Hi all, I am looking for some advice and help, I have just got myself a Advent Vega Running software MoDaCo custom rom r8, the question I have is, the unit has got a lot of info from the last owner on it, is there a way to reset it and get rid of his stuff, if It can be done can you please tell me how to do this task.

Welcome to xda developers!
Just browse to settings/software tool/Erase all content and settings.
That should remove all the previous user settings. If thats not enough, reflash the stock advent v1.10 firmware, then install what you want from there.

I've also been told that i'll need to run the Artermus USPL program after connecting the phone. But any help and advice would be a great help. Is there anyway to backup the phone in the state it is at present if or if it doesnt go wrong?

That's an unusual first post.
I don't think it's possible with the original ROM, I could be wrong though.
From memory, it requires something like Olipro's boot loader ????
I'm sure either someone more knowledgable can tell you, or someone more generous can do a search for you, or you could search for yourself. I'm sure a bit of digging will get you your answer.

Using the program pablo11 gave you, you should be able to unlock it. This will make it unhidden.... No EXT rom is visible without being unlocked first...
