Hi Guys, I have a windows mobile application that runs on WM6.1 and WM6.5. The devices are configured to lock after a given period of inactivity. I want to receive some kind of notification when the system lock screen activates.
Is there some system hook I can attach to to receive an event or something ?
Help much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,
I am trying out AKU2 with Push e-mail for my organisation. I want to implement a security policy that forces a PIN number and locks the screen after a period of no use. All works fine, so far so good.
However when the device is actively in use for something like tomtom GPS, even when powered externally. the screen lock cuts in requiring you to enter the PIN whilst driving, which clearly makes it unusable for GPS or really even as a carphone (although voice dialling on a bluetooth headset works even with the screen locked)
Does anyone know of a solution to prevent the lock kicking in whilst on external power?
Thanks
Richard
I have the same problem here. It makes TomTom unuseable after 30 min. Mostly I'll drive a little further than that!
Does anyone else has this problem, and hopefully an solution?
This is another aspect of the upgrade that I hate (in addition to the fact that you can't get vibrating notifications of emails while the device is in standby).
It's a problem for a lot of people....
I've updated my Universal to the AKU ROM and I'm having the same problem with TomTom, iGuidance, and OncourseNavigator (aka. Navigon). I don't know of a solution yet. I'm hoping someone will write a little application that will allow the user to specify "if program 'a' is running, prevent the screen lock. When program 'a' shuts down (i.e. exits), then re-start the timer for the screen lock").
I'd be willing to pay a lot of money for an application like that right now....
Same Problem
Same problem here in the german QTek ROM.
What about collecting a bug-list (No vibration on push email, Lock screen problem....) in the forum and sending this to QTek?

Is'nt it possible to make that same application to force a screenlock by pressing a hardkey? (on my work the phone is laying on my desk and i dont like that someone read my mail, msn or hotmail.
When there is an application which can do that, i don't have to use the automatic screenlock and there is no problem anymore when using Tom TOm

The problem with AKU2 policy is that the administrator of the exchange server decides whether you use the automatic screenlock and how long it locks after, the length of the password etc etc... The settings are greyed out after the 1st time you connect to your exchange server... so you no longer have a choice on the automatic screenlock...

And it even stays like that after you have deleted the exchangeserver!!!!
So watch out trying to connect to your companies server with your mobile device. I think a hardreset is the only way to get rid of this annoying pin.
I am looking for an app to have this feature, not to lose the first warning. Can someone help me?
Thanks
DontForget?

Dontforget is only for windows mobile devices.
Hi,
I have observed this on at least two different devices (Samsung Omnia 2, HP Glisten) running WinMo 6.5, so it doesn't seem to be a device specific issue.
If I have an email account set to check automatically at a certain interval, say every 10 minutes, each time that interval arrives, the messaging application opens itself and comes to foreground as the active application. This happens whether I am currently using the device to do something else (like surf the web etc) or whether the device is left in sleep/standby mode with the screen completely off. The next time I wake the device up, assuming that email check interval as elapsed, I will find the messaging app open as the currently active one.
It doesn't happen if messaging is already open and in the background, but if it's completely closed it will always open and bring itself to the foreground, before proceeding to check for email. None of my older WinMo 6.1 devices ever did this, and were capable of checking email silently without opening the messaging app. The today screen plugin would always update to indicate new messages, but the app didn't physically open each and every time.
Is there any known fix for this? Note that both devices demonstrating this behaviour are running WM 6.5, rather than 6.5.3 and both are using unmodified regular stock roms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks...
All the rom-cooking, registry-tweaking, device-hacking wizards in the realm and not a one has any insight into this irritating bug? It did not exist under WinMo 6.1 and does not seem present in 6.5.3 either, but is definitely common across WM 6.5 devices.
Anyone, anyone... Bueller?
I'm trying to get Mobile Justice working on my HD2 but apparently MJ can't activate the GPS because whenever I send my phone a text message requesting the phone's position, nothing happens until I manually start the phone's GPS (by starting Google Maps or some other navigation software for instance). Only then will it send back a text message with its coordinates.
I also installed MJ on my Touch Diamond and on that MJ works perfectly. I send the phone a text message requesting its position and within a few minutes I receive a response from the phone.
So anyone else using MJ on their HD2 and experience the same problem? Were you able to solve it? If not, is there an alternative to MJ?
I just did a bit more testing and contrary to what I said before, it's not necessary to start some kind of GPS application first to have MJ send its position, but it is necessary to switch the phone ON.
Before you say that of course the phone needs to be on, I mean it needs to be active. So when it "switches off" automatically after not using the phone for a minute, it won't respond to a location request text message.
So if I just loose the phone, it's not possible to get its position (because it will not be active then).
Try remotetracker, free and by far the most feature rich app of this type.

I did, it doesn't work on my HD2 (it won't send an SMS when I change the SIM card).
Any other alternatives perhaps?
Hi all
Does anyone know if you can disable the remote control notifications on galaxy S5.
Once you have find my mobile on , if you go to the Samsung galaxy website and login to track or find your mobile it send a notification to the found phone
You can see it when you pull the screen down to read the notifications
It says phone found on find my mobile (or something similar)
I don't see the reason for I think it's silly,
How do you disable this? I tried everything I could, I need help
Please help
