Please help me in this,
I tried too much but i failed to do it. So here is the problem, i have installed android froyo 2.2 on my htc hd2 leo. when ever i boot up my phone it starts with windows mobile and i have to always launch clrcad.exe and haret.exe to start android. Is there any way that i can start my phone directly with android.
give suggestion rather than the dual boot roms for htc hd2
u can set the ecceller to autoboot android ...or better u can just delete windows and install android in nand

pretty much. booting from the NAND is much better. i used to boot it off of the SD, but as tired of it booting to Windows first.

Boot from nand

Best way to boot directly to Android instead of windows and going to the extra steps. Is to ditch windows, and go NAND. Way better.

This maybe a stupid question but how do I remove android if i dun wan to use it?
I mean switching it back to Windows Mobile ...
Thanks.
i suppose you simply remove the android folder from your sd card and dont launch haret.exe anymore...
Hmm ... if i turn off my HD2 totally or mb battery flatted after heavy usage. When i boot the phone, it will go to Win Mo or Android?
Thanks. Cant search for this kind of question XD
it will boot windows. to run android you have to start haret.exe out of winmo... so far starting android on hd2 is a little bit like running a winmo application you can't flash it to the internal memory of your hd2 yet. so you can test android pretty much with very little risk. just check the faqs how to get started with android on your hd2
hehe .. thanks for the reply Now trying nexusoneHD2 android
Ok im new and nobody has written me back about this so i have to ask this way but i flashed to the energy rom and i want android on it, i dont know how to go from where im at to that as all the threads ive seen has said download this and that but i really dont kno how to get energy off to do that but when i hit the launch android button it says "CLRCAD.exe was not found on your storage card...proceeding to launch Haret anyway" ok then "Haret.exe was not found on your storage card..." so can any body help me get android???

Software is:

Firstly there are 2 ways of running Android, 1st via sd card and 2nd via NAND memory. The option you choose depends on whether or not you still want to use winmo. If so you need to use the sd card based Android builds. If you only want to use Android then you need to go the NAND based Android build approach.
As you mention running clrcad and haret I'm assuming you want to use the dual bot method, ie both winmo and Android. You will then need to device which Android build you want to try (from the Android SD dev forum) and carefully read the first few posts to see the dev's instructions, but in most cases you need to download and unzip the rom and copy the Android folder to the root of your sd card. In the NRG roms, clicking on the launch Android icon he includes in his build will run the clrcad and haret automatically and boot to Android.
thanx for your reply..thats the thing when i hit launch android it wont go...so when i copy the folder do i download everything even if it says its already on an if installed it might not work? thats where im lost
Try formatting the sd card completely so that there are no funnies on the card, copy the entire Android folder to the sd card root and you can ignore the warning about files that may not work etc.
ok ill give it a try
when you format your sd card will it erase the NRG rom and then you have to put it back on there?

ok just checkin..i want android on my sd card
ok i formatted my sd card then copied the android folder to it and it still did launch an when i clicked on the folder to run clrcad it didnt do anything an when i clicked the heret it just went to the htc screen and thats it...what did i do wrong??
Did you give it some time? I would ask the question in the thread for the actual rom you are using. Other users may have a solution for you.

Good, so you've formatted your sd card and copied the android build, clrcad and haret.exe files to the root....Tapping clrcad (to run) doesn't show any visible signs but its actually working in background, then tap haret...u should see haret loading up & a bunch of text briefly (depends d android build)...The htc screen u saw means d android build is working silently in d background so give it some time...check d android build's page for how long you should wait..(most tk abt 8-20mins, i use nand now so i'm not so sure).....if the above still doesn't work for you, then u should try using d various android/winmo dual-booting cab files out there...
P.S. Devs say its best u load up android within 3 secs of loading WinMo, so be as fast as u can...u could also try disabling htc sense to give a quicker loading time....If dat still doesn't work, then u might have to reflash an android-friendly WinMo ROM.
lol i dont think i gave it enough time..kinda impatient but i got it at the htc screen right now..im using the froyostone v4.0 build

Just go to sd development section, it should be on the 2nd page of that section. Try core evo v0.8 by sergio76 or evo carbon remix by motoman.
By the way, what sd card do you have? Model, make, size, class.

Hello everyone,
As far as I see, HD2 can run five different OSes: WM6.5, WP7, Android, Ubuntu and MeeGo.
Is it possible (under certain circumstances such as a huge SD card is required) to boot all these OSes on one device (just like my Macbook boots OSX 10.6, 10.7, Ubuntu and Windows)?
If it is, I'm definitely buying HD2 instead of iPhone 4.
Thanks,
~ Vladislav Korotnev
no, cos winmo and wp7 will only run from the nand, and you can only have one of them on nand at a time. Best option in my limited view would be forget wp7, put winmo on nand, and android, ubuntu and meego on sd card.
Four out of five aint bad.
Thanks for a fast reply.
That would be nice! But if I install WP7, I can get WM back on NAND anytime, right? Cool!
Yes, you can.

Hello again,
Sorry to bump this old thread, but i don't wanna clutter the forum with a lot of similar threads by the same author.
I've reviewed all the Android firmwares for HD2 i could find and decided to use Android from NAND.
Will i be able to boot ubuntu from an SD card via a bootloader from Android, not WinMo?
Also, could anyone please point me to a basic installation instruction for Android on HD2 in NAND?
Sorry to bother you.
Thanks
Glad to see you bought your HD2!
You can boot ubuntu from nand android using
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025499
Or debian from nand android
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029390
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095726
But to get USB host to work we have to wait for further developments.
Unfortunately Meego is not yet available on HD2 as stated in your first post.
However, TOP people are on the case, and things can change overnight.
ACA have a brand new nand android (other products are available!), check install instructions of your chosen build.
My HSPL is 3.03
Is it possible to have NANDroid on my HD2 or I am stuck with HaRET?
I have been watching the meego forum, did I miss something? Is it working now?

Not with that HSPL; flash HSPL3 and you should have 2.08 which should work perfectly. You flashed HSPL4 which is only better for certain Winmo roms. Use this.

HSPL4 is fine for him, it's just a newer version that can flash any SPL including 3.03, so he doesn't need HSPL3, he can use HSPL4 to flash 2.08

Ah, thanks. Either way, he needs to switch to 2.08; on that we're agreed. I actually just flashed hspl for the first time Friday, lol. My previous phone had it already on it but the replacement I got then didn't.
Actualy i think you can boot all 5, but you have to be very careful how you partition the sd card.
Am looking for SIMPLE boot chooser that can run in winmo 6.5 or as boot loader that can handle them all
sent from my htc hd2 leo, using xda premium app, because i can
the only good apple is in a pie !!!!
There is none that can load winmo or wp7 from sd so it is not possible. And meego isn't even released until now.
Hello,
Thanks for helping.
I think I'll never use Windows on it, so I installed HSPL2.08, MAGLDR, Clockwork and Cyanogenmod Typhoon.
I can't run ubuntu with it, so I'll wait for Ubuntu-HD2 v0.4 that will have MAGLDR SD support
Thanks
Cool it will be nice!

there are other ways to run unix from within android. you can try the hd2 toolbox app or start a vnc server from android and connect with a client to it. just try searching the forums and you will find something.

Oh, that's exactly what i need!
But the 2,5 GB linux.img that is included doesn't fit on my SD.
Could someone please provide a resized image? about 1Gb would be nice
sorry i can't help with that but maybe you should think about buyying a new sd-card if you haven't space for the image ^^ they are't that expensive.
is this possible?
I just sold my iphone 4 to try out the android system.
I am using the hd2 and want to have it rooted. preferably on 2.3.4
I have 2 macbooks and no pc's..
I've been reading around a LOT on google and have read around on this site but can't seem to find anything about mac...
Can i even do this with a mac?
I currently have a 2 gb sd card (i am going to get a larger one) that came with the phone i bought off craigslist.
I really need help as windows mobile is awful..
If I can be helped I can help out people in the future with their phones..
I know all about jailbreak, custom ios, unlocking, etc, even ios 5 beta and all but android is a TOTALLY different WORLD.
I need help please, the terminology and names of things are confusing me too...
I don't know what ROM is..
any help is appreciated!
-sorry if I missed a sticky somewhere or if this thread needs to be redirected.
It should work on a Mac, but I don't have one, so I could be wrong.
Essentially, what you need to do to get android on your phone is:
1. Flash HSPL
2. Flash a radio
3. Flash MAGLDR
4. Flash CWM
5. Install your preffered ROM
You can get HSPL here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966228
Radio here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
MAGLDR here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893618
And CWM here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
There is a good basic tutorial here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837
ROM stands for Read Only Memory, but in this case is used to refer to an android build that is installed on the phone.
MAGLDR and cLK are bootloaders, they load android.
CWM stands for ClockWorkMod Recovery, and it lets you back up and restore your phone, as well as lots of other nifty features.
Don't worry, I was new at this once (still am), it's really easy; and if you can't manage, that's what the forums are for.
Good luck!
Not that simple unfortunately. You won't have the drivers as far as I know they don't exist, you will need to run Windows as a virtual machine but I think you will lose the connection during the process..... could be fatal
Erm....... take a look at boot camp you need to create a bootcamp partition and install Windows in it, and then you can dualboot Windows and MAC OS
It would be easier to borrow a friends pc to hspl it and magldr and cwm
Once you have clockwork mod (cwm). You have the ability to install new roms directly from your SD card in the phone without it being connected to anything.
I'm sure there must be users in the hd2 section that have done it all via a MAC but I'm not one of them sorry
Edit/ if you know your way round ios you'll pick it up pretty easy the post above pretty much says it all

If you have a windows installer disk, use boot camp to dual boot, and then do all the stuff you need to do from the pinned tutorials.
was able to just paste stuff on an sd card from an old android 2.2 i had lying around my desktop. it works but won't let me connect to google server for my contacts..
I'm getting that I'm going to have to use a virtual machine though...
ehh,
that info about what everything is definitely is great though.. I will keep looking into this as I'm using a dated "firmware"

With SD Android, there is no way to boot straight into Android. For that you need NAND. You can, however get pretty close by using an automatic build loader (search in the forums for exceller bootloader/build loader or something like that) which will automate the process of running CLRCAD/HaReT and allow you to choose whether to boot Android or WinMo. You can set it to load Android after 3 seconds having booted into WinMo.
However, I would recommend using NAND Android if you are willing to do some research and have some free time.
thanks a lot and sorry for the late thanks
I am a newbie to HTC world but not to android as I have good experince in SGS I and II
I will install a nand version on the HD2 very soon and update you since we don't want to use windows anymore
ive got a android sd build on my phone and it boots straight into my android rom . i havent used winmo to boot into android for a long time now and i dont have nand,
when i turn my phone on it goes into mag and u get the go go go , and then boots into android , dont even see the winmo rom .
