I bought a bricked Nexus S form the marketplace. I tried to get it in to download mode and it is not working at all. The phone is charging so i know it has life in it. It is not recognized by fastboot or odin. I have a jig and I tried it and failure striked again. I really need experts because the phone is to nice for it not to work and i know it is no such thing as a fully software bricked samsung android phone.
That is amazing. I thought for sure that you could get it working with no problems.

power it off. power it on holding the volume up button and power button at the same time. if it goes into the bootloader mode, then its not bricked.
Take out the battery and hold the power button for 20 secs

I thought that only developers hard bricked vibrants, I didn't really ever think it could happen while flashing a rom? Was your battery charged at least at 20%? I have axura 2.2.5.7 and it flashed fine when I did it a few weeks ago this makes me not want to update to the newest rom.

I tried everything, no effect, unless the phone in the trash, unless you know another way to fix it, all the other roms work without a problem, the problem was only with Axura

lemme guess odin? I was pretty bricked once. I took the sd card out. Plugged it to my computer (not wall) and held one for like 30-40 seconds and then pressed power and it magically booted into download mode. Just try that or the other way around. Worked for me. Good luck!

Do you have a car dock or media dock. I was in a similar predicament once and all of the above failed to bring it back. Then I was on the way to the Sprint store to swap out when I put my Epic in the car dock (force of habit) and it magically booted to the screen with the pictures of the pc and phone. I was able to pull the battery and boot to download mode from there.

Hi every one! Everything was ok with my GNote and for months with ics update. yesterday I tried to reboot it because the battery was empty after long time use. I connected the phone to the charger but nothing happens. I waited a few hours but nothing too. It does not pass to download mode and recovery mode too. I tried the battery on the GNote of my brother and it works and its battery does not help to boot up on my GNote. So the problem is on the phone. What is the solution please?
PS: i don't changed anything on the Gnote since Mounths
Thank you

Just a long shot, but is it a faulty battery connection on your device.
have you tried to flash another gb or ics rom?
Im guessing you run on stock ics, you could be superbricked if you deleted a big file from your phone, deleting big files could trigger the eMMC brick command. Just guessing here so i could be wrong.

Seems to be battery connection problem from your tests as it was said before. If your warranty is not void..should go for SAV.

If it was a faulty battery connection, as seems to be a consensus here, than your phone wouldn't boot at all; yet you say that you can reach Download and Recovery mode.

No download mode, the only thing i could get out of it was a red led
You could try to charge it whole night, and then access the recovery /download mode, or maybe open it and unplug battery terminal and plug it back after few minutes....
If that won't help, I think RMA is the only solution (they should not be able to check it if it wont give anything but black screen)
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I don't think RMA covers user mistakes Its hard bricked if you flashed the wrong ROM. You have to send it away for J-Tag. Likely your only solution.
Gonna ask to the local LG store for repairing costs, then i'll value the best option
I erase my n7 boot loader and they fixed it for free should be the same with the n4

Try turning it in and see what happens, i doubt they will be able to tell the phone has the wrong software and the bootloader is unlocked.Good luck
Thought repairs should be done worldwide but swaps only in the country where you bought it.

Did you lost all the personal datas?
I had the same issue. Windows Explorer on my Win 7 computer was not downloading the image properly from Google, and when I tried to install the factory image I got the red led and it was stuck on the "X" screen. After trying several times to get it into download mode, I discovered that I could eventually catch it if I hit the volume down and power buttons at a certain exact time during bootup, at which time I reloaded a non-corrupted factory image and I was up and running.
