I'm loving this Tom but it freezes sometimes and sometimes it want let even get into my pictures gallery. and when it does let me open my pic gallery it is slow as crap. Any fix to this or do I need to change versions. I'm on the 7.0.3.

What kernel are you using? I've heard of gallery problems with tiamat. I have no trouble with the gallery, maybe try a different kernel or try 7.1.0 RC1.

I've never encountered a sluggish CM7 release, from 7.0 to the latest nightlies. If you're going to the trouble of wiping everything, I'd upgrade to a newer version. Nightlies thread is in the development section.
Most "sluggishness" is generally unmodified adw launcher. Dig in the settings of it and play a little. I personally prefer and use lpp, so I can't help with that too much.
Just a quick tip, the default gingerbread gallery is slow as **** if you have a lot of pictures, hell even if you don't it's slow as hell. My recommendation is to get quickpic from the market, after you use that you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

This. I installed it myself a few days ago and it is multiple times faster than the crap stock one. There are actually two galleries for CM6 out there now. One isn't 3D, and it pretty decent. The other I think was ported from the hero. Its 3D but still much faster than stock.

Compared with DI18, you lose the stock Android music app and it's replaced with a touchwiz one. I deleted the music player from the /system/app folder and installed "Android Music" (based off Android 2.3 music player) from the Market.
The stock Android keyboard dictionary doesn't work, fixed that by downloading Gingerbread keyboard from the Market and deleting the stock keyboards from the /system/app folder.
Stock web browser is horribly buggy. I deleted it and installed Dolphin Mini.
It's really fast as far as I've tested.
I've been quite pleased thus far as well. I already found the Epic (even on 2.1) to be snappier than any non-dual core 2.2+ device I've fiddled with. This just makes it that much more smooth/powerful.
Are there any UI differences? Ie, Touchwiz launcher, lock screen, pop up menus, etc?

Yeah you just named like 85% of the apps I use and deleted them. I would do this as well, but I don't know how... yet, I would need a painfully detailed guide or a 4 min or less youtube video showing me ( I'm a visual learner that's how I learned to root and crap). Ill have to do some digging in the forum, wiki and youtube on how todo what you did. Thanks for the heads up, rather prepare before updating and rooting than update and root and not be prepared.

There are a lot of differences. Can't think of them all off the top of my head but here are a few. The settings icons are in color. There is a new messenger app. The lock screen is the same. The answer screen is the same. You can modify the home screen (add, remove rearrange and so on). You can modify the apps section icons. Color scheme on popups and menu items are better IMO. You can modify the tray icons. Media player is TW3 now.
I was really hoping for one of the other touchwiz lockscreens. Do we at least get music controls on the lock screen?

You guys sure? This is a very widely known issue and happens on both my EVO/CM7 and N1/Stock 2.3.3.
LP + Froyo with the 3D app drawer used to run at what seemed a smooth 50+ fps. Now it's around half that, definitely took a visual hit. The zooming app drawer transition also took a hit. I've tried every kernel/governor and it's the same.

This is my understanding as well, it seems we will have to wait for the developers of LP to optimize for GB. There is a HUGE performance difference between 2.2 & 2.3 w/ LP
Fine for me on latest Nightly, however, you could always just wait for the rewrite update, which should be like any week now...

Mine seems to run fairly smooth, however, I also get the crash when I boot the phone, and it seems to occasionally lag a bit, but after a while it'll fix itself and be smooth once more.
OK so just wanted to give my opinion yes Lp does run smooth on GB but it doesnt feal as smooth by when i am running adw EX. And yes i know that adw ex is already rewritten for GB. But as soon as LP rewrites for GB going straight back to LPP. I just love those widgets. BUt i sure love the fluxed icons theme for adw. Is there a way to install the flux theme to LP?
I just tried adw ex on cm7 and it felt just the same as launcher pro plus on cm7.

interesting thing is Dolphin Mini doesn't have any sort of checkerboarding effect. It could be something with the browser and flash in general as I do not know if it does this on other phones. Before Froyo, the stock browser never did it. I guess we could try uninstalling flash to see if the browser still does it to narrow it down a bit more.

Even if the EC05 and EB13 browsers didn't checkerboard I'd still never use them. The stock Android browser is the best one I've ever used and nothing on the market compares to its simple interface. I wish someone would make a ROM that didn't have this "TouchWiz Browser" and just use the stock Android 2.2 browser.
If the checkerboard browser is all that is wrong then I will be very very happy. 3G data is fantastic and so far BT has been very steady. I have had no issues so far and have been on EC05 all day.

its not lag that I am having. Its issues with say when swiping through pics in the gallery or quickpic where scrolling just sucks
I responded in another post by you (best GB rom or something) and asked why you wanted to change to GB.
ICS is very smooth swiping up down, left right, on any ICS rom. Not laggy at all. However I do have an issue with one app regarding sideway scrolling, but that is a UK specific app, and the dev knows about it. Quickpic scrolling is super smooth for me, and so is on Apex, Nova and my preferred choice, GoLauncher.
