system functions. With android it essentially grants admin access allowing you to modify things usually 'off-limits' to standard users.
oh ok cool. what do you have in your superuser?

Basically the idea is just to let you access functions that are generally blocked by sprint or samsung. How you want to use it is up to you.

The BB Playbook will run android apps.... I'm so getting one that thing is sexy
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...k-to-run-Android-apps/articleshow/7473802.cms
RIM plans to integrate the technology with the PlayBook operating system, giving customers access to Android's more than 130,000 apps, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the effort isn't public. RIM, after looking outside the company, is developing the software internally and may have it ready in the second half, two people said.

Why waste thousands of dollars on trying to figure out how to run apk files, when you can simply install AOSP honeycomb, and have it look 1000x better.

I think this is great. I'm curious to see if it actually follows through and how they will put the Android market on it... that's my biggest question. Seems unlikely to have a device with two market places.

What makes you say RIMs OS is horrible? The new QNX based OS looks great. It's funny that you are a WebOS fan, and wouldn't be interested in the PlayBook. They are extremely similar in terms of UI.
I've only read great things about their new OS. If you have some articles saying otherwise, I'd be very interested to see it.

I certainly didn't switch TO android because it could do flash.
And I sold phones for a long time and no customer ever told me they chose android because of flash compatibility.
Also, I don't see how your flash comment has anything to do with the Skyvi app.

Some did, but they switched for the wrong reason. I'm sure google has a planned HTML5 or something along the lines better than flash for the impending future. To remove something 'crucial' and NOT have a plan to replace it, is asinine. I'm not worried at all.

I like Vlingo better
Other than asking my phone dumb stuff like "what is the meaning of life?" I do have any real need for Siri-like apps. Maybe if I used my phone while driving or something. What these apps need is an uncanny ability to answer any meaningless question I could come up with. That will sell me.

I honestly do not think their comparable.
Siri still has a + side to it, for example you can ask it something in any way you want to and it will reply, Google Now does not, yet anyways.
Anything else, Google Now has done better so far, organization, information, etc.
