Howdi all,
Uk euroxoomers.... may I ask anyone which has this on TM if they have received the 3.1 update yet?
Also, if im rooted and bootloader is unlocked do you think that Motorola sets it up so you can't update your Xoom?
Happy treking folks
I have a xoom on TM and I have not recieved 3.1. Mine is unrooted and locked as out came out the box so you have no need to fear as yet. I will post on the forums as soon as I do. I check daily.

Same here bud, check every day xd lol
Some people think im weird for having a tablet and a HTC Sensation lol
But i see a lot more of the forum guys have both xd
Because TM borrow Vodafones network, do you think TM will ever release software upgrades? Do they have the manpower to do that?

Its my understanding that the UK Xooms are all unlocked, with no carrier alterations. Therefore, the update should come directly from Moto themselves.

Would bell atrix would have same problem as At&t? Is it network problem or phone problem? Is anyone getting it when it comes to bell?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
It will be good on bell since they're not limited in terms of their speed, they have the hspda+ so you should be good to go. I'm thinking about switching from Rogers to bell to get the Atrix but might just get the Atrix outright later on as long as it gets the 2.3 update.
I hope the bell atrix is not branded.

You can always get a different battery cover.
I'm getting it when it comes out with Bell. March 17th is the only leaked date so far, hopefully it will hold (they're already teasing the Atrix officially on their website - "coming soon"). One thing I'm pretty sure of is that Bell will NOT block app installs from outside the market (unlike ATT). Not a huge problem anyway with the root. And I'm not too worried about limiting speeds, it's not the same situation as ATT. There's nothing that came out in the forums so far to keep me away from this beast, the biggest issues have been ATT-related (or user-related, such as the music player that stops playing... uh, how bout turning off auto-kill...), and the so-so camera.
Hi I was just wondering if anyone with a branded dhd from Vodafone has got this update yet in the u.k??
Cos apparently its rolling out on branded phones first but I been checking and checking but no sign tut, its been out for a while hasn't it? I did actually phone Vodafone to ask them but he didn't have a clue. Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. Still no update on my Vodafone branded DHD
Just my luck, get an unbranded phone for the first time and for the first time Vodafone branded phones get the update first lol.
Normally have to wait months for the branded phones to get updated with vodafone, although I suppose this has more to do with HTC than VF.

I'm not so sure that's true hawkwind
?? It just seems funny how people with branded dhd's ain't actually showing any update when they check?? Is it even rolling out in the u.k yet?? I thought we were one of the first lot to get it?

If it is would it be a big deal? I don't know how HTC phones work really, I've modded a evo once but that's it. I've been a Sammy user for 3 years.

Well... A month the first time. Then they updated the firmware and that took about 5 months to crack... Still can't root the latest update... I'd be willing to bet we'll be waiting a long time. But hey, maybe this device will get popular.

Don't know why people are suprised by this. They locked every htc in recent history and also the Dev version would be completely irrelevant if you could unlock the AT&T version.

Now that the phone has been out for a weekend by AT&T, is there any definitive proof that the AT&T one can still unlock the bootloader via HTC dev post 4/19?
Has anyone attempted it? Or are people receiving retail units with the bootloader locked?
i've been checking my phone twice a day since the release of 4.2 in taiwan, and now thw wait is finally over. do i need to back up my entire system or will my apps and settings remain after the update??

It's not ready, besides before it can be sent out to carrier branded models the carrier adds their bloat and approves the update. Ultimately making those who have carrier models wait longer
The Developer Edition obviously isn't branded so once it's ready the update will be released
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
Ultimately I think its good because it will get 4.3 dev ed out soon for the developers to use as a base for roms...
Won't help those of us that have Sprint devices as we'll have to wait for a Sprint version to come out but maybe the Verizon 4.2.2 can be used...
MG
HTC's US President also says that they want EVERY US model running 4.3 by September. Good news.
http://www.phonedog.com/2013/08/18/...ing-to-update-u-s-models-by-end-of-september/
Yey. ARHD Sense will definitely be running 4.3. Or maybe we can flash the RUU too. They still haven't given a RUU for 2.24 and I'm stuck with custom ROMS. ; -;

I always hear people say this. What does the carrier have to do with it? They don't change anything on the ROM except maybe some connection settings. All they have to do is make sure the new radio firmware still works on their network and approve it.
Or maybe things are done differently in the states. Here in Canada all HTC One's are like the Dev edition. I have never experienced this "carrier bloat"

Yeah US carriers do more extensive testing and stuff with these. I used to do device and update testing at a carrier and because US networks are crap and a hodgepodge of standards and what works in LA without many changes doesn't work as easily in NY without some network adjustments.
Then there is the carrier bloat issue that they want all their garbage on them and then that too has to be tested, etc...
No excuses as they take too long and load too much on devices, just explaining why it takes so long...
MG
So do you think USA will get 4.3 before Europe and Asia? If so would devs change their base or wait?

They perform quality control and testing. It's a VERY long and tedious engineering process trust me.
So not only does it run through HTC but also the carriers right after.

I definitely believe that areas outside the US will get it first. The only thing I want from AT&T is the firmware. All the software is virtually the same minus the fact our carriers overload it with bloat.
Glad I went S-Off on my Developer Edition and flashed the 3.06 already.
To all those saying "testing" is the reason 4.2.2 is delayed... why is it available for branded phones then? I don't understand why bloated versions have 4.2.2 already while the Developer Edition doesnt? They are essentially the same phone. If "testing" is the reason, why flashing 3.06 to my Developer Edition hasn't given me any problems?

Exactly... base Android 4.2.2 was a fix to a bad release. Its fairly common that although 4.2 brought some of the coolest new features it was buggy as hell and had some deeply ingrained issues. 4.2.1 & 4.2.2 were both bug fixes , with neither fixing the root issues.
I prefer they move to 4.3. For being a new release it is very very solid and a worthy stable release to launch KLP from. Similar to the 2.3.5-7 to 4.0 jump.

Yes. Here in the states these carriers are crazy. Especially Verizon. They're the top US carrier. They add like useless apps to your phone.
The issue is carriers want to make sure that the phone complies with what they want on their network. Their wants are pretty trivial. They're just expressing their power.
