help! Can't pass the unlock screen after boot! - Acer Iconia A500

I was testing some wallpaper resolutions that best fit my home-screens, from an wallpaper website(http://wall.alphacoders.com/) that provides multiple resolution of the same wallpaper. As I was setting a wallpaper directly from the webpage(man... setting a wallpaper takes a lot of time in honeycomb) my A500 restarted suddenly. After the boot, the unlock screen(which is totally black), just freezes. I just can't move the lock sign out of the circle.
I was thinking about factory resetting it, but unable to, since it is in the setting menu which a can't access. Is there any other way to factory reset it? Please some one help me out of this night mare...

There's a reset hole on the Iconia on the bottom I believe

[Q] Newbie Desire Z Questions

Hello,
as a Desire Z newbie please allow some questions:
everytime I release the keyboard on my Desire Z the display gets unlocked.
For my needs I wish that screen is NOT unlocking when keyboard gets moved.
Are there any chances to do so ?
Thanks in advance.
Everything I've seen suggests that this is not fixable.

hm, that´s sad. anyway, thank you for answer.
there´s something more that I want to change on my DZ:
is it possible to change background to pure black ? maybe not to use any background picture or wallpaper to safe RAM and get a screen with deep black background ?
thanks for help
&
greets.
Hi,
If you upload or download to the phone a black "picture" you can have that. There is no option to not to have backgroung in a way you wanted to. (I wanted to as well but no option for that so stuck with a black picture)

Yes, it's posisble. If you want it rooted, use this. If you want it completely back to stock, I believe you'll need to downgrade, then flash this RUU. Downgrade instructions are here.

You get the problem when you use the power button to select things in Clockworkmod. Solution is to obviously use the trackball.

If you are talking about the MAGLDR then he has tried it, and you cannot install the default bootloader

If you can see the bootloader then you should install the original WM ROM either via Active sync/USB or over the sd card, follow link post #1 and go to point 3.

If you still have white lines..........then it seams to be a HW problem......

A buzzing sound followed by that? Must have been a hardware failure, there really isn't any other explanation. Does the same behaviour (striped screen) happen when in the bootloader? Have you considered that your phone may not be turning on simply because you've run it out of battery?

If it doesn't turn on nor bootloader I fear your phone has a major HW problem.
From your description it leads only to that conclusion.
I don't know where you live, as I'm currently in China and enough shops which can check the phone......I got also the touchscreen of my HD2 replaced.
Sorry no better idea how to get your HD2 back to life.
Cheers.....LinChina
What is HW problem ?
From reading the thread posts, it seems you are having a MOBO (motherboard/mainboard) failure. And HW=Hardware as in physical pieces of the device. You might wanna try buying a mobo from somewhere ( i get my stuff from ebay) and try replacing the mobo. A main board averages around 50 bucks. Or you could buy my HD2 from me lol

Okay, Do i need to do this through the pink or blue screen? I cant seem to get either to work. I have recovered from blue before, that was easy enough. The device only seems to vibrate, softkeys light and the notification led blinks red. In device manager it only shows up as usb device
