i have a problem on my touch 3g slide i have upgrade his firmware from 2.1 to 2.2 but now when i try to open my htc it give me enter sim lock code so if there is any way to free unlock it plz help me as soon as you can thkx in advance and sorry for my double post

Have you tried a different SIM card?
I believe the SIM lock follows the SIM card.

i responded to you on the other thread, like tayseery said, it's your sim card that's locked. so you either have to call your carrier to unlock the sim card (free of charge), call htc to buy an unlock code, or use the original sim card.

Faulty sim or hardware.
After looking at Image , it seems your SIM card is not detected at all...
Have you tried same sIM in different mobile phone? Does it work?

Hello there, have entered the correct SIM for your phone, if it is NOT T-Mobile, it will not work if you don't unlock it. Can you give me the details of where you bought the phone, what carrier, etc.

Hi I have a HTC legend its touch screen has started hanging. I did the factory reset but no use. When i dont insert a SIM in the phone it works fine but when a SIM is used the touch hangs.... I feel its a software issue can some one help .....pls
maybe your SIM needs to be replaced for a new one? have u tried any other SIM card in your phone? if you try a different SIM and the screen don't hang , then u should ask your provider for a new SIM

Yeah that might solve it but still I don't think it should do that because of a SIM card ;s

if you are a customer in good standing with t-mobile you may be able to call or e-mail them and ask them for the unlock code. I have done it with 2 BB devices that i own. They replied back via e-mail within 2 days
I purchased a sim unlock from ebay but they informed me that since my phone was rooted i wouldnt be able to in put the sim unlock code. Nor could i browse the phone to find this.
Does anyone know how toi bring the screen up to enter code? or anyone confirm that its impossible to unlock sim after rooting, thanks
Just flash a fruit cake and it will ask for sim unlock code or maybe dial #073887*.

Well in my dial pad i input those numbers, but its acting as if im trying to palce a call. i have to press send for it to do anything and it says number cannot be dialed, etc...
so i cant get the sim box to open to ask for the unlock code

So i only needed to insert a working sim card not from the carrier originally. and it asked me for sim unlock number.

Can you tell where you purchased your unlock code from?
two very easy ways to get unlock code. First and legit way, i went to ATT website where phone service originally is from and on their site they will give you unlock code for free as long as your device is registered there.
second is a simple ebay search for cheapest sim unlock service. they usually send you the code within 30 minutes - 12 hours depending on time of day you purchase.
AT&T was actually pretty cool about the SIM unlock codes. The customer service rep gave me not only the unlock code for my Atrix, but also my and my girlfriend's old HTC Arias that I'm giving to my family in Chile.
