Replacing 3g Modem - Adam General

Hello,
Notion ink deliveres me an adam with an wrong 3g Modem.
I've orderd an 2100/900 Mhz version and got an 1900/850 Mhz.
So i cant use UMTS in Germany
I have opened adam to indentify which card is inside. Its an Ericsson f3307.
On ebay i only get the 1900/850Mhz one. Each other is out of stock.
So i've tried f3507 but its not working correct.
Has anyone else replaced the card and know which ine is working?
Or does anyone know where i can get the f3307 2100/900 Mhz?
Thanks

Unlocking to enable orange

I have managed to unlock my sx 56 from at&t using xda's software. Great. Trouble is it only enabled me to use O2 in the UK, i then went to yorch.net and downloaded more software which enabled vodafone and O2. Better. But I was wondering how I could unlock it so all networks worked. Can anyone give me a hand?

What you'll find is that there were two versions of the XDA (AKA...). One which was sold in Europe and ran on 900 and 1800Mhz frequencies, and one which ran on 900 and 1900Mhz frequencies, and was sold in the US (SX56, MDA, etc).
You may or may not know that Orange UK runs solely on 1800Mhz (as does T-Mobile), and as such you'll find your version to be incompatible with these networks... Sorry.
Although this device is from the states, I have found the option of using it oat 900 gsm or 900 / 1800 gsm or solely 1800 gsm. Does this mean that I may be able to use orange ?

Although it might give you this option, I believe that the radio hardware inside it is designed only for 900/1900mhz. I guess you could try and put an Orange SIM in, in an area where you know there to be coverage, and see if it works. It is unlikely to work on Orange or T-Mobile.
Let us know either way, cheers
I have tried my sim in an area I know there to be coverage. It just comes up as no signal. Since going through the site I'm thinking of getting a serial cable and using manipulator although its a little ambiguous about whether this will work. One company reckons they can do it but if what you say is correct then they'll be waisting their time and my money.
It might be easier to swap providers!
Beini, if your phone is 900/1900 it will not work on Orange which is 1800.
O2 XDA RUNNING ON ORANGE NETWORK FINE NO CONNECT TO INTERNET

making sx56 or tmobile ppc phone work on 1800 mhz networks

Hi,
is it possible to make the sx56 or tmobile ppc phone (normally 900/1900) work on the european 1800 mhz networks as well :?:
Thank you
Yes, you need to change it in the bootloader. Just select the one that has got the band you need. Don't try to change it in the phone settings, or it won't work.
Are you sure ?
I tried what you mention and it does not connect to Telstra...
I am running a 6.25 radio and an 4.01.16 TMO rom with a 5.17 bootloader.
I tried both 900 stand alone and 900/1800 but it did not work.
Any other trick ?
Thanks,
Bob.
so, has anyone ever succeeded with activating the 1800 mhz?
It's all depending on the device type ... PW10A works only for 900/1800 ... and PW10B works only for 900/1900 .... don't try the impossible!!! ... or you may permanently damage the RSU part!!!
better to get XDA II ... it's tri-band
well, I'm planning to buy one on ebay. how can I make sure, which one it is. what should I ask the seller to look for?
Thanks
is 900/1900 not only in America ?
in that case you should ask the seller to look at his address
ok, my question is if it's possible to make the american version 900/1900 to work on 1800 mhz
most countries in EU have both 900 and 1800 support
here is a list not sure if its 100% uptodate though but i doubt people are limiting the support

Yes, only if the network supports 900 MHz
Zsilak, it will work on 900 but not on 1800.

i-mate Jam strange problem

Hi,
this is the first time im working with with pdas so im totally new in this area. I bought one i-mate Jam and im using ok with one card provider, yesterday i change for other provider and i dont understand why my pda cant get network with this new provider.. i try to make a manual search and no information. the pda is brand new and i also contact the provider to see if is not barred and all is 100% ok... can someone knows if this can be fixed or have any ideia about this?
regards
For sure your unit is SIM locked. There are threads on how to unlock. Please do a search.
the pda is not locked becouse acept card without any problems... the only problem is dont get network of one provider.
What are OS ROM and Radio ROM versions in your unit? If it's an old one try to upgrade to the latest. There are a number of ROM's available in the FTP
Try your new SIM in other phones and see if it works ok. Also try borrowing from friends SIM of the same provider as your new SIM as well as SIMs from other providers.
The magician is a tri-band device build in two flavors:
- 850, 1800, 1900mHz
- 900, 1800, 1900mHz
Could it be the one provider which doesn't work is operating on a non-supported band?
M
hi,
i flash this pda few hours ago and i still have the same problem.. i was looking in other sites and i found something about this problem.
Exact this models have to versions:
PM10A (900-1800-1900 mhz) and PM10C (850-1800-1900mhz) and the one that i have is PM10C. I have to find one way to convert it to PM10A so then i will be able to fix this problem.
When you find the way to change a PM10C to a PM10A or vice-versa you're the man! It's hardware specific & not build in the rom :-(
M
i know someone that can make this change but dont share with no one... i cant do a lot becouse i have only PM10c in hands and i dont have any PM10A to compare the boards.
I just did a search with the keyword "850" and there are 2 pages of threads about this. All threads confirm what what OLTP mentioned - the radio frequencies are set via hardware components and no software or hack can change it. In fact, "Reo" mentioned that he modified the hardware of his unit to make it into a 900/1800/1900 MHz unit.
The 850 and 1900 MHz frequencies are used in the USA, while the 900 and 1800 MHz frequencies are used in Asia, Australia and Europe. I'm pretty sure that your new SIM supports only the 900 MHz frequency. Ask your current provider or check their website to find out what frequency they use. If your provider supports only the 900 MHz, then your last resort is to change provider again.

The strangest problem of all

Back in december 2010, my i9000 worked just fine on froyo, with an provider that operates on 850 mhz for GSM and 2100 mhz for 3G. My work made me move to another provider which operates in 1800 mhz for GSM and 850 mhz for 3G. Also, my phone was great. Gingerbread came and, as everyone else, I made my update (and of course changed the bootloaders). The problem: I'm back to my old provider again (850/2100 mhz) and, as strange as it may seem, my phone can't connect to the gsm frequency (850) anymore! The 3G works with no problem. I've tested lots of modems, configurations, I have even returned to froyo, with no positive response. It seems like my phone has never had the gsm 850 mhz option. What has happened? Is it possible that my GSM frequencies have changed (by software?) Does the bootloader have anything to do with this? I'm just as confused as I can be! And I need my phone to work! Help me please!
Edit: DID IT!!!! I don´t know what was currupted, but I did a full format : SD,Sys,Data,Cache and after that I made a new ECLAIR (JM9) install and.... voillà....2G 850Mhz working again! Txs for the attention!

[Q] 900 UMTS problem

I am at wits end here....
After lugging one of these all the way to South Africa, I find that the phone refuses to connect on the UMTS 900 band. The phone is stated as having support for this WCDMA frequency, as can be seen on gsmarena as well as several other reputable sources. Do I possibly have a different physical radio? Or is it possible for me to overcome this problem by flashing a new radio? Lastly, has anyone ever managed to use this phone in a 900 UMTS environment?
Thanks in advance people!
