[Q] Htc Blackstone:spl 1.56.olinex please help - Touch HD General

hey,guys
how are u doing, hope all are right with u
i have an htc blackstone, am noob but am trying to learn about flashing.
since i was bored with wm6.1 i wanted badly to have wm6.5 or android on my htc at least for a change,i tried many roms, and my screen is freezinge and not responding all time,i mean with the process of flashing it's fine but when everything is done, the rom works but the screen freeze,so i need to know how to update this hspl 1.56 or any other solution that will allow me to use wm6.5 or any good rom.please help i was suffering for 3 days now,and can't get anything smooth
Cherrs,
Yassine

first, enter bootloader mode by shutting down the device completely, then pressing vol down and power and have a look at the 4 colored screen. it will show your current spl. please post that here.
since you already tried different roms, i assume it is hspl 1.56 already.
hspl is meant for unlocking your device to all kinds of roms, like roms from other countries (if your device is not a native wwe device).
it does not affect the speed of roms, it just makes it possible to flash and boot them at all.
things you can do to speed up your device, is perform a task 29 before flashing and perform several hard resets after flashing. probably your device is still carrying around waste from previous operating systems which makes it slow and unstable.
also, any cooked rom found here will perform slower than the stock rom you are used to but the trouble you describe is beyond the expected.

Thx Tony ,i appreciate your replay.this what it shows on the bootloader screen:
Blac100 32 m
Spl-1.56.olinex
microp-blackstone(led)V6
this displayed on the red part,of the bootloder,no info in the green and blue one,and usb showed on the white one down
As i told you i tried various rom, i even tried the original one which i download from htc website, the phone was working smoothly before, but after flashing, the room are installed, but the screen touch is not responding anymore,is there any way to get back the phone to the original setting,or any solution like compatible rom with spl 1.56 oilnex,i can't use that phone anymore ,only voulme button and power one works for the moment, please help me to fix those issues
i already perform task 29 and i cleaned the whole things, but still the some issue
best regards

strange
if it was a bad rom flash, it would be fixed after a reflash of a new rom or even a task29.. defo not rom related.
are you sure you have not droppend your device recently because its starting to sound like it is a hardware issue = lcd/digitizer
to be honest i cannot see this being a hardware issue either, if the device was fine before you flashed a new rom
*but i could be wrong
my personal opinion would be to try a couple more custom roms, if it still does not respond to touch then its time you opened your device and took a look inside..

Backlight down?!

Hey guys,
I've got a really annoying problem with my backlight.
First it starts to "shut down" for a while, i thought it whas some kind of protection cause it was under direct sunlight for a while ... but now i flashed the new german rom, (RUU_BlackStone_HTC_GER_1.56.407.2_Radio_52.60.25.3 3_1.12.25.16DE_Ship) but i forgot to flash the right HSPL before so I'd some colour problems ... then I flashed everything in the right order and it works ... but after some minutes the backlight is turned to a minimum ... its on but nearly not visible ... same thing after a hardreset
pls help
No one an idea ? Should it be a hardware defekt ?!
Have you tried going to settings > Power > and then either Backlight or Advanced and delselect 'turn off backlight'
yes i tried it out but nothing happens ... i read that this problem appears on the diamond and that its a bug in the htc rom after flashing .... could it be the same ?

Possibly, but I haven't experienced it and I flash new roms every other day. You said you followed correct procedure i.e. everything in the right order and flashed a new rom. Which HSPL are you using and which rom? i.e. is it HSPL 1.56+ and a 1.56 based rom?
Is your screen darkening after some minutes straight after you have flashed new rom, or after installation of new software?
yea its the HSPL 1.56+ and a 1.56 based rom, some minutes after flashing its gone dark, no software installed. maybe I made a mistake, how can I see what HSPL version ?
I tried to install LUMOS but even this can't handle the problem ...
After installation of any new rom, the backlight turns off after a few seconds/mins. But this is generally down to the power settings as described above. For your screen to still turn off automatically afterwards leads me to believe there is something else turning off backlight. Even when installing rom incorrectly back when I was a noob the screen didn't behave in this mannner. I'll rack my brain and get a cup of coffee and see if my memory comes back
I'm starting to go crazy....
I flashed serveral times other ROMs and finaly the stock SPL and my damn stock O2 Rom, I wonder why the backlight is the whole time down, even in SPL... now I decided to bring it back to the store... btw I hope they fix the little shadow on the right cornor of the screen, looking like cigarrete somke stuck in there and lay down on the top of the screen ... maybe some hardware blown up?!

Blackstone Busted?

Guys,
I have an interesting issue that I hope someone can help me resolve. I recently upgraded the rom on my blackstone, and it appeared sucessfull, at first. A few hours later, it looked like the phone had done its normal "screen blank" from non use, however, i could not get the display to return.
I have done everything I can think of to recover from this - removed the battery for DAYS at a time, replaced the battery with a new one, etc..
If I power up the phone, I can use the pocket Controller-Pro s/w to see the device, but i can not see the display on the device itself.
I think I need to restore the FACTORY boot loader and rom, but I am having problems finding a method.
Any Advice?

Personally I would try and get it into bootloader and flash back stock rom, but as you only have a black screen you can only guess its in bootloader. Either turn on device whilst holding vol down or let phone boot up and use SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.exe to force it into bootloader. Then restore stock SPL and stock rom. When phone is connected to pc via usb you'll know it's flashing by watching flash % on pc screen

Thanks. Does anyone remember/have a link to the "factory" spl? I have the stock rom for the phone, but im not sure about the spl.
Kind of a noob question but, does SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.exe work with other versions of HTC phones? I ask because while I have a Jade clone, I will soon be upgrading to a Blackstone clone.

You don't actually need to go back to original SPL, just to a stock one, i.e. latest 1.54.0000 would suffice
Read bottom of first post in this thread. Stock SPL's can also be found in first post

White screen after flashing!!

Hi all,
I have a Treo Pro GSM, and have been loving the phone moreso ever since the custom ROM scene started improving! Thanks to Cmonex, Nightraven and Heechee for all their hard work!
Unfortunately, last week, my Treo decided to just white screen on me. I think I did everything right ... upgraded to HardSPL, and then used the Custom RUU that came with each respective Custom ROM.
I installed Nightraven and it worked well ... even did the hard reset after flashing. I then installed Heechee's newest build (forgotten the number), and then flashed, but shortly after this... the white screen appeared. Now all I see is a white screen. Even when I put it into tri-color mode, all I see it Whitescreen. I know it's in bootloader mode however, because I am able to flash roms and enter MTTY.
I can hear windows mobile start up and I think the touchscreen responds to my pressing, but nothing shows onscreen.
I have even tried replacing the LCD and the same thing happens.
Tried MTTY as well ... did tasks 32, 28, 29 55aa and all went through ok, but no improvements.
Tried to reinstall HardSPL, Original 6.1 ROM and back to NightRaven.
None of these made any improvements.
Is there anything else I can try? Or is this now a hardware issue?
I don't have warranty anymore
Thanks,

Uh oh, HD2 might be bricked/broken?

Hi all,
Hoping someone can help!
OK, first of all I'll admit quite openly that my knowledge of flashing and so on isn't what you'd call strong so any accusations of being a n00b are warranted and accepted.
I got my HD2 in Jan and I'd flashed a few handsets before without issue so flashed the HD2 pretty much straight away and played with some ROM's and so on and settled on one (from memory Dutty ROM) and everything was fine, the phone was stable and everything was good.
Then 2 weeks the handset started acting oddly. I hadn't changed anything (as far as I'm aware) but the phone starting freezing, restarting and so on. I'd have to take the battery out to restart it (and sometimes leaving the battery out for a while before it'd boot up.) When it froze the area around the bottom of the battery would also warm up. I'd also notice that if I tried doing something on the handset it would restart - almost as if I was putting to much "strain" on the handset and it went *bang*.
I decided to hard reset the phone and it went back to original form. Now, I'll again admit this is probably down to my lack of knowledge, I assumed this put the handset back to a factory state but this is probably not the case (it certainly looked like it but some signs suggested it hadn't).
This seemed to improve things a little but the problems just came back. As I'd flashed it and put on the HSPL I thought the warranty was now invalid so thought I'd try and "fix" it myself.
Big mistake.
Or was it?
I think the phone has an issue with power or something like that as it freezes as I've said. And it did this while I was trying to flash a ROM. Panic then set in.
Basically my handset is now in a state where it'll boot into the bootloader (power and Vol down) three colour splash screen and it'll do the white HTC "normal" boot up screen but nothing else.
I can connect to the handset via RUU and I can run:
Task 29
however this doesn't run and finish gracefully most of the time. It'll stick on 99% or 100% or sometimes it'll moan about not being able to do this on this handset.
Any ROM I now try to flash on it using the exe's or RUU (I've not tried them all, granted!) starts and stick at a certain percentage. The Artemis ROM sticks at 12%, Official 1.43 WWE ROM sticks at 0% and Leon ROM sticks at 9%. Eventually they'll time out with an error. Unfortunately I left the handset at work so cannot state which error(s) I get when trying to flash a ROM.
So, after boring the hell out of you, is the handset terminally ill in your opinion? I really do think that there could be a faulty power button/general power issue with the handset (just a feeling I've got) but from my brief reading I'm not 100% sure.
Is there anything I could do? At the moment it's completely unusable so any suggestions on getting it into a working state? Ideally I'd like to get it into a state where I could return it to O2 UK and not have them flag the fact it's been flashed.
Any help gratefully received!
can you get into bootloader? if so, check the spl.
if it is 1.42.0000 or 1.66.0000 then the warranty is fine.
if the spl ends .hspl then connect to usb and run hspl 2.
choose whatever was your stock spl (one that ends 0000, 1.42.0000 most likely)
reboot to boot loader, and confirm the spl ends 0000 and you will be fine.
have same problem!
my hd2 freezed on startup screan, boot screan, sometime donot start - only black screan, after rom flash 99percent or 100percet once freezed when i return stock rom and spl, sometime dont want to boot with 1.42hspl, next time with 1.66, but my experinece is :
1.
-with 2.08hspl allways start
-uninstal your hd2 driver on your computer! restart your computer install after that, with windows update,
-same with bootloader mode, uninsta, driver on your computer, restart your comp, and install it
-turn off your antivirus protector when install any rom, and your run as administrator in windows 7,vista.
2. use other pc if this dont help
3. the problam can be with battery pins under cover.
some people write there with pins problem, they have screaved pins and hd2 dont want boot or start or have same problems
its my secondary problem
if u want u can use clasical gum ereaser and lightly clean pins and battery conectors...
its help for better contact
donot take the pins with wet hands!!
its can make litle corosi..
i belive its help to you
sorry for my english
lol its come to me on twitter

Samsamuel, you're an utter *star*.
Now back to 1.42.0000. I can blag O2 now if needs be in regards to the handset (tried upgrading to 1.72, USB cable came out, phones shagged, give me a new one, etc) without them getting funny about it if needs be.
Will try upgrading to 1.72 stock O2 ROM and see what happens.
Thanks again Samsamuel, I owe you a pint!
I have the exact same problem.
The screen freezes for a while, and then the device reboots.
Usually it's stuck on the white (with green "HTC") screen after that, the red text doesn't show up.
If I remove the battery and leave the device alone for a while (cool down?) it boots past the white screen (although it's highly likely that it crashes again when I enter my pin).
At first this was only happening when I was watching some video's with coreplayer, but now it's just happening all the time, even when it's in my pocket.
I just finished flashing a stock rom, but it's even worse now
9 out of 10 times it doesn't even make it to the pin screen, and I have spend about 2 minutes total actually in windows mobile.
Brood, it sounds like your issue is hardware related, I would contact htc too look into getting it repaired.
Just an update from OP.
Thanks for the link ilijan, very interesting.
I spoke to O2 business tech support yesterday and deliberately asked whether anyone else was complaining of this issue. They said no but I'm unsure whether I believe them and whether this was just the corporate line.
After setting my SPL back to 1.42.0000 I tried flashing to 1.72 stock and this did work. Every other ROM I tried wouldn't work. Even with the official ROM it's still freezing/restarting.
Getting a refurb today.
Thanks to all that responded/helped. Appreciated.

my htc hd2 is STUCK.. HELP ME PLS

I bought an HTC HD2 FEW WEEKS BACK FROM ONE OF MY FRIEND.
I DO NOT HAVE THE HISTORY OF WHAT HE TRIED TO DO WITH IT.
BUT BECAUSE IT WAS STUCK/DEAD , HE GAVE TO ME FOR CHEAP.
NOW THIS PHONE IS UNDER WARRANTY TILL AUG-2012 AND IS FROM VODAFONE.
(EVEN AFTER INSTALLING ANDROID IT IS VOID)
HE MUST HAVE TRIED SEVERAL ROM/HSPL TO GET TO THIS POINT.
PROBLEM:
When I power up the phone, it displays a NRG LOGO SCREEN (energize software), and it gets stuck on it forever.
When I do hold the volume down + power button, then it comes up with the three colour screen and it says SPL-2.08.0000, AND also says rom update failed (only if i try to install and then start up)
The phone does connect through USB when it is on the three colour screen, but it does not let me install ANY OF THE romS or the spl'S...
I have tried literally every single step possible. I have tried to do task 29, i have tried install the original rom, i have tried to put the rom in the sd card and try it that way.. I have also tried to do hard reset... vol up and down and it does not complete either..
I best rom it let me install was 99% of 2.10.50.19.2.. but after 99% it got stuck .. it seems like it gets stuck within 1 min or so.. anything you do!
Some times after several hundred attempts, it does let me change the spl... as it was displaying 3.... before then i changed to 1.4..... and then to 2.08...
All i want to do is to get rid of the NRG SCREEN, so i could send to the htc ,, for repair ( i know that it is not under warranty if i used andriod, but they will not know) .. or is there any way to completely format the phone,,, is there any solution to install andriod or microsoft? pls help
Before we start, you can ask him how his device has ended up like this, can't you?

Because you have stock SPL, you won't be able to install any custom ROM or any stock ROM not made for your region/SN.

AFAIK, task29 is, also to be considered, a custom rom so it needs HSPL to be flashed. Are you sure you have followed the steps correctly?

That is not a ROM, it's a radio. You need to flash HSPL to be able to change the splash screen (NRG Screen). HSPL should go like this: SPL 2.08.HSPL .

Microsoft is a corporation, Windows Phone is the OS .
One more thing, to be able to flash a LEOIMG from sd, the .nbh must be a rom that is compatible with your device (It will work if you get it from htc.com using the device's serial number)
I hope this helps. And I'm sorry if I am incorrect at something.
Good luck.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To summarize it, you need to do either one of the following:
1- Install HSPL, and do what you want.
2- Go to HTC.com, download a rom using your Serial Number, rename file to .zip, extract the .nbh file, rename to LEOIMG.NBH [Capital letters], put onto sd card and insert into phone, boot up device while holding volume down ONLY, and make sure splash is removed and you're back to the "htc" stock, then send to repair [why?].
posting teh same post in multiple sub forums is considered rude
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440265
Yeah, HSPL is needed for flashing pretty much everything. One thing you could do would be to flash a stock ROM from your SD card (just google it I CBA to provide links and stuff) which would reset everything to factory WinMo (including SPL to SPL3.03 [assuming you flash the latest ROM 3.14]) and from here it would basically be a fresh start. Probably the safest route without HSPL
Hi.
Thank you for your replies...
Let me tell u guys if I forgot to say earlier. The mobile phone is not letting flash any of the Hspl... be q series, 2 series or 3.series... all the times it says error 0000006 and 000000010 etc... a couple out of hundreds it did let flash but then it doesn't let me flash the factory rom fom HTC.
I have succesfuly flashed the 3.03 hspl... bit still no success in flashing any roms ... it gets stuck sometimes at 99% and sometimes at 0% and sometimes it comes up with a scrambled screen and stuck
OK,
My final.outcome.
This phone let's me flash the hspl but it doesn't let me flush any roms including the original HTC factory rom.
I can also perform the task 29. Etc but still the NRG screen is still there.
I would like to know that if I flash the original Split and send it HTC, will be repairable for free? Sure? Even with the NRG.
now i think the only option available to you is jtagging the device which may permanently void the warranty !!
it had happened with me once, but somehow it got solved !
i used to randomly install clk, magldr, radios, hspl etc multiple times !
it used to get stuck while installing and then i used to remove the battery and try again !!
somehow it started ! !!
STRANGE DEVICE !!
Yeap its a real problem!!
Now , It will not let me change the hspl to spl whatsoever I do.
I would like your suggestions
I bought this brick for £50 and I can return it to get my money back. Has any used jtagging and does it 100% work?. The thing is if I do used jtagging, and if it doesn't work ,then I can,t return it!. How much does it cost and is it worth it?
jtagging will solve your problem !!
they remove the motherboard of the device and flash the os into the motherboard directly through a device named riff box !!
refer this video for more info !!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zElsUERTzOU
but pls do not try this at home ! !!
just contact a local repair shop to jtag your device !!
also u can contact these guys from the video !!
good luck ! !!

Check that the micro USB connection isn't "wobbly".
I had a TMOUS HD2 and never had any issues. Then, I sold it and got a Telstra HD2 and had big issues getting ROMs installed until I realized that the connection at the phone was a little weak. I can't send any updates to WP7 via cab sender unless the phone is in a certain position to keep the connection from breaking.

Don't worry ... you can give the life to your phone back... it shows fail bcus u have 2.08.0000.. so it means u Sud have 2.08 v hspl.. so try flashing hspl by getting into bootloader(3 colour) by pressing volume down + power Then flash hspl.. but remember select 2.08v.. then again after flashing hold volume down + power.. bootlooder.. then flash magdlr 1.13 ... now the phone will boot into a black screen with written mangdlr.. wen the black screen magdlr screen comes then press power off for 5mintzz.. follow the guide to flash.. there is a stick thread in NAND DEVELOP... U can get the windows version back to your phone to get the warranty...
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
Ok ,, some good new at last ..
I have used the HSPL4 to change my 3.03hspl to 3.030000 spl...
Success, as when i go to the tri colour screen it says spl and no hint of hspl...
Bad news, is that i still cant get the rom flashing,, as it gets stuff at some point and mostly at 99%.. Have tried both ways through SD (leoimg) and through USB.
Now final question is ... When i on the phone a big logo of NRG (ENERGIZE) writtten comes up and it gets stuck there.. the phone has SPL .. so it still under warranty to return it?.. I still have all the void sticker intact.

did you try to flash just a splashscreen as i suggested in your other thread? (they can be flashed alone, no need for a whole rom, , just like radios)
if you can get a stock splashscreen on there you are sorted.
Maybe try to download the original Software from HTC.
With you serial number you can get the latest windows for this phone.
Flash the Software you get from HTC.
If this is working ok you can try to install any Android ROM.
Read at first this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905841
Try to understand and follow the steps..
But if you have even no luck with original Windows soft. You will also (maybe) have a lot of probs. with Android..
Thank you guys for all your help..
I have flashed andriod on several phones some time ago and I actually forgot the right steps to follow.
But this phone is unique is not letting me finish.
After following all the right steps, i wasnt able to install a rom succesfully even after installing the HSPL... and I am also not able to install the factory rom from htc on either the hspl or spl settings.
But i now got rid of the NRG screen and I have also installed the spl 3.03.. When you on the phone, it displays software upgrade failed..
So I have now sent the mobile to HTC as it is under warranty. I will then re-flash andriod following the right steps and see what happens!
Thanks again!
My mobile came back from HTC with a week.. Looks like a brand new one!
In the letter it says the replaced IMEI, PCBA, FL BD, W/O_ REGIONAL_ID, LEO
WOW
GREAT PHONE... ITS MUCH FASTER THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE FOR SOME REASONS
