Anyone else having issues with Gallery taking up battery life if not force closed? Usual day: If opening a picture or the gallery app, battery life is terrible.. 12 hours use, 40% battery left or so.
If Gallery not used, or force closed right away: 12 hours use, 80% battery left.
This was introduced after updating to 2.3.3.
Any suggestions?
FYI, I've disabled the facebook sync with gallery, so that shouldn't (hopefully) be the cause.
Not an issue for anyone else?

Hey guys, i'm hoping you might be able to give me some help here. I'm not sure if this is the trigger but i just installed iSyncr to sync my music from itunes to the droid x. after it weas finished. I went to my (stock) camera app to show a friend some photos i took over the weekend. as we all know there is a little shortcut to the gallery in the bottom left side of the screen. I clicked on it(btw- it does show the most recent pc) but when the gallery opens it says "there are no pictures to display". I tried selecting the gallery from the app drawer and i get the same result. i thought it might have been that i have too much music on my SD so i removed all the whole music folder and uninstalled isyncr. but still having the same problem.
also, last night i received my miniHDMI cord and tried to view my pics on the TV. but got an error on the tv saying "NOT SUPPORTED" i dont think i have tried to look at my pics since then, so i guess that could be the culprit too.
Has anybody else had this problem? or know how i can fix it?
any help is appreciated.
Thank you
Hey
I just installed LeeDroid 1.7a and everything was fine. Also Gallery 3D.
But today when I tried to open the gallery and peek view an album nothing happened. It just did nothing like when you tried it on a 2.1 Gallery.
I have tried to install gallery3d, but 2 of the 3 APKs just say "Application not installed"
Does anyone have an idea what I can do to fix this?
I dont.
But I did notice that my gallery 3d shows all the pics pixellated when I pinchzoom so I ****ed it off.
Edit.. just found there's a new version out for Froyo, will try that in a bit
Am I really the only one with this problem?
I havne't done anything to the gallery, and then it stopped working with peek view.
Hello all. I'm not much of a developer myself but I know a decent amount about Android apps. I've been having trouble with Snapchat recently on my 6P. Lots of times, especially when on the actual camera page of Snapchat, the app is very unresponsive, it crashes, and it won't function or take pictures. I recently realized that this usually happens when Facebook Messenger is open and I try to use Snapchat at the same time. I suspect this is because Facebook Messenger keeps the camera open at all times and so does Snapchat (I believe that is well-known). I can't post the screenshot but the bottom menu bar of Messenger has a camera icon which instantly brings up an inline camera window for quickly taking and sending pictures. I can't confirm this because I'm not sure how to detect if an app has a lock on the camera but this is my theory. Has anyone else experienced this or possibly looked into it? Thanks guys.
I never recognized this because every time a app wants to use camera or sth like that i must allow it,
(but then its not a fast feature anymore ).
But im not really understand your problem, or is it necessary for you that both apps are running at the same time?
By the way, are you running stock or a rom? Rooted?

The problem is I often use both apps at the same time so this suspected camera lock problem slows my phone to a crawl and causes Snapchat to be unusable when I have FB Messenger running.
Hello,
I have disabled a bunch of packages using BK Disabler and now my gallery isn't working. If someone could look through my packages and possibly know what's stopping it I would be grateful.
Thanks.
Looks like you disabled the factory camera app (<string>com.sec.factory.camera</string>)
The camera app and gallery app seem to be intrinsically linked. I also played around with removing a load of Samsung apps (via root), and managed to break gallery.
I'm just having a 'stab' here, but that was the only thing that jumped out at me.
Out of interest, how is your phone performing? - Looks to me like you have removed quite a few critical system apps.

I found the problem. It wasn't 'com.sec.factory.camera' as that is a camera test thing, the camera is 'com.sec.android.app.camera'. It was CMHProvider.
The phone is performing great, my battery life has jumped to around 6 hours SOT.
It was CMHProvider indeed, who knew!
Thx Buddy!
Hi guys,
google photos freeze when I delete a picture or video while is open, I canĀ“t swipe photo, I have to go back. That happened with not every picture, especially with new picture or video.
I reinstallled google photos and install a new version from apkmirror, but nothing change.
Has anyone the same problem?
Am I the only one?
I wipe and reset the phone for other reasons, but Google photos still freezing when I delete an opened picture.

Hello,
Since Android 11 I have a similar issue.
When I take a pic and click on gallery menu (in the photo app, yeah I uninstalled OnePlus gallery), Google photo freeze a bit (like 1 or 2 sec) and there some glitches during 1 or 2 sec and after everything is ok.
Not a big deal but I didn't have this Issue with Android 10..
Also noticed some sporadically on A11....
