i have a htc touch 3g i got unlocking codes form orange but when i put a new sim card in it it said u have tried 10times please wait until timeout how long is that? plz help

ok that whats happen i bought my htc 7 months ago there was sim lock on orange need to unlock it for o2 pay on ebay and got it unlocket by some code with i had to put
phone was working perfect till one day... one week ago no signal! still can connect with internet but no possible to make phone call or send msg!

For first, sorry for my bad english...
I bought HTC TOUCH HD (from Orange UK) from second hand.
I have problem, I don't know if it is SIM locked or it is another problem...I explain..
So, when I insert Orange Slovakia sim card, phone show me all local networks but when I select ORANGE and input PIN code then phone try register to network, but ..... UPDATE: Now, Phone can register to network, but I cannot make call and message send.
When I insert another sim card (T-mobile, O2) Slovakia then phone doesn't accept card and show me message: "The Sim card is missing".
So, I don't know what can I solve this problem...
Last question:
I would like to change to original ROM, but I don't know which is exactly for my phone. I've read that I must search ROM for "S/N", but for my S/N I didn't found.
I have SN : HT91AKD0*****. Can you tell me which original ROM is exactly for my HD??

I think your problem is much similar to mine. I got one HTC Touch HD from my brother (Orange UK). when i start using this phone in india it won't work becoz it was lock with orange. I unlock this phone from market and now i can use it with vodafone in india. I was always facing network issue and best thing was after unlock also it shows me only UK networks but i can make and receive call but most of the time i was having bad network issue.
Thanks to XDA Developers ROM wiki page which helps me out to find right ppl with right ROM and i updated my ROM after that i solved lots of performance issue and of course network issue also. Now I'm Using this handset in USA with T-Mobile and best thing is whenever i go to other country and try any SIM card it will detect their settings automatically and give me best connectivity.

I asked help for almost same problem and i got lots of reply. Make sure you read more before changing your ROM and you should know everything about ROMs.

Hi I have a HTC legend its touch screen has started hanging. I did the factory reset but no use. When i dont insert a SIM in the phone it works fine but when a SIM is used the touch hangs.... I feel its a software issue can some one help .....pls
maybe your SIM needs to be replaced for a new one? have u tried any other SIM card in your phone? if you try a different SIM and the screen don't hang , then u should ask your provider for a new SIM

Yeah that might solve it but still I don't think it should do that because of a SIM card ;s
hi all ive got my phone last week on contract with vodaphone the phone allready came unlocked so i could put another sim card in the prob im having at the min is when i put my other Virgin Contract Sim card in it there are no 3G settings for it could anybody help please with the Apn setting please for it thanks

Have you tried a different SIM card?
I believe the SIM lock follows the SIM card.

i responded to you on the other thread, like tayseery said, it's your sim card that's locked. so you either have to call your carrier to unlock the sim card (free of charge), call htc to buy an unlock code, or use the original sim card.
