Google+ and the XDA Circle - EVO 4G General

I have made a G+ Account called "XDA Circle". If we can get all XDA members to search and add that account to a circle. It would more or less create a global group. I'm thinking it would be an easy way to keep our own XDA circles up-to-date. Simply search for the "XDA Circle" profile, dbl-click into it to view who has circled the "XDA Circle" account. Then you can easily find XDA Members that you have not added yet.
I have no plans to use or make posts from that profile. In theory, it should grow on its own as more XDA members get online with Google+.

Sounds like a solution in search of a problem.
... Why not just use the XDA forums :-|

[email protected] I'd love an invite!!

[Q] XDA Forum App Source?

I was wondering who I would have to contact to get the source code to the XDA Forum app. I'm looking to develop an app for the MMO "Star Trek Online" for accessing the game forums, but since the forum setup is nearly identical to the XDA forums, it would be a lot easier to use the XDA App as a starting point and build on that as it seems to work very well and is extremely stable.
My plan is to use the XDA Forum App to create the STO App, but also add to it. The In-Game chat uses XMPP, and the in-game mail and forum PMs are the same system, so if I add a XMPP Client, that would allow STO players to use the in-game chat, mail, and browse the web forums all from one app on their android phones.
So, if you know the person/people who developed the XDA Forum app, can you point them in my direction or point me in their direction?
it's based on Tapatalk.
So either Tapatalk sponsors xdadevelopers or xda pays some license fees to offer the app for free.
Visit the tapatalk homepage to learn more about this app and how to enable support in your forum, which is free.
However, you won't get the app for free.

Thoughts on Google+

Well what is everyone's thought on Google+? I haven't made a thread in I don't know how long, and thought this could be worth some discussion since it appears to be trending. I didn't know what it was since I saw it pop up here of the the last two days or so, so I looked it up just now, and appears [to me] to be Google's take on Facebook, ect.
I personally don't have a Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, ect, and I'm 21 [shocking, I know], so I personally don't know if I'd use it, but if I get an invite, I may use it. Personally, I do like how in the circles, it acts like a group chat so that everyone receives the same messages, links, ect, and saves a lot of hassles texting/IM'ming multiple people on the same subject.
So all of you Facebook users know [or should know] Google had that issue with Facebook on the security issues, and each was blocking the other..blah blah blah, so the question here is, do you think Facebook could/would down the line try to cite an infringement on Google to get back at them for X integration into Google+? Again, just for discussion's sake.
I wouldnt know, I've been trying to get an invite for 3 days now LOL.

A few thoughts on Google+ ...
I have been using Google+ for 3-4 days now. I have been using facebook for a few years as well. I am very stoked on Google+! I am sure once Google opens it up to the public it is going to take off like crazy!
When comparing G+ & FB, the one word that comes to mind is freedom! I trust Google more than facebook with my data, so I feel safer sharing more personal info in my Google+ profile. Plus, you are able to moderate who you share every piece of info with. Another huge plus to this is Google doesn't hide these important secutiry features. You don't have to go on a hunt to find out how to secure your profile etc.. Facebook is notorious for this.
Google is being very smart with G+ and its features. For example, when you post to the stream, you are able to go back and edit it if you want. Also, you have the option to disable sharing and/or commenting on that specific post. Also, with posts, you have the option to share it with the public, a specific person, a specific circle, or a group of circles.
I just tried the Hangout feature last night which is a video conferencing feature. When you start a hangout, you are placed in a "room" by yourself with your webcam open. A link will also be placed on your stream and others stream letting them know you are hanging out. They have the option to join, and when they do, their webcam will enter the room. Not sure what the limit is for people in video chat, but you can have multiple people in one room. It's a rad feature! I hope they implement it in the mobile app.
The Android app is rad too! It has a huddle feature which allows one on one chat with other G+ users, or group chat with one or more circles.
You can disable or enable a feature which will auto upload all photos you take from your phone to an online private album on Google+. If you wan to share that picture, you can access it via web or mobile app and share with anyone.
The is a +1 button, this is a rad little button! Yes, it functions as facebook's like button, but it has more power that just showing that you like someones post. You will notice this button next to every result in your google searches, and if websites have it integrated, you will be able to +1 an article or website. These +1's will automatically be shown in a +1 tab in your G+ profile.
Stream = Compare to facebook's news feed
Circles = Custom groups of Google+ contacts you create
Huddle = Google+ chat for mobile app
Hangout = Google+ video conferencing for web app
+1 Button = Compare to facebook's Like button. (If you see people in facebook posting +1 in response to people's comments, this is what they mean.)
Anyway, I can go on and on! I hope Google+ "Myspaces" Facebook! I am sure it will.
A lot of thought has been put into this project, and it shows!

Keep trying! Google opens and closes G+ throughout the day.
A few friends of mine had to keep checking until they got in.
I started a thread with this info, and will add more as it comes to me.

So true! Also notice how the majority of those asking here on XDA are newly registered and have very few posts. Seems a little suspicious to me.
That said: I will send invites, but only if you have been an XDA member for at least 1 month or have over 100 constructive posts. My invites will go to the real community, not these "n00bs" just trying to get a free ride.
I would love an invite but can't face the idea of begging for one on the forum...

Hey OP, have any clue how the privacy settings work on google+? I have a crazy ex stalker g/f and need most my stuff other than profile pic and name private : /
Oh I should also say that google+ is freaking awesome and IMO way better than facebook! I am just trying to figure it all out right now...
How will this work? Will I see the posts that user x makes to the circle or just one guy?

Basically, the way it works is you create a circle like XDA. Then you find and add people to your XDA circle. Once added, you will see their posts as well as all the other people in that circle. Then you have the option to view the posts of everybody you have in all circles, or you can select single circle at a time to filter out the rest.
I would love an invite as well...been on xda awhile...dont post much mostly just reading lol....dont wanna throw my mixed knowledge in and confuse people lol

Yes! I have a TF circle and it has been very useful for member collaboration in the Hangout mode. We had a good time last week when we were all waiting for the 3.2 update. It came down OTA as we were all on and were able help each other out. Let me know, I'll start my circle now. [email protected]

Guys, posting email addresses in this forum is probably not such a good idea.
It gets webcrawled by Google, which is where nasty people go to collect email addresses for spam and phishing.
