Dear All,
I've tried over the last month or so to update my A500 from the above version to the 1.141.01 version and im coming across a brick wall.
When checking the recovery last_log the update suggests that i has failed because "/system/app/ApplicationsProvider.apk" doesnt have any of the expected sha1 sums.
I modified the apps on the A500 like most people when it was initially launched however this was one file which has NEVER been modified. I removed clear.fi and various other bloatware from the system and managed to recover the files from a base image someone took, which was great but this file is stopping the update process.
I've even went as far as decrypting the current build update.zip for 1.112.01 and replacing the file from the update.zip and it still fails.
My system details are as follows:
Android Version: 3.0.1
Kernel Version: 2.6.36.3
Build Number: Acer_A500_1.112.01_EMEA_CUS7.
Going throught he forums is very time consuming and often the conversation drops off topic but im curious if anyone could suggest something else.
Many Thanks for taking a look at this.
Its alright... i've just flashed it with the stock 3.1 update (Non-OTA) and its worked fine.
Thanks for viewing.

I had a system update when I started my A500 this morning. I was sure it was the 3.1 update. The update was done correctly and the tab was shut down. When I powered it up I checked the Android version and I didn’t see anything changed, it is still version 3.0.1. The Kernel version is 2.6.36.3 and the build number is 1.139.05_com_GEN1.
Anyone else had the update and if so, what did it updated?

Hello
as the title says, I cannot upgrade my Thinkpad Tablet to Android 4.0.
Here are some stats:
Build number: A310_02_0039_0089_US
Kernel Version: 2.6.36.3
not rooted
I tried to upgrade the tablet via the "normal" way in the settings menu (when it tries to update, the bar stops at 1/5 of the way and the tablet restarts) and i tried to update it manually via the recovery menu (tried all US Versions from download.len ovo.com/slates/think/tablet1/ (remove space in lenovo) that are higher than 0089), I attached a picture of the failed update from A310_03_0069_0130_US and A400_03_0069_0130_US
I did also perform a factory reset, but it didn't help.
thanks

Is there anyone who can help me?
Hi.
Sorry, I never found that problem. I updated to Android 4.0 over the air without problems.
I had tried to document the problems with this tablet here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Lenovo_ThinkPad
It will be interesting if we can find out how to fix this problem and document it there too.
By the way? is your tablet rooted? Do you use the standard Android Recovery Menu or did you installed CWM ?
Regards
The tablet is not rooted. I bought it used and it came with a CWN Recovery (as you can see in the picture).
I also tried to use NVflash but it has the 0X4 error (so I guess the bootloader is locked)
Bump
Has anyone else an idea?

Anybody here?
I think, you need to full reflash your slate with backup of ics via cwm or original firmware from Lenovo to have oem recovery
i am having the same problem but mine is completely stock.
Hello fellow devs & modding enthusiasts,
I know that the Note 3 version of the CM is still unofficial, but I decided to give it a go and build it for myself.
However, I bumped into a few strange issues and seeing the number of people who have succeeded in producing a working rom it seemed like the right place to look for some advice.
First of all, my environment setup has been done correctly (as per the instructions on the CM site) and my repo is always synced before each build.
I am planning on installing the rom on my Qualcomm SM-N9005, so I thought that the hltexx version is what I need. I "breakfasted" it, then extracted all prebuilts from the phone. "Brunch" came next, along with the first problem:
The build started normally, but after 30-40 seconds I got a missing library (libtime_genoff.so) error message which aborted the build. After looking in the CM directories and not being able to locate it, I decided to get it from the phone itself, just like the prebuilts. So, I did "make clean" and started the build once again, but this time copied the missing library manually to "out/target/product/hltexx/obj/lib" right after the output directories were created in the beginning of the build.
At this point I was very skeptical for the result, but for my surprise after about 1 hour the build was completed without any errors and I was on my way to Flashingtown.
Yes... But no. After selecting the .zip from CWM, I got a incorrect version error from the first assert line of the updater script. It said "this version is for hltexx only, your version is hlte". Now this is just plain weird to me...
I always thought that the SM-N9005 is actually "hltexx". Am I wrong?
As there is no "hlte" only project in the CM repo and having in mind that everyone is building mainly for the 9005 model, I decided to modify the first line of the updater script so to recognize the "hlte" device.
And so I did, then flashed and... well that's it. The device could not boot beyond the "Galaxy Note 3" logo. I immediately flashed one of the unofficial builds from XDA and everything suddenly worked smoothly and I was rocking a nice clean CM on my Note 3.
What am I missing? Is there anything more to building the CM repo for the Note 3?
Any ideas / suggestions will be immensely appreciated!
Cheers,
Vlad
Hi all
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F, which when I got it 18 months ago was very eager to get involved in rooting and getting a custom ROM on it.
Fast forward to present day and the novelty has worn off, I haven't kept up to date with anything, and I am probably very out of date.
As such I would like to either update to the latest ROM or just flash the latest stock - I am not sure I really use much nowadays that even requires anything other than stock (used to play a lot with Tasker, sysadmin apps)
What has prompted this is of late my phone has been very laggy, crashing, sys apps hanging, etc. I also dropped my phone ages ago and occasionally the screen stops working (although still responsive) and I have to take the battery out to get it back (sometimes it reboots to a full screen of coloured static, and I have to repeat this several times). Now I know this seems like a hardware issue but at times the phone will not have been touched or moved and it'll do this, which makes me hope that maybe updating it will help.
I have a paid version of Omega Files Pro but apparently there has been no update for a very long time.
Hopefully you guys can help me get back up to date and on a level
Android Version: 5.0
Baseband version: G900FXXU1ANCE
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-Omega-1.0
Build Number: Omega V17 - XXU1POCF
I have PhilZ Recovery iirc.
Thanks in advance, if you need anymore info please say.
Install the rom from alxndr thread. Its a stock rom slightly optimized. It is the best for stability, performance and battery. There is only great reviews about it, it has a great community, and he updates it very frequently.
He has roms for either android 5 or android 6, which could can find in the second post of the thread.
If you choose to install android 6, you will have to update the bootloader and modem. They, as well as instructions, can be found in his thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/rom-ane4-kitkat-4-4-2-multi-csc-t2813628
To correct the issues, you will probably need to perform a full factory reset before installing the rom. Before anything, I recommend you to do a full rom backup (using your recovery). That way, if you forgot to backup something (like your taskers profiles), you can always go back.
Before doing the factory reset, you should backup your SMS, calls and apps. The easiest way to do it is by using the integrated backup tools in your S5 options : in the backup&restore sections, you will find a Samsung section that can backup messages and phone calls. There will also be a Google section where you can choose to backup your apps. If everything is set up correctly, once you will boot the new rom, you will be asked sequentially if you want to restore the samsung (Messges, call logs) and google (apps) data.
Thank you I'll have a read.
Hi All,
I am the owner of a stock OnePlus 6T, which was recently running the latest version of Android 10 (v10.3.x) and also not rooted.
I was experiencing a jittery graphics issue with one of my favourite games, which was Mad Skills BMX 2. I contacted Turborilla Support in which they isolated the issue to the fact that Mad Skills BMX 2, had an issue with running on Android 10 and they suggested that I roll back to Android 9, which I did.
The rollback to Android 9 did not fix the jittery issue I was experiencing so I attempted to upgrade back to the latest "Official" version of Android 10 but no matter, how I try installing the Android update ZIP file whether it be version 10 or 9, I get to 99% of the installation then the process ends with an error that states "System Update Installation Failed"
I rolled back to Android 9 using the below installation file and I later found that this is beta version of OxygenOS ie OxygenOS Version.... OP6T_O2_Beta_17
Fulldowngrade_wipe_18801_181024_2027_user_MP2_release.zip
I have tried so many different fixes, ranging from OTA updates to downloading various ZIP installs and applying them using the "Local Upgrade" feature but no matter which method I try and keep on experiencing the "System Update Installation Failed" error.
I obviously installed a roll back ROM that has some how stuffed up my phone preventing, now preventing me to upgrade back up to Android 10.
Please help...
Thanks guys
why failed ?

TLDR
Use Oxygen Updater App to download the update then follow the Local Upgrade Method
Oxygen Updater: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater&hl=en
What happened in my case:
I unlocked Bootloader. regretted
Relocked it:
Using MSM Tool Restore Method https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/how-to-update-return-to-stock-oneplus-6-t3870795
I removed the rev_OverSeas~*** file from MSM Tool~.rar EXPORT don't know if that makes a difference or not.
***"rev_OverSeas_190403_2100_release_disable_OTA-BLOCK_Signed_fp1904032100_cve2019-03-01_ufs_9.0.13"
ended up rolling back to 9.
Installed Oxygen Updater: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater&hl=en
It downloaded: OnePlus6TOxygen_34_OTA_024_all_1909112343_9fd6e0057b8747dc.zip
installed using the Local upgrade Method
rebooted
It was still on 9
used Oxygen Updater to check for updates again.
found: OnePlus6TOxygen_34_OTA_024_all_2005052113_26a111bd1040285.zip
Installed the updated.
DONE.

Hey there,
I think the fastboot method https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-6t-t3862516 is still the cleanest method to get things back up and running, saved my device quite some times now.
Have a good one
Hi everyone, I discovered something that might be already known to everyone else out there but me... but probably is not known to many.
There is something everyone should know when updating.... DO NOT rename the update file, or else Oxygen OS will refuse to install it.
In my case, I was using the full OnePlus6TOxygen_34.J.55_OTA_055_all_2107132253_b2cbbb97b4eee.zip file as a local upgrade file from within the "system Updates", which is about 2 gigs in size, to upgrade to OxygenOS 10.3.12. I added the words "OxygenOS 10.3.12" to the end of the file but before the ".zip" extension.... and it would not work and I got the "System Update Installation Failed" message. I thought the file was corrupt. I re-downloaded. I checked file sizes in Windows Properties. I cleared caches. I chanted. I prayed... I thought maybe I need to change religions. Then, when just out of curiosity, I changed the file name back to its original... bingo! I did the filename change from within Android. I wonder how many other people learned this the hard way? This should be in the top 100 things that all android tinker-ers should know. "What You Should Know" for Android/OnePlus. Like an FAQ but the reverse... because an faq assumes you know what to ask, whereas a WYSK tells you what you will eventually find out the hard way . So there is my little contribution, and I hope someone else who was in a similar position finds this and it makes their day All the best You All! - Chad May
