I wonder if google is checking the user agent? Or if not that, maybe just making sure the IP is coming from Verizon. Remember someone noted this will not work over WIFI, so I would try the URLs within the Eris's browser with wifi off if that is the case.
If you're using your home internet connection, it won't show up to google as Verizon wireless.
I just tried the URL's using 3G --- that didn't work either.

Well damn.
Ok I wonder if they are caching the zip on your sdcard. You could try running the freeware program called "Recuva" on it which will recover deleted files and see if the file is still there.

I tried installing the update but there was some type of error in the recovery menu or something. These are the stats I have now

This is the only thing in the patch script that makes me nervous.
Code:
assert(package_extract_file("recovery.img", "/tmp/recovery.img"),
write_raw_image("/tmp/recovery.img", "recovery"),
delete("/tmp/recovery.img"));
show_progress(0.016179, 1);
assert(package_extract_file("boot.img", "/tmp/boot.img"),
write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img", "boot"),
delete("/tmp/boot.img"));
show_progress(0.016179, 1);
write_firmware_image("PACKAGE:radio.img", "radio");
I tried flashing on PlainJane which is the OTA update with a few changes and well it didn't work( On RA I modified the update script so it wouldn't flash recovery, boot,or radio and signed it give me an error and on the first assert). So I flashed the recovery that came with the update to see if it was the RA recovery giving problems and then tried to flash the OTA as is and still got the same error, so You probably have to be on a true no root, no nothing OTA for it to work. If anyone is willing to do it let me know so i can incorporate this OTA into PlainJane.
The radio should be safe. It's the other I'm worried about.

I wouldn't be to sure they can lock the nand with the radio if they wanted, doubt they would do it thought. but if you have 1.49200 the engineering hboot you're good because you can flash anything with that.
"OTA 2.1plus" 2010-07-17 System Image
Here is the fully patched /system partition image (yaffs2 format) for those of you that want to start using the patched files.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3UBCFTHP
(see below for MD5 and file size)
This system image was created by running the 2010-07-17 "OTA2.1plus" OTA update against a FR'ed Leak-V3 ROM on the Eris
1) Start with a rooted Eris w/ 1.49.2000 S-OFF bootloader and Amon_RA
2) Wipe /system and /data
3) Install (via unyaffs or flash_image) system.img, userdata.img, boot.img, recovery.img from (unpacked) Leak-V3 PB00IMG.ZIP
4) Boot phone and let it configure itself
5) Move OTA_Desire_C_Verizon_WWE_2.37.605.4_2.36.605.1_release.zip to SD card root folder and rename as "update.zip"
6) Perform FR of Eris
7) Reboot, skip activation calls, shutdown
8) Boot (Vol-Up+End) LV3 Recovery, and perform sdcard:update.zip update
9) Finish update, reboot, skip activation, shutdown
10) Re-install Amon_RA via fastboot
11) Make Nandroid Backup
For disambiguation purposes only, I renamed the resulting system.img file
63a06b50ca291e62a9a7f6c8761a5284 ota21+_system.img (172,675,008 bytes)
I could have culled only the patched files into a zip, which would have reduced the size considerably, but I'm still rebuilding my dev station, and don't have everything I needed set up yet.

PS Yes, I suppose I have a new radio on my phone now. Que sera, sera, sera.
PS2 Now you can stop worrying
Well I'm saying I feel safe because I already have that radio. I've had it for a few months. It was extracted from the Sprint Hero.
BFTB0: FR?
Here's an edited update.zip i made. It patches everything and leaves the bootloader and recovery untouched.
http://www.multiupload.com/NUFVZNVDGD
I had to fix permissions on su afterward, but that's fairly easy with adb shell:
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/mtd/mtd3 /system
chmod 06755 /system/bin/su
I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOUR PHONE GETS HOSED
Hi guys, I have been running 2.1-update1 stock (rooted though, then later S-OFF) since I first received my DInc. When I went to upgrade I knew I would need to replace Clockwork Recovery with Stock Recovery (which took me about an hour to figure out until I read that the SD card needed to be FAT32 formatted... for some reason mine was only FAT).
From there I decided to install the OTA update (that I actually received OTA), however during filecheck, two files were MD5'd mismatched so I couldn't upgrade until I fixed these files. I suspect these files were modified by the Wireless Tether app, so I dug around in the original 2.1-update1 RUU's rom.zip's system.img file for the original files. I am posting them here just in case anyone else could ever come to a place where they are needed.
Original Files from RUU_IncredibleC_Verizon_WWE_1.22.605.0_Radio_1.00.03.04.06_release_161493_NoDriver.exe

Good luck and happy modding!
I have modified several of the updates to be installed in ClockworkMod Recovery so that it will not overwrite CWM Recovery and should also preserve root. I still recommend protecting root using Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper in case something goes wrong and it is always a good idea to make a nandroid backup in ClockworkMod Recovery before installing any update. Also after updating Titanium backup said that my su had the wrong permission and it wanted to correct it (I allowed it to fix it). I am not sure why this happened as I thought I set the permissions properly in the update but go ahead and run Titanium after updating and let it fix it for you if there is a problem. These updates will still check all of your system apps so you need to restore them (copying and pasting them back into the /system/app folder and setting the proper permissions with Root Explorer is one of the easiest ways to do this). You can also make your own modifications to the update and remove the checks if you like (some people have done this with no problems but one guy reported that android wouldn't boot after updating with no checks so I leave it up to you to decide for yourself). I posted instructions for modifying the update here. The changes I made to the update were to remove the Indigo check (because it was giving me an error) commented out the lines that delete the current recovery and install the new recovery, removed the line that deletes Superuser.apk, added an su file to the update so that it reinstalls su after deleting it, and finally added lines to symlink and set permissions for the su file.
Install instructions:
Protect root with Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper (just in case)
Copy the proper update.zip to your external sdcard (if you are US or WE you must install 086 before 089)
Make sure your battery is well charged (having your battery die during the update would be very bad)
Turn off TpT and boot into recovery by turning on and repeatedly pressing the volume up key
Wipe cache partition
Make a nandroid backup (not necessary but highly recommended)
Select install zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard then browse to and select the update you downloaded here
Let the install run and then choose reboot system now in the CWR main menu
The first boot will take a long time, don't worry this is normal (if it takes more than 30min you may want to hold power to turn off and reboot again)

Flash at your own risk! I am not responsible if this totally bricks your tablet, breaks your root, or creates any other problems for you! Make sure that you install the correct version for your region.
Worked great for me. Thanks!
Is it also necessary to temporarily unroot before applying the update? Thanks again.
I don't believe I needed to do a tempory un-root to apply the updates. I just followed the instructions. I did have to power down during the first installation since it stayed in .. rebooting.. mode for 20 to 25 minutes. After powering down and rebooting, _86 was installed.
I did have to re-install Busybox to get LUKS Manager to work after the installation of 86 and 89.
Thanks, but I got in trouble with OTA2 by not unrooting first, and the OP is the one who helped me with it. I need to make sure before I make a move.
It should not matter, the update deletes and reinstalls su.
Thank you. I'll give it a try later today.
great thanks.
a sticky would be great

My market is working fine on OTA 2.5. Maybe you have two versions of the same app installed after updating (for example if you removed FlexT9 in system and installed the full FlexT9 keyboard from the market and then restored the system app to update). It could also be a problem due to the change over to the new Play Store as quyTam suggested. If all else fails a factory reset would likely fix the problem but then you will have to set everything up again.

Nope, i unfroze apps before i updates and made sure there were no replaced system apps when I installed.
I have tried stock market, 3.4.4 (honeycomb 3.2 market) and 3.4.6 (Play store) and they all force crash. Sounds like a factory reset may be needed.

thx for the help!!!
You can also go to the Lenovo download page to find your previous download file, unzip it, and find the file to put back.

thx for the help. just asking are you referring to this:
download.lenovo.com/slates/think/tablet1
the worse thing is i deleted the drmprovider.apk and the odex as well which i couldn't see that apps in those zip.
so could anyone help here?
thx!!!
I received a notification for ota update and it failed, im not sure why is there a way to fix it?
See attachment of error
I suspect you renamed (or deleted) the BrowserProviderProxy apk and odex files to sideload the gnex browser and flash. I had done the same and my OTA failed with the same error. I renamed the browser.apk adding a .bak to the name and renamed my BrowserProviderProxy files back to the .apk and .odex extensions, and restarted. Then I copied the update zip from the /cache folder to the root folder and booted into recovery. Installed the zip in recovery and all was well. I used cwm recovery through Rom Manager and I had installed and run Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper before starting. I chose not to flash a new recovery and yes to trying to keep root after the update process.

There are 237 assertions in the OTA update... Might be easier to just restore to stock 4.1.1 then update.

Yeah... but you gave me an idea. I took the list of files to be patched from the OTA and made a cwm flashable zip with the 4.1.2 versions of the files, the kernel and bootloader. Since these are complete files, there are no patches which means the only assertions are to make sure it runs on a grouper device.
I've run it a few time myself and it seems to work fine. If you want to be a guinea pig and test it out, send me a PM and I'll send you a link.
For those having problems with rooting NST on FW 1.2.0
Mirror of fw 1.1.2

It is also still possible to pull the 1.1.2 update file from the official server:

The update file is a zip. There is no need to unzip it unless you are a developer and need to look at the contents or patch it. But there shouldn't be a password on the zip. I just downloaded it from the above link to the official site (su.barnesandnoble.com) and its a zip with no password as it should be. Perhaps your download was corrupted.
Cannot downgrade
Hi, I have also Nook Touch with FW 1.2.1 but I'm not sure how to downgrade. Is there different method from upgrading (copy zip file with fw to nook root directory and uplug)?

Use 'Clockwork' image to downgrade to FW 1.1
https://code.google.com/p/nst-recovery/downloads/list
steps:
1. burn 'sd_2gb_clockwork-rc2.zip' to microSD.
2. place 'nook_1_1_update_cwm.zip' in root directory of MicroSD.
3. boot CWR
4. "update" from .zip

If your nook came with 1.1 or 1.0 you could use factory.zip recovery and then update to 1.1.2 I used the RootManager Graphical Rooter to recover to factory. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040351
