Hello mates,
Yesterday, I bought Acer A500, 32GB from Costco. I just opened the box and setup the WIFI only. The build number is Acer_A500_1.104.02_COM_GEN1. I tried to update it to honeycomb 3.1 but every time it returns that my device is up to date?
As I said, nothing done to it, no applications installed and not rooted. Any idea why? Thanks in advance. Also, it comes ONLY with the case. No HDMI cable. Very strange as others got it.

HDMI cable is not part of the standard packaging. Those that got it, PROBABLY bought a device someone had returned and left their HDMI cable inside.
As for the 3.1 update, it means nothing that you haven't got it yet. Acer are rolling it out in batches, so you'll get it eventually.

Mine came with the HDMI Cable. The Costco Deal was a 32GB unit, with the Acer case, an HDMI Cable, USB Cable and the power cable for $479.99+tax.
I think Acer is rolling out the updates gradually which sucks because I need the update as well. Have been waiting for Exchange Mail and other fixes.
Different packages for different suppliers, I guess.
What ROM version do you currently have? Exchange support has been in there since 1.139, you just have to go to Settings->Accounts->Add Account->Corporate.
I also bought my tablet from Costco Tablet ,HDMI cable, USB cable, charger and an ACER case/cover.
I didnt get an update either. I went from stock 3.0 to Virtuous Picasso and finnaly now on stock Acer 3.1.

Corporate was not an option for me. Only Email, Google and Iconia Tab

Hi, Just wondering how you reverted stock 3.1? Did you get the OTA or installed the ROM?
I got a 32GB model at Costco as well and I believe it had that same firmware initially as well. No updates ever showed until July 5th when I got an incremental update to a more recent 3.0 version. July 6th came and and it reported the 3.1 update as being available.
I got the full load of extras in my box, the case and HDMI cable. However I don't recall the placard or other material in the store indicating the HDMI cable was part of the package. I believe the case was called out. There was nothing on the box itself indicating what extras if any were added. I'd seen others reporting they had got the hdmi cable at that time. I believe I bought mine in early June.
Now if that clear cover on the rear camera would just stay completely down instead of easing up on one end...
You'll get the update once your serial number/ID fits into the set opened for updates. Perhaps your unit was more recently built and has a S/N in a newer range that gets updated slightly later.
I bought mine at Best Buy for $389 (included ac adapter & usb) and purchased the Buy Back Plan, a the Acer case, and an hdmi cable all for $449 (excluding tax).

I initially bought that one as well but returned it since it was the 16GB version. I also paid for the no fault damage waiver though which bumped the price another $100. They didn't have the cases yet so I decided to return it and get this one. I think for the diff in price it was worth going to 32GB from 16GB. I load it with large files.

I rooted the stock 3.0 installed Acer Recovery Installer from market. Backup. then flash procedure with CW. Im using a ROM thats stock with root everything else untouched, its on the forums somewhere, cant remeber where.

Never received a single ota update from Acer. When I first purchased my a500 I simply used vache's instructions to make sure I was running the latest 3.0 based rom, after the leak of 3.1 went up I switched to that, after the official 3.1 came up I installed CWM and have since upgraded.

This is the same one I purchased. Rooted that night and installed Virtuous Picasso Asus-base. The next day I loaded up Acer 3.1 rooted.
I already had an HDMI cable (from my Droid X). I don't really like the case that it came with.

got one from costco on 7/5th with build#1.104.02, no update so far. on 7/8th got another one from another costco with buid#1.145.09, right after turning on and hooking up wifi, update#4.010.08 came in. strangely, 2 costco are only 30 miles apart, and both tablets were manufactured in June, but pre-installed builds are different. both have no HDMI. costco.com sells for $10 more, guess that one has it.

I picked up a couple aftermarket usb cables of Ebay for my tab so I could connect it at the office and use them in the charger for travel. I realized today I cant connect to my PC when I use the aftermarket cables. Just a heads up
You have to get the cable that matches your tab model. The pin outs are not the same between models.
Where??? I always got my accessories for my phones on Ebay without issue.
I believe what the OP is saying is make sure get charge and sync cable. I'm guessing the one he bought was only capable of charging. Fewer pins to connect = cheaper costs.
The pins are different for different models. When I bought a second cable off ebay, I couldn't get the cheapest, because it wouldn't work for my model. I had to buy the at&t model.
I bought a couple of these usb sync/charge cable recently from the eBay and gad no problems with them. They came with proper boxes wraped up.

Galax Tab Sprint Cable
I have the oem cable and this aftermarket cable from ebay.
I've been using the cable from ebay since I got it.
The cable works fine and is longer.

Just (arrived yesterday) got an after marked cable from ebay, just tried to use it and my Tab appears to shut down (black screen, no response from buttons etc).
Luckily I have my original cable with me but now that's doing the same (into a PC and mains).
Is this a massive coincidence of have I just goosed my beloved Galaxy Tab?

I really hate that the OEM cables are so dang short. I'd love to find a couple of longer ones.

I use my OEM cable tho it is short, I use my USB cable extension from my logitech wireless mouse, It works just fine.
Of course when syncing I plug it direct to PC
I bought two different from DealExtreme a couple of months ago.
Both are working fine on my Dutch operator-free stock rom Tab.
The cables are a bit thinner then the original but for me works fine both charging and pc connection.
Shipping is free but some packages get lost "somewhere".
So it is just a risk you might want to take.

I'm looking to buy a WIFI Xoom in the US and want to know if the standard charger it comes with also will work with our 220 volt/50 hertz system? I understand the Xoom does not charge via USB and need assuranse I'll be able to charge it back home.
Has your charger got the 100-240V~50/60Hz electrical specification printed on it?

Works fine, I even have 2 of the chargers as i bought the dock station as well. They are multi voltage and work in the UK just fine all you need is a plug adapter.

I ordered a WIFI only Xoom from B&H Photo and Video (www.bhphotovideo.com) on 27 March. Tracking shows i should get it today or tomorrow, can't wait!

If I hadn't already pre-ordered from Dixons I'd be placing my order too! Taking into account shipping and taxes though the price difference is negligable, even though I'd probably get it sooner if I ordered from the States.
No offense, but I don't think any electronic device manufactured in the past 15 years doesn't have a multi voltage charger. My laptops in 1997 were multi charger.
Besides, if you really want the device and you weren't 100% sure, you could always get a converter.

Ordered one the last time they ran the deal, shipping didn't take long like many people say about them. It was shipped UPS Basic but seemed just as fast as ground. They sent it in a box way too big and it came open sometime during shipping according to UPS. Luckily it wasn't damaged since the Motorola packaging is pretty good.

Just ordered one on Amazon. Why would you want LG to manufacture this? It is a licence free and royalty free tech. Hopefully down the road we will see them for < 10 dollars.

hi there just seen your post. i ordered mine from gearbest china and it came today with standard adapter for uk socket. so will get oneplus usb to mains and then you plug that into another adapter. to be honest i just used my own juicebox usb to mains for a cleaner no clutter conection. oh also i payed for mail insurance and aked gearbest to put gift on parcel. after leaving gearbest china warehouse i received it today and payed no tax so i was very happy with that.

Is it a USB C charger? From the EU warehouse its £305 delivered which isn't bad takes like 3day to be delivered once sent out

yes you get all the oneplus charging contents usb c cable oneplus foreign charger block plus another socket to uk socket.
it only took 5 days to arrive via courier. i was able to check online the progress of where the parcel was. the company they used was called oneworld which i had to find on my own with a quick google search.
the only issue i have had today is setting it up LOL. the phone wont OTA update so i have spent the day trying to figure all that out and seeing as my last phone was the moto g 1st gen iv found it all a bit much for my first day but hopefully i will get into the swings of things. i have never rooted a phone before so any help would be appreciated. iv installed the updates manually by finding links on the web but my question is this, is the phone already rooted as it is the chinese A2001 MODEL. If its not will my updates have to be installed again if i root it?
also can someone give me a link to a easy guide for help please?

I can't help you with the phone specifically as I don't have it. Trying to work out if I'm getting this or the new nexus
Root is usually pretty simple, just a flash jver adb for recovery and then flash SuperSU or something

No you shouldn't as it is coming from within the EU. I would be more worried about the lte support in the UK it might not support band 20 which is o2 / vodafone

Am i able to use the usb cable in any usb to uk plug socket as it is a us handset?
Also =i dont really use 4g so as long as i have phone signal i should be fine
