phone does not respond to any buttons so I can not use the download mode
try buying/building a JIG, im not much of a pro with a JIG, but it'll get you into download mode, idk how it works, but wait for more answers is all i can say
JIG is not working, the phone does not respond
I just had this happen...take everything out of the phone, plug in usb to pc, hold down only the volume buttons, plug in the usb to phone, put in the battery and it should go right into download mode....

That works when phone is soft bricked, this looks like a hard brick
I thought that only developers hard bricked vibrants, I didn't really ever think it could happen while flashing a rom? Was your battery charged at least at 20%? I have axura 2.2.5.7 and it flashed fine when I did it a few weeks ago this makes me not want to update to the newest rom.

Thats what I thought too. I just had this happen last night...no power, no buttons, no boot, nothing... DEAD. I tried this this morning and it worked.
I tried everything, no effect, unless the phone in the trash, unless you know another way to fix it, all the other roms work without a problem, the problem was only with Axura

I need to take my phone back to sprint, seems there is a hardware problem with the phones charging circuit. it will not mount to the computer, it will sort of charge, but if you unplug the cord, it just thinks its still charging. if you turn it off, it either just stays off until you pull the battery or sometimes it just reboots itself. it will not charge when off etc.
I tried 3 different roms so I know its not the rom.
So odin is out. I have bonsai rom and clockwork mod on the phone. I don't think thats a good idea to take it to sprint like this. is there anyway to get it back to stock?
anyone help please?
Just to make sure, have you tried putting it in download mode? It doesn't necessarily need to mount to computer for odin to recognize it.

Agreed, that's what I was getting at.If odin will at least recognize it and start to flash, even if it fails it'll stick at boot screen.

i have got the screen to say download mode, but odin doesn't recognize nothing.
ugg, I got this clockwork v 3.0.0.5 and I tried to run an old update.zip figuring maybe i'd brick the phone or get it back to stock and it won't work with that version of clockwork. I don't know what the heck to do, i can't walik in with it like this.

Just follow the instructions. Good luck. Let me know if you have any problems. I had a bricked epic once and that solved my problem.

yea, odin is a no go, thats the problem i tried odin on two different computers, you want to know how screwed up this thing in? sometimes it boots up and thinks its in car dock mode.
Try a different USB cable? If odin is just impossible, remove sd card, take a short piece of wire with bare ends, have phone powered on, and short whatever you find on the back, fry the board. Sad, but gotta take it out back and put a bullet in its head.
Really though, IF the Sprint employee even notices, chances are they won't say anything anyway. Never did for me.

how much does it cost for them to fix it? tried 2 different cables and i know they were working, i know its not the cable because, when i plug in the charger, it doesn't ring up usb debugging when that is selected and you only supposed to be able to deselect or select usb debugging when the cable is out, but I can toggle it on and off with the cable in or out.
Go to another phnes thread
Maybe the EVO
Download a rom from there and then flash it through cwm

since i'm rooted and they would be foolish not to notice i'm rooted and it seems there is no way for me to unroot or go to a stock rom, would it be better to just brick the thing? i hate to do that do to the fact that then i'm stuck without a phone. Plus what if I brick it and they find out it was rooted? can they do that?
If its truly bricked, no they can't. Them knowing its rooted isn't that big of a deal, they'd either attempt to revert it to an official build anyway, or they'll tell you they can't take it that way, as in bring it back stock.
I've taken in 2 Epics for hardware issues, one was screen, the other keyboard. Both were rooted, one was on stock build and the other on custom rom. They restored stock software to the custom rommed phone before they decided the screen was actually broken lol

While that would be the "smart" thing for a company to do, Sprint's official policy on rooting is that they will revert it to stock if they see that it's rooted during any repairs.

apparently the policy has changed, as after waiting an hour and a half, they came back and said its rejected because it was flashed and i lack common sense apparently when I mentioned that it doesn't say anything about that anywhere.

I've had this before. You need to purge the power in your phone. Take battery out and hold down the power button a few times.
This will purge power and memory.
Then boot into download. # 1 and power and then odin.

I had my phone do the exact same thing (die during flash). What you can try doing is leaving your battery out overnight, and in the morning, plug the phone in to your computer/wall, then plug your battery in.
Really what you need is to get your battery charged. If worse comes to worse, you could go to a Sprint Store, and tell them your phone died and you don't have insurance, and ask them to charge your battery, OR if you know someone else with your phone you could swap.

Only thing I've heard recently is where somebody flashed a Vibrant rom on a Fascinate, and somehow trashed the download mode functionality so that it wasn't accessible even with a USB jig. Other than that, I've heard that you can now recover the modem after flashing with the phone button in Odin, so as long as you stick with roms intended for the Verizon Fascinate, I'd say it's pretty much impossible to brick.

My phone stopped displaying anything after the little samsung animation. So I used Odin to update the phone with T959UVKA6_REV05_home_low_CL860813.tar.md5 as mentioned here. i have bricked 2 fascinates but after a lot of work i figured it was the usb ports on my laptop that where losing connection while Odin was running
odin would see the phone then i would flash the rom using pda and odin would fail then the phone would be stuck in down load mode before i knew it was the usb ports on my laptop i tried again and again to fix it and at some point i bricked the phone comply this happen with 2 different phones before i tried to use odin on my roommates pc and it ran fine mind you this was with my 4th fascinate in 6 months the 1st one the touch screen went out on but the 2nd to i bricked
so just to let everyone know if odin fails feel free to use a different pc altogether to fix it because it could be the usb ports

it was especially when i went a whole weekend with out a phone because i was stuck in dl mode and all my friends couldn't help but say i told you you shouldn't hack your phone because this kind of stuff happens. always pisses me off when someone who has no idea what rooting a phone is like or why i do it talks as if they know better then to try it. enjoy you locked down "smart phone" i will enjoy my freedom. of course the friends that let me root their phones for them knew it was nothing i did wrong.
In my experience with flashing motherboards, xbox360s, etc. I would guess that it is impossible to brick your phone in CWM, but definitely possible using ODIN.
When you put the phone into download mode(plug into PC with no battery, hold volume down) and have the yellow "construction" android (no idea what it is supposed to be, but that's what it looks like to me) the phone will accept any package you push to it, and writes to protected areas of the phone, like the most base levels possible. I imagine if you wrote the wrong files to the phone using ODIN, or unplugged the phone during the process that it would likely brick.
Hey I accidently flashed the Mesmerize odin n didnt brick lol... It actually worked...so I guess that can be a story...unless everyone has already tried that lol
