That appears to address a similar issue - perhaps it would work? My tablet gets here tomorrow, so I'll give it a try. Until then, if someone else has looked into the problem at all, maybe we could get a thread going on how it can be fixed. Has anyone made any headway?

No report on this yet? I'm very interested as this issue affects the pic gallery.
BTW, TNT Lite v2 FTW!
I checked it out but the file he is referring to isn't there, used rootexplorer
Also the sensor app shows absolute 0 way off, it does seem as if this can be fixed, or at least changed
This depends on which accelerometer the system is using. gTab may not have this accelerometer.
in regards to orientation issues:
It's actually right. I found this the other night and just haven't had a chance to post it yet: nvidia developer pdf.
It seems that the orientation being 90 degrees off is correct (link, page 6). Somehow we need to fix the transforms to get us from the correct orientation to the phone-standard orientation that apps seem to be written on (have a look at page 7 of the pdf).
TNT lite 2.0 seems to have fixed the issue
I've loaded TNT lite 2.0 and then started up the game Raging Thunder and it works perfectly.
Warning on TNT lite 2.0. Make sure you have clockwork mod loaded first. My machine went into a boot loop and I had to use clockwork mod to get out of it.

Raging Thunder 2 has never been an issue for me, and is one of the smoothest running games...it's obvious that they have done something different. Maybe it can be used to fix other games.

I have Raging Thunder 2 and works great on my Incredible, but on Gtablet, shows only half screen at the title and never gives options to load up. How did you get it to work?
Reports are it is an Nvidia issue and the current patch does not cover the problem. Did not for me, so I can agree with that assertion.
I am using TnT Lite 2.0.
Anyone else notice that is they hold the tablet upside down as using it while lying on your back, the touch screen has issues, very laggy, have to hold down my presses many times for it to register, like accessing apps I have to try three+ times to get it to work. When I rotate the device back to on my lap everything works great. Wondering if this has something to do with the G-Sensor hardware/software.

That 's what we concluded in our group too.
The G-sensor is not a defect, it 's the game design that use a different orientation.
If you look at Tom Clancy 's flight game and Raging thunder 2, the G sensor works properly.
What we worry the most is that if we do switch the machine's G-sensor output, we will have problem with newer game which designed with Tablet orientation in mind.
One of the developer in our group are actually mod the game itself so that the x-y axis are switched in the game app. This seems to be working quite well. He did about 10~15 games already.

You all are all correct to some point. The logical fix would be a sensor orientation option built into settings, since changing the orientation will fix some games and probably result in others being broken. Raging Thunder 2 is an example.
Where can we get said games?
I bought Raging Thunder 2. Nice game on G
You are probably referring to the modded games... Yeah- where do we get them?
I also have the sensor issue in my gallery. It makes it quite difficult to make selections. If it is just those games having this issue, how can I fix it in gallery?

What I want to know is how he got the clock/calendar to stay static on the background and not move when he swiped to the other homescreens - unless those were static images that were part of the background wallpaper. Great effect.
OK ... just a guess here, but having done some looking around, I think that is Typography Wall live wallpaper. It takes some tweaking to get it set how you want, but once you do, it just sits there on every screen. Had it on my DX, didn't like it that much. I think I like it now.
Very Nice
Thanks for showing us some of the things you can do on the xoom. Enjoyed.
great video. Its only going to get better

I do have to say that I lold when that flash page didnt work..
I've been on the beta since it was released and the official release for 24 hours and have had the following issues so far:
Sometimes when I take a picture I'll get duplicate images in both Gallery apps.
Sometimes touch controls in games like Angry Birds simply stop working. Sometimes a reboot will fix it, sometimes I need to power on and off. This is unacceptable IMHO.
Does anyone have any more they want to discuss? The issue with the touch controls may force me back to GB.
videocamera is l lilbit laggy
soundquality in videocamera is very low!

Please use the Search button! This thread is about ICS bugs.
The phone app is really heavy to load and the number search is laggy and slow!
Videocamera is slow and a bit laggy, i hope that someone could solve this
I checked some video details, before and after the system upgrade:
Gingerbread Videocamera: video: 29 fps audio 128 Kbs STEREO
ICS Videocamera: video : 28 or less fps audio 128 kbs MONO
Why this quality downgrade!?!?!?! Ehat's next? 3 Mpx photo?!
Videocamera might seem laggy but resulting videos are fine.
The real bug is 2D acceleration which is most obvious when dragging down notifications bar and scrolling in the app drawer. It is also noticeable in 2D games. For example, I get 59-63 FPS in GB while on ICS only 46-50 FPS.

Only thing I really hate, is that many games are impossible to play because of the "touch lag". For example Age of Zombies; I can't get past the main menu, because if I press "play", it won't register my touch. This happens in most of my games.

Game itself works quite normal sometimes, but the menu lags. It's not because of performance issues because some heavy 3d games work smooth.
someone can poste a sample video from the camera to see these lags ?
The lag problem (not so lag), could be solved diabling the video stabilizer. The real question is why the audio before the update was STEREO and now is MONO!!
Temple Run is another good example. Touch controls aren't recognized correctly in both the game and the game menus.

But it still sucks.
I've rebooted my device 3 times already today because Frisbee and Angry Birds wouldn't recognise any touches at all.

Anyone got problem using the email app to access Microsoft Exchange Active Sync? I got this "Waiting to Sync" message and the emails won't load.
I got a few video files (iTunes m4v) which was previously able to play using the native video player, I got an error msg that the format is not supported!?!?
Both the nexus 4 and the nexus 7 (2013) support slimport, which is very useful for mirroring the device to a big screen. However, neither device uses the standard 16:9 (1080p) aspect ratio. As a result, you end up with some cropping on a 1080p TV. For the nexus 4 it is even worse, since it outputs 768p upscaled to the TV's resolution.
However, the flexibility of android allows us to manually change the native resolution. In a console, we can type the command:
wm size 1080x1920
and the resolution will change. In the device screen the new resolution will look odd, however you now have true 1080p on the TV. To get back to the default resolution you type:
wm size reset
This solution works, but it is not very convenient. So I made two profiles for tasker, that automatically change the device resolution upon the connection of an HDMI cable and reset it when the cable is disconnected, thus automating the whole process.
I 'm attaching a screenshot of the two profiles, as well as a zip file so you can extract and import them in tasker.
In summary,
- you need root
- you need a ppi setting lower than 288 otherwise the navbar disappears
the HDMI plugged profile
- reduces the device brightness to minimize battery consumption
- increases volume
- sets resolution to 1080p
- enables WiFi
- sets display timeout to 10 hours
- activates display rotation
the HDMI un-plugged profile
- sets auto brightness back on
- resets screen resolution
- sets display timeout to 1min
These are optional settings that I found useful to automate, but they are all optional, and you can tweak them once you imported the profile to tasker.
I hope you find this useful!!! :good:
UPDATE: Your device must be set to a ppi lower than 288. I am using 286 myself. To change your ppi:
Open the build.prop file from /system/build.prop
using a text editor/buildprop editor app, change the value of ro.sf.lcd_density=286
save the file, reboot
dont work anymore
Thanks for sharing.. It worked for me in a long time but not it wont change anymore..
Do you know what i could get a conflict? have just installed apps and then last night i wont change resolution when i connect slimport and i cant seem to fix it
Thanks for this, I tried testing the wm size reset command in terminal emulator but for some reason the navbar icons disappear and only come back when I Power Off and restart the device again, I'm on 4.4.4 if it makes any difference.

I don't have that issue, however I'm also running at a lower PPI than the default. I'll try it out at stock PPI and see if I have any issues with the navbar. What is your setup? ROM, xposed, etc.

Stock rooted, qc optimized bionic+dalvik, latest dev preview gpu driver.
For the navbar to showup on my 40" tv in 1920x1080 I have to set the ppi to 288, 289+ it's hidden.
Using

http://pixeldensitycalculator.com
http://isthisretina.com
all say my ppi should be 55.07 though.

Thanks, I'm running on a ppi of 286 and everything works fine here as well. I will update the op to let people know that their ppi must be lower than 288 and add instructions on how to set that.
Im not sure if I can have the ppi change with tasker, however, people might be using a lower ppi permanently so having tasker switch it back to the default would suck.

I tested it yesterday. I changed size with command from OP, but there was problem with navbar, I lost navbar in landscape mode, it appears only in portrait mode. When I played video in MX Player I could not go back...
This is maybe because of ppi, which I did not change.

Yes, you lost the navbar because of your ppi setting. Either change your ppi to anything lower than 288 or use a pie navbar app like LMT (havent tried that though).
I havent found a way to change ppi without the need to reboot the device so I can add it to the tasker profile.

The wm command works perfectly with a Chromecast and you get the right resolution when mirroring. However, tasker cannot pick up when you do a screen cast (for now) so there is no way to automate the process (as far as I can tell).

I was struggling with my phone freaking out while doing video chat on either Teams and Duo. Both apps did the same thing and I provided feedback to their developers that it appeared to start on my note 20 ultra 5g when android 11 landed.
Today I realized that if I changed my video resolution for the phone display from FHD+ to WQHD+ the freezing stops altogether...
Anyone else able to test this out?
My video Resolution is set to 16:9 FHD 1920x1080 (30 fps) and I use Duo to TeleHealth VideoChat with two different Doctors on a regular basis with absolutely no problems! Works great - Android 11/OneUI 3.0. I don't use "Teams" - hate it!!!

I only have these three options
Yeah, that's screen resolution under "Display" - that's what I have also. What I was talking about was in Camera Video Settings! Open you're camera, go to settings and look for "Front Video Size" - select 16:9, then open the Resolution and see all the choices and grab what I said before.

I will have to check that out because that makes me wonder if the bug is a scaling issue between showing the preview of your camera on your display at different resolutions
I actually don't think one has anything to do with the other - my setting is probably what we're recording at to send to the other party!!! I have to log off so I'll check back later...
