Stock camera issue - Droid X General

I am running my X with the stock camera and whenever I take a picture..... with the flash on ANY setting, on, off or auto all I get it a white flash.
Doesn't matter if its in a dark room or out in the shade of the late afternoon. I have tried indoors and outdoors under all sorts of conditions.
Never had a problem till I got the GB update.
Any suggestions????

SBF down to Froyo and see if the problem still occurs. If it does you know its a hardware issue.

2.2 UPDATE Camera issues NON-Root

Rather the lack of camera or video after the update. Just opens then closes really fast. I suppose a reset of some kind is next. Anyone else have / had this issue?
Cheers
can someone tell me why when you take self photos the screen looks smaller than before

this is because your not taking a picture that supports high resolution. it is only a vga camera that is 1.3 megapixel
when you look at the screen before you snap a self picture its smaller looking than the 2.1 rom
I ran into this issue after updating my phone to the HTC FroYo beta. I rebooted my phone and it began working again. I've have not had an issue since then.
My GF's phone was updated to final HTC FroYo 2.2 and ran into the same problem as well. A Reboot also fixed it.
I ran into this issue right after updating to the 2.2 beta. I found that it was the LED Light app that was "breaking" the camera. Uninstalled the app, soft reset, good to go.
Camera Resolution
My Camera dropped to 3m anyone have that problem?
I did a soft reset and voila everything is fine now. I also unistalled the LED app I was using then reinstalled it. No issues so far.
Cheers
what LED app are you using, I am also having this issue. It was working fine, then i rebooted, and now it just closes right away when opened, will be deleting all my LED apps for now.
Yep the LED Light widget (the one that looks like the sense widget) killed that and its working again. hopefully the author of the app can fix this. as thats a useful little widget.
yep, its the LED Light, the one that looks like a sense widget on/off switch.. uninstalled it and camera works fine, i didnt even have to reboot

[Q] Camera Flash Problem (fill effect)

I want to know if other people have the same problem. My phones camera has no fill effect. The little lightning bolt icon is to turn on flashlight but on my phone it works as an auto flash effect instead, so it doesnt stay on. This is just for taking pictures, when I record video, the flashlight stays on and it works fine. I bought my phone used and im wondering if its a hardware problem or programed to be like that. Is there anyway to fix this problem, like a CAB file installation, or a rom? I see that the UK hd2 has fill light and an auto, so my guess is that the USA version had the option removed due to the blinding double LEDs, but im not sure, it might just be my phone. Does anyone know?
Mine functions the same way. No fill. I think it's programmed that way. It does take nice pictures though...
Yea it takes real nice photos. Zoom could be better. Ive been trying to fix my flash for some time but i havent found any solutions yet, im hoping someone will reply with an answer.
Thats how its suppose to work. As referenced, FILL flash is used in bright overhead or back light situations to eliminate shadows on subjects. Thats why you have the Auto Flash, Flash On, No Flash. The auto mode will not flash if more then 40% of the metered area is bright enough. It would be great if someone could make a CAB. to turn the light on when you touched the screen to focus in dark situations.
That makes sense. But I think there might be a way to keep it on. Before i bought the phone 4 months ago i looked up some reviews and demonstrations on youtube and it seems that the UK hd2 had the flash on effect. He had an options that said flashlight on and when clicked the light stayed on, ill find the link later. It was the same lightning bolt icon. But at least now i know its not a hardware issue.

[Q] Extremely poor quality of camera when video chatting

I got an att lg g2 a few days ago with stocked firmware 80010d. Everything worked very well. I then flashed my cell to att 4.4.2 kitkat (80020c) with lg flash tool. The updating process should be successful because I strictly followed a video tutorial and everything is expected.
After flashing I realized that the picture quality of both front and back camera are very poor in some video chatting software (I used Wechat and Hangout). How poor it is? Most of the time my picture is totally black unless you put a light source in front of the camera (both front and back camera are experiencing the same thing). It seems the brightness level of the camera is set to its lowest value so everything is dark, and there is no way to adjust it in the video chatting software. (I do try to set the ISO and brightness to maximum level in camera app, but nothing is changed). Attachments show screen captures in Hangout with or without a light source in it.
Occasionally (it happened once when I had the phone fully charged), the brightness level is good, but the picture quality is extremely low. It seems the camera resolution is only 0.1MP instead of 2MP.
The camera itself works very well taking pictures or videos. It is only bad in video chatting. I searched hard on google but it seems my case is very rare. Is there some settings or adjustments I can do to fix this problem? I know my question is too long, Thank you for any advice.
Guess this is really rare. I will roll back to 10d and see what happens.
My wife's new LG G2 is doing the same thing and she is on stock kit Kat uprooted, came f e on AT&T on 10C, I'm using ClodyPro II on mine and mine works fine. Her problem is exactly like yours

So found a fix, just did it for my wife's G2 which as I said has the same issue, or had. I used the Flashtool to taker her back to 10d then I rooted, installed recovery, updated recovery, and flashed the 10d to 10c keep root and recovery in the AT&T G2 Dev Section, after I backed up first and preformed the install I immediately did a factory reset to wipe data, cache, and dalvik before I rebooted from recovery. Once it was set up, I tried hangouts and the camera looked just like mine, great!! Thought I'd share

lg g2 issue in wechat after kitkat update
Even i'm experiencing the same **** in with my g2 after kikat ota update..... pls anyone have a solution
I am also having the same issue. I use wechat and stock kitkat not rooted. I think it's happening to a lot of us, so it isn't rare. Is there a solution yet? If not, can we get together and maybe report it.
Thanks.

Camera Problems after Nougat Upgrade

Hi,
Upgraded to Nougat via OTA Sideload.
Works really well, except that all my pictures taken with my main camera are much too dark.
I also tried the Open Camera App, with the same results. Even if I turn the intensity up, it looks good in the screen, but as soon as the picture is taken, it is too dark again.
Anyone experienced similar things after upgrading to Nougat?

OnePlus 6T issues

Hello everyone,
this is my first post here on XDA, so I hope I'm following standards here.
I got my second OnePlus phone, the OnePlus 6T (Mirrorblack 8GB+128GB) about two weeks ago and it has really been an upgrade from my previous OnePlus 3. However I have had some issues that make the overall impression a bit worse.
My first problem is with the camera. When taking pictures with the flash it turns the flash one for a while then turns if off for a moment before turning it back on and taking the picture. This super annoying when you are posing with a couple of friends! This doesn't happend when using the front facing flash feature. Also when you take picture with Snapchat the camera also is super slow. However it's the inverse as enabling the flash makes the camera much faster. I'm not sure if it's an OnePlus issue or an Snapchat one, I know snapchat has lots of problems so could be on their end. I also know that I didn't have the issue on my OnePlus 3.
My second problem is one that have happend very rarely, two or three times yet. It's that sometimes when I start an app, it just crashes. And I can restart it how many times I want without any difference. Force stopping it does work sometimes as with clearing cache. But sometimes doing that makes the device reboot itself. Sometimes it just keeps on rebooting itself. The solution for it as it seems is to reboot it manually, but it's extremely annoying to have it happen. It's difficult to know whats wrong since it doesn't say anything useful really.
Does anyone else have similar issues? Could it be some corruption issue or some bad app I have installed?
Do a factory reset. As for the camera that's called a slow sync with the flash as its getting the picture ready and focused, that short flash at the end is to light the picture. If it stayed on the whole time it would blind you subject as its brighter than the front camera and would most likely give red eye.
I don't have a suggestion for your second problem as I have not experienced it but also about the camera thing you mentioned, it doesn't happen when you take a picture with the front with the fake flash because the front camera has a fixed focus so it doesn't have to acquire focus like the back camera does when lighting in a dim environment.

This happens for the following reason:
- first flash - phone usues auto focus to make you and your friends, dog, food or whatever you are shooting clear and the
- second flash - after it achieves the AF lock it flashes a little bit brighter to take the photo
If you use a digital camera, DSLR, or any other camera, you will notice that they have a led light that iluminates you in the dark, then uses the xenon flash to take the photo

If you take the picture in the dark it might just try to achieve AF lock. Activating the flash does that a little faster.

You can try reflashing Oxygen OS and see if this still happens. If it does sent it to warranty
