Well, I just had my G2 replaced today from T-Mobile, and to tell you the truth my new G2 has been working better than my pre-release one. Even the hinge is good. Oh, and the new Youtube works great!

Mine works perfectly HQ and Non-HQ.
Mine kinda freezes up and I have to restart..

It crashed on me the first time I used it after my install. Very troublesome..
Likewise its a major problem with the g2 I checked a lot of the market comments they're saying the same thing so I uninstalled
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Yup....I just tried it, and it crashed
I uninstalled the update and now it's fine. I hope they fix this soon cause I really like the new UI
I just tried it and it lagged the phone when I quit the app. Everything was responding incredibly slowly - about 15 seconds to flip from one launcher page to the next.
I was finally able to execute a power off sequence and reboot the phone. When it was done booting and the widgets had all settled down I tried viewing the same video again (the "I want an iPhone" animated video) and everything was fine until I quit the video and then the phone was wedged again (15 seconds to switch home pages).
Time to uninstall (if my phone ever reboots)...
works fine here
Thanks guys! Looks like it's split pretty evenly for the most part.
One more question for those that visit other parts of xda - heard anything of the same thing happening on other phones?
At this point, it seems like a big issue, I hope t-mobile posts an update soon.
Its google not T-Mobile

I just recently installed the latest version of YouTube and it's working great. Prior to that, it wasn't logging me into my google account but this new one is running fine.

tried the app twice and both times I had to pull the battery out to reboot the phone. Super lag. Uninstalled the update and the stock works great

Either or can do it. T-mobile through an OTA (they've had to do this before for an issue), or the app creator. It all depends on the circumstance. I'm betting the fix will come from tmobile's side though. Not that I would depend on them, I just have a hunch.
Eveything is working fine here. On a side note the people that are having probelms are you logged in?
I remeber back on my g1 I had problems with youtube only when I was sign in
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
hi i didnt want to start a new post but i have a prob with youtube i was going to upload a 4min video from my g2 but it keeps saying you can not upload a video larger than 1gb i know a 4min vid is not over 1g can anyone give me a hand im not new to android so i know something is set wrong are im missing something
Its probably an HD video and Id assume the mobile youtube version does not allow you to upload that large of a file. Your best bet, upload it to your computer and to do it from their.
i cant even find the vid on the phone with my pc how do i get in to the gallery the vid says location unknown and its not showing a file size i took the vid on the g2s camera

We need a cab for modded froyos that can't get this OTA.
http://a.yfrog.com/img69/4670/asy.pngI'm a modded froyo user and it showed up for me

Im running stock Froyo FRG83D and have not received the updated market.
What version does your market show as in your application settings?
Market 1.82
Sent from my Nexus One
This is the same as was seen in the Gingerbread video, hmm.. http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...i-gets-exposed-in-the-crispest-video-to-date/
I am 83 not 83d. I'm on a cyanogen nightly. Happened after I updated my flash.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Interesting, so it seems this is not related to the 2.12 update that came with FR83D, and somehow they are remotely activating it. I have 1.82 and have not seen the new tab yet.
Is it on all the apps in the market or just some?
All the apps

Mine's 1.82 as well but I'm not seeing any related tab. Will try installing Flash.
Edit : Confirmed, Flash reveals it.
might be related to a restart then I'll try that
Update flash
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Weird, I updated flash earlier on and haven't seen it yet, maybe its just installing any app?
Well just installed epicurious and still no extra tab, will try reinstalling flash.
Was themes under apps menu there before ?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
My market still doesn't have the similar tab and I see themes so yeah it probably was.
It might be slowly pushed out instead of being tied to the flash update. Or it might be both .
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I had neither Flash nor the similar tab... installed Flash, then I had both. Weird.
Installed Flash, cleared Market cache, rebooted and still nothing. So it must be a slow rollout.
ok so i updated to GB and love the new blur. however i still went around theming it but after a few things i noticed my social widgets werent updating and wasnt letting me update them even tho i had my info in it correct. So i tried flashing the original .apks i had themed then it bootlooped so i sbf'd to the old froyo, so im stock right data/factory reset too. entered my twitter stuff and the old blur social widget still isnt working correctly, am i the only one having these problems?
edit: reflashed rootedgb.zip working fine now lets see what happens when i re-flash gbrooteddeodexed.zip
Please let me know your findings, I'm having the same problem after installing the deodexed gb. I did not test it on the nondeodxed rooted version but it worked great on the original gb leak.

idk half the time i flash they work half the time they dont im still not sure
Same thing here. I used sbf and reinstalled gbroot and gdeodex, then my market wouldn't sync but social networking worked. I had hoped third time would be the charm but now I'm back to square one. Anyone else out there have this issue or know a fix?
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
ok one thing i noticed and kinda forgot, go to settings > battery & data manager > battery mode > performance mode, otherwise it wont continual sync, i think thats part of the problem, cuz when u first load it puts it in battery saver mode
I tried that and it hasn't worked. My problem is slightly different than yours though. It will push thru link posts or picture posts, but no status updates or tweets from anyone. Makes no sense at all!

ok also I think it might have to do with restoring with TB i think we need to do app only I think restoring data messes up stuff like before... my wireless seems to be broken
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
You may be on to something with TB. I didn't actually restore anything with it but just redownloading it in the first place may have caused issues.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Yeah I ran in to the same issue.
So after upgrading from Nexus One to Nexus S, I expected all of my Nexus One apps to be automatically restored from google account on Nexus S. But it's not happening. Only 25 out of 100+ apps get restored.
On Nexus One I did wipes multiple times and all apps would restore automatically. Why is it not happening after upgrade to Nexus S?
Under my market account all N1 apps are listed. Nexus One is running CM7. On Nexus S I tried both stock and CM7 and it makes no difference to the restore outcome.
I didnt even know apps would restore.until i updated to 2.3.3 but updating to 2.3.4 didnt auto instal the apps, sadly.any wat to turn this on??

My Nexus restored my apps when I switched from the evo.... it's a market feature but I honestly don't know nor have I searched to try and enable/disable it

From my experience with the desire, only the apps which you have downloaded from the official android market are restored when you sync your phone with a newly flashed rom.

Almost all of the 100+ apps were installed on the old phone via official android market. They all are listed under my market account. But only small subset of them gets automatically reinstalled on a new phone.
The key difference here is that I want them restored on a new phone. When reflashing on the old phone, all 100+ apps get restored without any problems.

It can be turned on/off in the Settings > Privacy -> Back up my data. Also, when first time booting after wipe, the setup wizard shows dialog where this backup/restore can be disabled (it's enabled by default).
I like the feature.. Makes flashing roms cake..
What Google should do though is let you choose WHEN that restore happens and give you the option to start it manually. Coming from a fresh rom it starts the restore process on 3G service. Then you have to rush to flip on Wifi so you're not trying to download 43 apps on Sprints dialup 3G service so a few will be cut out during the transition from 3G to Wifi..
Still beats the crap out of the old way of restoring your apps.
Yeah, there should be google backup/restore native app that gives more control to the user on what and when to backup/restore.
Even better, the web market account should allow to select multiple apps and then send them to the device. Right now this is possible only for one app at a time.
Titanium ftw
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App
The same thing happens on my phone. I disabled it and just use Titanium Backup because the google backup was too unpredictable..
For rooted users, titanium is a good solution. But it sucks that for the non-rooted ones, the feature that is part of the OS behaves so unpredictably.
god... i just did a fresh install of 2.3.5...flashed radio, new kernal ect....everything is fine, but now i get on the market place and a few of my apps arnt to be found.. i have a evo also, when i search with that pbone it seems to find them ok.. my nexus seems to be giving me diferent results... is this normal??

Yep - it's keyed off of the build signature. Just wait a few days until the market servers are updated for the new build that was OTA'd. This happens with seemingly every OTA (happened on the Nexus One as well). Mainly protected apps will be missing.
happened to me everything synced up except for apps did a factory reset and everything came back. i was pissed when all that showed were my paid apps but after the reset all apps paid and free appeared and restored on their own.
Instead of doing a total data wipe go through settings_apps_manage apps and wipe data and cache for just the market app. alot less headaches ;p
