Hi guys,
I'm new in this forum, I hope you can help me with this weird thing. Excuse me if my english isn't very good, I'm spanish. Thanks in advance!
My firmware is XWKF3, from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
When I do a factory reset, in factory reset log I can see something like:
installing multi-CSC
can't acces to '/system/csc/FOP/system'
Sucessfull applied multi-CSC
Should I worry about it?
I think that this message is relative to salescode, because Spain generic salescode is FOP, and previously to this version, when I had the Vodafone (Spain) firmware version, with CSC: KE2 (ATL), the message was something like: can't acces to '/system/csc/ATL/system'
Best regards
CSC is country specific code.
It says applied Multi CSC so unless problems dont worry .

Hi There. I had the same problem as I Flashed my Phone with XXKL1 and it contained Multi-CSC but I am in Canada with Bell so I should have Bell CSC applied, but after flashing the rom with Multi-CSC I started to get that problem so here was my fix to it:
1. Make sure your phone is rooted and Superuser and busybox installed. You will also need a root explorer such as ESFile Explorer or Root Explorer
2. Now install Root Explorer or ESFile Explorer with root permission enabled.
3. Now go back to download mode and Flash/Apply your CSC file.
4. Once it boots up let it do its thing. (You will still get that message but don't worry)
5. Now go to the RootExplorer or ES File Explorer and mount as R/W (Read-Write) and then go to "/system/csc" and rename your original CSC code for example if I am in Canada i have BMC for Bell, I will rename that to FOP and delete the rest of the CSC folders as I do not need them. (i did in my case to give me more system space as it would not write more if you do not have system space). If you want you can leave them in yours.
6. Now reboot your phone into Recovery Mode and let it do its thing you will see that message will disappear. Once its done that, Boot up your phone then go back to the fileExplorer or ESFIle Explorer "/system/csc" and rneame that renamed folder FOP back to your country code and done. You will also see that now you have many files in that directory and not just the folders.
Try it out and let me know. Good Luck
*2767*3855# and then boot into recovery and it sets itself to a CSC

Hello all,
first to all who will say I must read the forum for problem solving - I did but from all the info out there it was simply too much. So I decided to start a thread in the hope that somebody will be able to help me.
So I have a corrupted nv_data.bin in my /efs folder but I still have backup of this file. But only this file.... I know - totaly dumb... I installed new JPX and after trying to change the product code from KOR to MOT (Slovenia) I accidentaly deleted nv_data.bin. I of course tried to replace it thru Astro Mate (I did had rooted phone - Darky's 6.0 was working fine ) but everytime I tried copiing this file tt didn't copy actualy - It said copied but the old file remained there - I know this because the Productcode didn't change. So I deleted the file thinking that this will help and tried to copy again. To my bad luck it didn't. I tried to copy and everytime a new file was created instead. also renaming a bakup file in this folder was not succesfule - it said Fald to rename file nv_data.bak. Since then my SIM card is not recognized and when I check what Baseband version I have it it written Unknown. So I tried even with ADB Shell, use busybox and when I eneter cp /sdcard/nv_data.bin /efs it says Now enough free space??? So I don't know anymore what to do. Does somebody have an idea what I can try to solve this? Please please please? I will donate to the one who helps me saving my SGS.
Thanks,
Borut
Hi !
This is because the file is used by the system.
Safest method:
- Reboot into recovery (make sure you have root in recovery)
- do what do need to do in recovery
- Reboot in normal state
In recovery phone / baseband / RIL are not started.
so you mean when I boot in recovery i can copy the file using adb shell? Or how do you mean I can do what I must do?
I have done it before while the phone is on, but you have to enter flight mode, set the correct owner and rights and reboot afterwards.
Well, regarding ownership and stuff like that - I'm a tootal noob
Help please NV_Data.BIN
I know this isn't the place to post this but I have been trying since yesterday afternoon can't figure out where I should post it to I keep getting an error that due to spam I can't post to certain areas without having 10 posts.
Please help -
I am not sure what to do now. I changed the rom on my phone to put 2.2 on it a while back. I never saved any of the files because I was not aware to. Now I am trying to go back to stock already used the one click Odin program and I have the original stock firmware on it. But when I try to update via kies mini it will not show up. I have searched And found multiple postings related to the fact that the product id and imei could be incorrect and you would need the original nv_data.bin file. I have searched through windows explorer on the phone but can't seem to locate one. Is there any way that I can get a copy of the original folder for /efs/nv_data.bin and any other files that are needed?
I have the Samsung Captivate on AT&T currently running 2.1
BaseBand: I897UCJF6
Kernel Version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #2
Build number: ECLAIR
You need to check your IMEI matches your original .
You have stock rom stock as in not the network supplied firmware that came with the phone ..
Windows explore is no good you need something like root explorer .#
I can get a copy of the original folder for /efs/nv_data.bin and any other files that are needed? Not unless you saved them they are phone specific .
Worth doing a factory reset before you make any step as that may solve your problem .

how do I check the original imei? I didn't backup the files as I was not advised to in the information I found online at the time (couple months back). I have done a factory reset via the phone (privacy settings) a couple times now and still when I plug into kies it tells me Unregistered device.
This is very simple to fix if you have nv_data.bak in the EFS folder.
If that file is present then you can safely delete nv_data.bin and reboot the phone.
A new nv_data.bin will be generated.
how do i know if I have nv_data.bak? where on the phone would I find it and how?

It should be in the efs folder (unless you've done something to delete it). As said by JJEgan, you will need root explorer. Navigate to it in the efs folder and copy it to the external sd card and then keep it safe somewhere.
how do I check the original imei?
Its on the box and or with the receipt .

Hi Guys,
im wondering if anybody could help me.
There is a new Multi-CSC File existing which is updated and ready to use. This CSC is very important for all users who are hazzling with so called "Virtual Network Providers" which are located in many countries. (i.e. BOB in Austria)
as these people need to activate data roaming - this is very harming - now the new multi CSC is the solution!!
I see that all of that data is stored in cache.rfs and i can already extract/copy them.
But now i need to know what do i need all to extract, and how to pack it for flashing as a single file for odin.
This new Multi-CSC comes from stock firmware JPH/JPP/JP9
there is also an directory in system dir of cache.rfs called "T9DB" ...i think this could be deleted?
anyway.....there is nothing more in it .....so it would be able to flash the complete cache.rfs (tar it and make md5sum for odin compatibility)
just flashing complete cache.rfs is then without dangerous?
thanks for any hints!
furthermore i want to provide the new multi-csc as i think this could be very useful for us all.
thanks and regards,
You can use MagicISO or Poweriso to extract the new CSC from cache.rfs, and the T9DB I think that is the dictionary, and then read here:

Any help is appreciated
Does anyone have the CSC - I9000OXXJP9?
Hi all
I am looking for a multi csc file I can install on my Galaxy note N7000.
I installed 4.0.3 UK carphone warehouse ROM and the CSC file is ONLY CPW!
I have the 4.0.4 German ROM and have unpacked it:
cache.img
factoryfs.img
hidden.img
modem.bin
Sbl.bin
zImage
Any ideas on which one is the Multi CSC if it exists in this package I have?
Alternatively can anyone provide A DOWNLOAD LINK just for the CSC Multi file please?
Thanks
The cache.img contains the CSC(s).
I came across this thread - page 44 - Multi CSC for 4.0.4
So I downloaded and I copied the file to internal sd card, rebooting into clockwork recovery and installed the multi csc zip file.
Did the *#272*IMEI# and all the countries appeared - worked !!
Cheers

Be careful, I installed the 'EUR' setting and upon reboot the phones been wiped of all apps and settings - doh!! :crying::crying::crying:
I'm not sure if 'EUR' is the UK setting as the language upon boot up, visible was definitely not English!!
I think I should have chosen the 'XEU' setting instead ??
All the best.
Here's one I just extracted from N7000ZSLPF_N7000OZSLPF_OZS !!
:good::good:
None of the Multi CSC files above contain the 'XEU' setting !!
I'm going to try the CSC file from the N7000XXLRG_N7000DBTLRG_DBT 4.0.4 ROM !!
RE: SsZzliMm
How do I install just the 'cache.img' file on it's own ??
Using odin, but how because it's not a zip / tar file ??
Thanks

Use Odin or Mobile Odin mate.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Odin doesn't recognise it as the 'img. file !!
Also I could do with a Multi file that has the 'XEU' install setting !!
As the Multi's I've tried don't have the 'XEU' which from owning the S2, is the UK / Euro setting.
All I'm getting at the minute, is the Greek language.
I know I can change the language settings, thats not the point, I want UK language from the start.
i found a way change csc code without losing data, but it need more test with different roms
we will work in efs folder please stop if you dont know what is efs and how efs backup restore. maybe you can lose imei. you agree to do this at your very own risk !
for enabling wb-amr hd voice, before you need look inside customer.xml in /system/csc/(your country code)/system/csc/
(full country csc code list in there http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Csc)
<NbWbAmr>1</NbWbAmr>
<WbAmr>
<NetworkName>(your gsm provider)</NetworkName>
<WbAmrCodec>on</WbAmrCodec>
</WbAmr>
if you can see like that lines, can active hd voice for your country and your gsm provider.
if you cant see the lines and you are sure your gsm provider supports hd voice, you need modify file by manuel
let's start change csc code
before backup /efs folder.
change csc code in /efs/imei/mps_code.dat with currect csc code for your country.
delete /efs/nv_data.bin.md5 file and reboot phone.
nv_data.bin file will be re-build with your correct csc code.
that's all
sorry for my bad english. i'm learning it still
Tried the csc code change but it didn't work

check nv_data.bin file with hex editor
mine csc code was EUR . this fix deleted EUR code from nv_data.bin .
I think many of us who are using a n910t (t mobile) note 4 are looking for a method to run volte on their devices.
Here is the trick and it may work on other imported devices too.
REQUISITES:-
1. A rooted rom (Touch wiz) with multi csc.
(Those who are unaware of musti csc rom, can go for Ramrom...its a multicsc rom and perfectly working. If you want, you can try to install INU CSC on any other rom too.
2. INU CSC (drive.google.com/file/d/0B6jA0kmOqDu9aTF4dlFTZWNoOGM/view?usp=drivesdk)
Steps:-
1. Install a rooted rom with multiple csc ...Preferred is ram rom v9 (search xda for ramrom v9).
2.Open ES file explorer, grant root permissions (if not given already), go to /efs/imei/mps_code.dat, open it with text editor and change the pre wrtitten text to INU. Save it.
3. Go to system/csc folder, Look for INU folder,(if your are on ram rom, else link is given below, download from there), go to INU/system/csc folder. You will see 4 files here.
4.Copy all 4 files. Go back to system/csc folder, overwrite/replace the the 4 files present in this folder by the copied one.
5.Check the permissions of the copied files. It should be rw-r--r--
6. Reboot
Now under Apn settings, create a new apn:- Nae:- ims; apn: ims; protocol:ipv4/v6
Do not change anything else, Save it. However it will be not shown in apn names. So don't worry.
And jionet apn should be already present in the apn setting, and it must be selected.
Now remove battery,,,remove sim...wait for 10 secs. Restart.
Voila....You got volte...
I have provided a link for INU csc, you can download and try on other roms too.
Inu csc link

I tried this on N910C Exynos model. With you solution I am getting LTE only as additional option under network modes. but I am not getting VOLTE.
I have tried almost everything possible. Do you have any more ideas?
Will it work on lineage 14.1 is?
