[Q] CSC problem? - Galaxy S I9000 General

I have flashed this fw: XWJVH/XXJVO/NEEJV3/Sbl (CSC: NEE): Download (154 MB) (Build date: Wed May 4 18:03:59 KST 2011)
Then I thought csc woulkd be NEE. But Kies keeps telling me it is XEU...
When I do a *#1234# it says CSC: i9000NEEJV3.
If I try to change CSC it just says: Must be THREE chars... (only NEE available).
What is wrong? How can I change to NEE if I want?
Thanks

You're confusing csc with product code. They are not necessarily the same.
This doesn't affect your phone anyway, except for the fact that the firmware on it is not official now, and you don't have warranty with samsung. But you knew that I suppose.

Thanks. But I thought I flashed a stock fw???
I sold my phone and needed to flash to a stock fw first. Will the buyer be able to upgrade through Kies when a new fw arrives?

Not as you have it. If the phone is XEU, you have to flash XXJVO, so that the csc and the product code matches.
The product code can change by tampering in the /efs folder, there are threads about it in here, but I see no reason to do that. If you want to sell your phone as you bought it, flash JVO, the UK firmware that corresponds to XEU PCode.
Then Kies will give your buyer an upgrade when it comes out.

Confused now. Isn't it jvo now?

I need help with this too...
I tried flashing every single CSC even JVO on darky's 10.1 but can't seem to be able to change it via *#272*IEMI#
Each time I enter it, it just goes blank...any pointers?
So in other words:
-I can flash different CSC's via ODIN
-I can't select the CSC I want via the phone.apk
-This only happens on certain ROM's and more so, I can do this on 9.5 with no problem
-I have tried it on 3 separate SGS's so it isn't only mine.

This is a rom issue, ask Darky about it. Why would you want to change csc on a darky rom anyway?

So it is the product code (XEU) that stops the buyer from updating through Kies?
Any way to change this?

The easiest way is to flash the correct firmware for the phone's product code, as I said. In your case XXJVO.
You can find it here: (thanks Ramad)

Yeah, but the KDD they had didn't have the XEU CSC, which is the one I want
Yes it did, I flashed it.
I flashed it too, but I didn't see XEU listed. (maybe I'm going blind)
If your phone was XEU just check and you'll see it's still XEU.
It's on O2U, that's why I wanted XEU...
Lots of files in the new f/ware... might have to flash to see if we can still get root the chainfire way

How do you check if its still XEU? *#*#197328640#*#* tells me that the CSC Code is blank, there is nothing there.

A bricked phone means even if you press POWER+HOME button or POWER+HOME+VOLUME DOWN and nothing happened even if your phone is fully charged, then that is bricked. If it's bricked, you cannot do anything to your phone now. Say bye bye to it.
BUT
If you press POWER+HOME or POWER+HOME+VOLUME DOWN buttons and your phone went to recovery or download mode, then it is not bricked and you can just reflash any firmware you want to restore. Upgrade, downgrade, it's all up to you.

No need to flash back to froyo. In theory, you can move to a Custom ROM based on the dev's requirement. (XXKPH for Gingerreal as an example)

Hello,
I'm from Malaysia. I've successfully downgraded my phone from gingerbread KPH to froyo DXKC1. When I connect my phone to KIES, it says that this firmware cannot be upgraded. May I know what am I missing here? I was hoping to check for official firmware upgrade thru KIES.

SEA ginger isn't listed on KIES, yet. but you can call your local SSC and ask them about ginger upgrade. most of them already have new SEA ginger (well atleast in indonesia).
try re-flasing (please make sure that you use full package / complete file.
i've tried once, from KPH (blackhawk rom), to DXKC1, succeed, kies can detect my phone normally and chek for update.
i got a case of bad luck though. earlier today. bricked my ace from going from fla.shX2.2 to DXKC1 (the same file i use previously)

You must install csc for your country. *#272*imei#
Then select your csc and click install. Of course this only works is you flashed a multi csc with your country in it.

[Q] About Stock Firmware...

Hi everybody!
As you can see, I'm new to this forum. I apologize in advance if my english is bad, I'll try to explain my doubt.
My question is the following:
I have this tab from a week or so, already rooted, with CWM and Mobile Odin. The stock firmware is TGY, so it's of Hong Kong.
Is it possible to flash with Mobile Odin a european firmware on the device or this will cause problems to the tab?
I've searched for this in the forum already, maybe I have not used the right key words, but I haven't found the answer to this.
Thanks in advance!

Ok, so from what I've read, if I want to completely change the csc I have to flash the firmware with the csc I want and then enter recovery after a factory reset. It should automatically starts an update and it will ask me to confirm to change the csc into the one of the flashed firmware.
If I don't mind of Kies (which is my case ), I just flash the european firmware over the one I have now. I've read that you wanted to change your csc in ATO and at the beginning you simply flashed the austrian firmware over the TGY one and apart for the Kies autentication problem, you didn't have any other troubles.
Correct me if I am wrong, anyway I've thanked you for your reply. I ask you this because I know the basics for flashing and so, but I still consider me a newbie and I don't want to brick my beloved device with wrong country firmwares.

how to change csc

hi all ive flashed my three branded s4 with the btu latest firmware via odin but now cannot update via kies?
can anyone help me in changing the csc please.
thanks
its ok I just rebooted its all sorted now
Take a look at "Samsung Galaxy S / S2 / S3 CSC"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manniakk.cscselector
I personally haven't tested on my I9500.
Suggest to forget KIES, and just use Odin to flash any firmware package suitable for your device. No real need for OTA updates.

You can use this app to change your CSC. However, two things.
A. You need to be rooted beyond XXELLA
B. Your selected rom needs to support multi csc
( tried that before but doesn't work as its unrooted and on stock software

It should work, but you need to root if you're on XXELLA or above
Sorry not that much of a techie :silly: what is XXELLA? So it doesn't need to be rooted? Because when i press change CSC it comes up with com.android.preconfig not found on your device and takes me to the dialer with *#272*1759# already punched in?? After ringing that I get Connection problem or invalid MMI code.

Xxella would be a 4.1.2 firmware.
It would look like your stock setup doesn't have a multi CSC setup so I'm not sure if you're able to change to BTU

if I am not wrong you need:
(1) be rooted to change the CSC
(2) after that you can use the tool mentioned before and/or flash a BTU rom
or maybe easier:
just flash the newest 4.3 rom version (you can do this without root as well I think)
Flash the latest 4.3 rom for the UK, using odin and following the guide in sticky thread.
Factory reset from recovery, reboot and csc should match the firmware.

I'm pretty sure this method will default the CSC to "KOR"
You want to flash the ELL4 U.K. firmware from the stock firmware thread. Download the S2/S3 CSC changer app from the play store and set the CSC to BTU.
This will factory reset the device, so make sure you have your important files backed up.
Then proceed to flash MK6 4.3. Now everything will match.

If you flash a untouched 4.3 rom thru odin it does not void the warranty. It will read official in Odin. At least on my phone it did. Like they said earlier they should have a uk version floating around somewhere. Otherwise just leave it alone and wait for the update. I hope that helps
