[Q] Unrooted Acer now Wifi isnt working - Acer Iconia A500

I have an acer iconia tab a500 and I have been trying to update it to 3.1. After spending hours of research, I found out that maybe I have to replace the wpa_supplicant file and to do that I had to be rooted. I rooted my tablet and replaced the file. Tried updating and it still didnt work. So I unrooted the tablet and when I unrooted it, my wifi doesnt work. It just says error when I try to turn the Wifi on. I have done the factory reset and it still didnt fix it. I dont know what to do and I can install any applications on my tablet without wifi because I cant download astro file manager or anything to even install applications from the tablet...PLEASE HELP

[BUG] Market Apps failing to download after root.

Just started to have issues downloading apps from the market. Im on any connection and im connected to the internet but they fail right away with this message "Download Unsuccessful" ..........rooted too. Any Ideas?
*Edit*
I need some others to check this out
Last night I reset to factory defaults and after 1-2 downloads from the market everything after I tried to download fails, rooted. Then I flashed the stock firmware downloaded a couple apps no problem, rooted, couple more downloaded then FAIL! Not able to download until I do a factory reset, even than I can only get 1- maybe 2 downloaded.
I'm having trouble as well. I'm rooted, I posted yesterday but nobody replied. Can somebody out hedre try and install fring?
Rooted. And no problems.
Are you signed into Talk for authentication?
I had similar problem on my EVO yesterday as well.. So i don't think it's a phone issue...

I did a reset back to stock pulled down a couple apps then dead after that...CAn anyone pull apps off the market right now?
I was having major problems with apps, then I did a cache wipe and factory reset. Problem solved.
I was also restoring apps from mybackup pro, which may have caused the issue. The apps were backuped from my evo and restored on the epic.
Its a apk I removed just don't know which one :/
I take that back...I lost market functionality again and have not removed any files only rooted AM i the only one experiencing this?
I rooted (using the older line by line instructions, not the single automatic script) and have not had any problems with the market.
i rooted with the one click script and have been downloading apps with no problem, downloaded an update to gps status tonight on 3g and barcode scanner over wifi tonight.
Im having the same issue, I rooted so i can do free wifi tethering (hotspot) and now i cant even download the ****ing app to do so.....

[Q] Wifi not working Anywhere, v2.2 bld3.7, rooted

The oft obtaining net address then disconnect issue. Tried 5 diff hotspots with password (wep) or open networks and just loops.
Even the local library and no go so i know its a phone issue.
I uninstalled wifi tethering though i never used it, successfully that is.
More info i rooted using unrevoked prior to the froyo update, then installed the stock rom and updated ota then rooted again, still had titanium back up for certain items etc

No Internet after update! FIXED

I did the update this morning, but cannot get to the internet any longer. It says that it is connecting to the router, but I can't get to any websites nor the market.
When I did the update, I had several stock apps frozen using Titanium Backup. Also, I had a modified version of wpa_supplicant installed. I forgot to put the old wpa_supplicant back before I did the upgrade.
Otherwise, everything seems to work fine. The OS said that the upgrade was successful. Could someone post their wpa_supplicant after doing the upgrade and let me see if that is my problem? I'm open to any and all suggestions. I have tried pressing the reset button, but have not done the factory reset. That is going to be a last resort.
Thanks.
Never mind. I rebooted the router and that fixed the problem. Not update related after all.

Glad you found the problem! I was about to mention that I upgraded with the modified wpa_supplicant still in place also, and had no issues. At least root and wpa_supplicant aren't causing any update woes. ;-)
You didn't have any issues leaving apps Frozen? I need to read up on Titanium Backup to see how others are using it and figure out exactly what freezing does. I'm also debating on the function it has to backup to dropbox, but I'm not really sure how much that really benefits me.
This is my first android device and I'm definitely enjoying it.

[Q] Few Questions

Running ota ics
Wanted to install acer recovery from market, but *****ed about no root. Is this normal...? Do I need root to run acer recovery..?
Ran blackthunders ics 7.1 with the defult checks to get root
But still have no super user or busybox installed even though it is checked
Ran the unroot and it goes through the motions but does not change anything.
No says system updater has stoped. So I cleared data of system updater, still says system updater has stopped.
Also stuck at obtaining ip (reset) no fix.
Did I do it wrong, One click and I was screwed.
Also cmd box comes up adb server out of data.
Any ideas
Got fixed. Seems the 7.1 has no error checking when it roots and does it's thing, so with or without a connection it will run like its working whether or not its connected. And if you got a good connection and it drops during the rooting you won't know till you have a messed up tab.

LGD803 CyanogenMod 12.1 Issues

After restoring my phone to an old (Dec 2015) backup, I realized the internet would not connect. Or, I could connect but I didn't have internet access. After trying everything, I decided to boot into TWRP and do a factory wipe. When I rebooted it said I had a "storage issue" although I have 17GB free. Now it won't even let me install .APK files (I was trying to use a wifi fix app to help with the wifi issue.) Anyone able to help?
