If I browse to a website that has streaming audio (radio) and I switch away from that, the sound (and video) stop. I briefly tried opera, but it didn't play flash for me and also did not render pages correctly. Maybe this dolphin hd will do what I want?
Rob
I don't think multitasking mean to can listen music from the browser when you are doing something...
Try using
TuneIn (just an example) it's a streamed music application (many many radio)
that works perfect
and best you can browse and do somthing else
There Is a active tab add on for dolphin HD browser. It lets you keep background tabs open. Youbcsn even choose for how long in its setting
Tab reload is the add on I have not tried but seen someonebelse say it will work

Hi,
I've just installed the latest WM6 rom on my 8525 and also installed Flash player 7 along with the java addons. I've tried viewing videos from youtube and mtv from both internet explorer and opera mini 4 beta 3 but any video i click it always says flash player not installed and click here to go to adobe etc.... Can someone help me configure it so I can play flash videos? thanks
cmon, somebody has to have an answer for this. I can't load any videos on standard pages for myspace, mtv, youtube, etc. it says javascript is either turned off or you dont have the right player. I downloaded flashplayer 7. Running mini opera 4 beta 3 and pocket IE as well as picsel browser.
Mobile browsers not designed for video
Neither of the browsers you are trying are capable of displaying flash based videos. The Opera Mini will probably never support them because it is a Java based browser for use on most any phone. There is a Windows Mobile Opera that is in beta, last I heard, that claims to support flash based videos, however the only thing I could get it to do was crash my 8525, forcing me to soft reset, at which time I then uninstalled it completely. As you will see in the instructions at one of the links below, there is one more file you can download that will play the videos, which seems to be accomplished through the link from internet explorer triggering the thirdparty app to open and strat trying to play the video.
You could try the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326225, however I have not tried them and can not confirm for you if they work.
The way I currently play these type files is using a program called AvotMV. AvotMV has a internet browser type feel to it, and when you play the videos it will automatically play them "full" screen (in portrait mode). If you want to try AvotMV, you can download it for free from the developers here here http://www.avotmedia.com/
the tcpmp and flashbundle works beautifuly. especially on a highspd connection. the newest version givesthe choice dowloading or streaming it. You will have to unistall flash7 as it will clash with flashbundle plugin. I posted awhile back if some could figure out how to get them to work together or at least independently on different browsers because the tmpcp flash plugin will only play videos not other flash content.
That explains it...
I have the official flash 2.1 from adobe for WM5/6 which allows me to use one of the spinning cube flash controllers. Would be nice if someone could figure it out because this does not look like it will work for me until a fix is made.
Hey all,
I've noted that the recent iteration of Chrome behaves oddly when hitting on a video link.
For example, if I go to ESPN and hit on the play button, I'd hear the audio part in the video, but no video. The only way to get it to work is to get the link to launch in a new tab in order to select the video player that I want. This never happened before. My defaults are properly set.
Any thoughts on what this could be due to?
Thanks~
in chrome, mines show a pop up of what I want to use play the video. whether I want to use a browser, MXplayer, Stickit mediaplayer, or overscreen browser. it doesn't do it on all videos but I think its the ones not optimized for html5. or if its a flash type.
Hi guys,
Rooted (CF-Root)
Stock Samsung Firmware: I9505XXUAMDE (Vodafone NZ)
I have installed Adobe Flash 11 using one of the many .apk files found on numerous websites (pretty sure I got it from XDA) but I'm having some weird issues. On my S2 I had no problem watching streamed videos using Dolphin and installing Flash Player after they dropped support, it still worked fine.
With my S4 however, something weird happens.
When I go to the website for the video, the video itself will be black and nothing plays.. once i tap the black area 3-4 times the video will start playing but I can't see any video controls, there's no pause, no progress bar, no volume.. nothing.
I thought I'd try a different browser, using the stock browser I can't stream the video directly from the page, but it opens the video and streams it using the phones media player app... I prefer this, the video is clearer and you have direct control over the video.
However, I still want to fix the problem above, because I prefer using Dolphin over the Stock browser :\ Could this be an issue with Dolphin? but that makes no sense because it works fine on my S2? has anyone had this problem?
tldr: dolphin streams videos but no video controls appear, stock browser streams the videos fine but does it via samsungs media player on the device
appreciate any help.

Tried firefox, dolphin, and chrome. Chrome was the only one where I could do searches but it has tons of functionality ripped out ie no tabs and I still haven't figured out how to go back.
Uninstalling is the same as any android device. Go into settings > apps > find chrome > uninstall.
I found a 11.3.0 version of the Dolphin browser with Leanback support here: https://plus.google.com/communities/103510820500984874818/s/dolphin?partnerid=gplp0 Namely, the file named mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser-2.apk in one of the posts. The file installs fine in my rooted Nexus Player and an icon for the Dolphin browsers shows up on the Leanback launcher see pict. The program starts, but the browser is only able to load a couple sites, namely cnn.com and just a couple others see pict. When I try to go to other sites like google.com or facebook.com all I get is a blank page see pict. After entering the URL the Dolphin progress bar moves quickly to the right, but then slows down to a crawl and slowly continues to the right, but never loads the site. The Internet connection is fine, I can load all sites using Chrome browser without a problem, but I'm use to working with Dolphin on Android. Chrome on the Nexus Player does not allow tabs, but Dolphin does. Anyone else testing this Dolphin Leanback browser on their Nexus Player with different results?... I understand that this version appears to be modified specifically for the ADT-1, but given that it loads cnn.com, I can't understand why it won't load other sites.
Has anyone found a newer version of Dolphin with Leanback support?
Btw, to work with this browser you'll need a mouse and keyboard. I'm using a K400r keyboard with a trackpad. The Nexus Player remote does not work. If after the installation you get stuck on ads screens the first time you run it (flipping to a black screen)... click and hold the mouse button and swipe to the left to navigate to the Welcome (Start) screen.
FYI - The problem I was having with Dolphin 1.3.0 with Leanback on my Nexus Player was being caused by the Dolphin Jetpack. I disabled the Jetpack and the problem loading pages went away. I guess I lost the functions provided by the Jetpack (e.g. flash support), but at least I can load pages now.
I hope Google or some third party is working on a web browser that can be used with just the NP remote, Having to "always" go for the keyboard to navigate the web is not convenient. For the small amount of web browsing that I do using the TV bookmarks, up/down - left/right navigation plus access the on-screen keyboard to enter URLs and to fill a couple forms should be enough.
I also have a Logitech Revue (GTV) that came with a neutered version of Chrome. I believe copyright laws were the main reasons why Google did not developed the GTV Chrome browser further. With a couple of hacks it's barely able to play flash videos. Streaming content directly to the big screen has always been something that content owners are reluctant to allow without a fee.
I need help.
My phone is not asking me to select a "player" when I try to watch a video. This is happening on all of my browsers (chrome, dolphin, and stock internet browser) and the video plays on the "built in" player like a desktop would (I'm not on desktop mode, though). Any ideas?
Default Applications?
