I'm coming from Captivate and just got my hands on Atrix and first thing which I noticed how washed out colors looks like on Atrix. It appears like somebody added 3 screen protectors on top of Amoled screen the way Atrix screen looks compared to Captivate.
Another thing I'm trying to figure out is according to some links there is different speeds for 4G on Infuse and 4G on Atrix. According to URL below it's looks like Infuse 2x faster on 4G then Atrix.
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Samsung-Infuse-4G,Motorola-ATRIX-4G/phones/5119,4982
Secondly it appears both front and back cameras are better on Infuse which matters for me.
So wondering if somebody made a switch from Atrix to Infuse and found those things are true and were worth switching over?
Here we go again ...

If someone switched from the Atrix to Infuse, I doubt they would still be looking at this forum. You'd probably have better luck asking in the Infuse forum.

I own all three Atrix infuse and inspire. I'd just have to clear this one up. The Atrix and inspire both speedtest at the same speed. The is is fairly fast on the infuse and screen is nice on it too. But when trying to load heavier apps on the infuse its a hair slower than the Atrix.(stock)
I must say the infuse has a quieter speaker phone.... no all audio levels are lower than my Atrix but the camera is better on the infuse. Video is about the same.
Conclusions ..... I'd say infuse if your more into media(video type for the screen) and audio wasn't as good on loud speaker but headphones sounds fantastic when in call or music.
1:camera
2:screen
3:form factor vs Atrix
But it does lose to Atrix on these things...
1:loud speaker
2:resolution
3:battery life (as I can make longer than 6 hours on Bluetooth call while webbrowsing and text mms also while still having juice left.) (I talk to my twin about 4-7 hours a night recently at work without charging till I go to bed all on Bluetooth.)
4:CPU power

Try and ignore the trolls on the forums that can't handle questions...
One thing to consider with the Atrix is that it's a Tegra 2 device. If you care about some of the higher end games at all, you'll want the Tegra 2 over the single core 1Ghz on the Infuse as games are made specifically for Tegra and even with Chainfire won't run as well as say the dual core on the Galaxy S II.
The dual core itself, while not properly optimized, is in raw specs better than having the single core. Perhaps it won't be noticeable if you don't run many things at once though, so consider that if you like the shape or colors or something else on the Infuse a lot more.
I've dabbled in some photography stuff myself so I know what you mean when you say you want a better camera. If it appears that the Infuse has a better camera not just in pixel count but also in actual quality in demo shots, and that really is a strong factor for you, then you should definitely consider that. Neither the Infuse nor Atrix will really get to use the front camera right (in Google Talk, Skype, etc) until the Gingerbread update. We know that the Atrix should be getting its GB update quite soon, so you should consider that.
I'm not familiar with much about the Infuse as I've only played with it once at a store and decided it was a bit too big for me to want to use. You really should consider that factor as well, as though it may seem ok in the store, after using it for a week you may realise that it's a hassle. Also, the Infuse battery is smaller than the Atrix's.
Basically, what I'm saying is look at all the factors and decide what you think would be best for you. Colors will not matter much if the phone is slow running what you want to run on it, but speed won't matter as much if you want photos that look better, eh?
If you can handle waiting, I would wait for the Galaxy S II variant on AT&T to be released so you can compare that with the Atrix. It's a very strong competitor that would be definitely superior to the Infuse.
Nobody mentioned 4G data speed specs mentioned in first link. According to those specs Infuse is 2x faster then Atrix. What do you make out of that?

Haven't switched, but I've had Atrix just about since it came out. Wife got the Infuse. She loves it, except can't find a case she likes because its so freaking big.
If you want a tablet and not as much kick ass capability as the Atrix. Then Infuse is for you.

I have the Atrix with Gingerblur and both my sisters have the Infuse @ stock.
Atrix is not all that much worse than the Infuse, they are about on par when talking about colors. I give the Infuse a 10/10 and I give the Atrix about a 9/10 from all the smart phones I've used so far in terms of clarity. Atrix has about the same Clarity as my Dad's iPhone 4. Infuse just noticeably has bigger icons because of the superior resolution of the Atrix. Most things load faster on the Atrix. Infuse has the superior camera, but Atrix's camera is no slouch. You also can't go wrong with the Atrix's battery life span.
That being said, I had to go through two Atrix's before the third one was working properly in a span of 4 days. One of my Sister's phone's Camera died on her after the third day, but she got a replacement. Both of our phones have been working properly since the replacements.
Tegra is great and I've been playing Apps since day one. All games seem to run smoothly.

This guy again...get over it man, its a phone.
And to the OP, there are a hundred posts on Atrix vs. Blah blah phone, specs for blah vs. Atrix, I'm a troll this phone sucks vs. my blah blah phone, please search more thoroughly. No matter what the speed says on paper it won't go any faster than what Atts hspa+ will allow which is supposedly 6 mbps, Att hasn't launched LTE yet. The point of this phone is its tegra hardware and unique webtop ability. A screen is your preference, you don't like the colors, resolution, size, ect., get something else.

Have both. Not switching to or from, about the only thing i switch to and from would be my SIM, between my HTC Desire HDs, neXus S, InFuSe, Atrix and soon to be SGS II. Unfortunately the InFuse has less going on then the Atrix, which would make sense because its a couple months newer. I just love playin AB with that big-n-sexxxy 4.5" Super AMOLED Plus display. I even donated my 2nd InFuSe to an up and coming DEV about a month ago and nothin is happenin over in that neck of the woods...
I had an infuse for about two weeks, ran infused on it. Was a great phone. I returned the infuse for the atrix due to a few factors. Samsung will most likely not support the phone long due to sgs2. May or may not be true. I also have fell in love with the atrix, due to fingerprint reader, screen is nice once you havnt looked at the extream saturation on the samoled+. The way I see it the atrix is a little bit more future proof. If you have any questions pm me. I am on my phone right now otherwise I would elaborate some more.

i have both .. my main draw tho is to the infuse because of display quality and the battery life i get from it ... i can get about 12 more hours out of it then my atrix ...
i do like the atrix ... esp the fingerprint scanner ... so convenient ... but i have always preferred a phone with a larger screen size since i use mine more for a web device then just a phone (yeah i know the atrix has a dock but that isn't something you just toss in your pocket.)

So I just exchanged my Inspire 4G for the Atrix. The guy at RadioShack told me if I didn't like the Atrix, I could switch back to the Inspire 4G with no problem.
Anyway.. on the ride home, there are a few things I already don't like..
One is the screen. The colors are really off and it looks weird. I know that it comes with 'qHD' display and super high resolution, but the Inspire 4G screen looked so much better than the Atrix. The screen kind of looks dioxalate, not really but that's the closest I could come to describing it. Like if you look really close, you can see like dots on the screens and stuff. Also, the Inspire 4G was a bigger screen, and lower resolution, yet it didn't have any of this problems.
Another thing I don't like is the keyboard (MotorBlur). It's really hard to type really fast on it. On the Inspire 4G, I could type fast on it with no problem. Maybe because it was a bigger screen, I don't know.
The last thing is MotorBlur. I already hate it. It's so bland looking.
I tested out the Atrix in the store and coming from a 3GS I LOVED the keyboard.
I have both the Inspire and Atrix.
I feel like the keyboard is faster on the atrix
The inspires screen colors were warmer but the atrix has better clarity.
The atrix has better performance for sure
the speaker and call quality on the atrix is better
the camera on the inspire had better clarity, but the atrix had more detail in each shot, and took faster pictures.
both phones have its pros and cons...you should have tried the phone before you switched to it.
try and turn you display brightness up it makes a big difference for me anyway

You can thank Motorola's decision to go for a cheap PenTile LCD screen for the Atrix' qHD display.
It has an effective resolution less than WVGA; and unlike with SAMOLED screens, there's no big contrast to make up for it. So when you zoom out in the browser, the text becomes heavily pixelated and unreadable.

The resolution is higher than WVGA and while playing around with in the store there was no pixelation while readin text, crystal clear.
I exchanged my Inspire for the Atrix and I very much prefer the Atrix. The Inspire is a great phone for the money, but speakers and battery killed it for me. I've had zero issues with the Atrix so far. I won't complain about Motoblur because I knew it had it when I bought it. Seems that many are complaining about things that they could see and use while in the store before purchase.
Atrix vs Inspire
I went from Atrix to Inspire & I very happy with inspire. Following are my observations..
1) Battery life is almost the same for me: I am using Inpire for the past 13+ hrs & have 20% battery left almost same as Atrix for my usage. Pleasantly surprised by the 1230mAH battery on Inspire! HTC certianly optimized to last the phone long even with that bigger screen.
2) Screen on Atrix is dull. Fonts wer small which really annoyed me. Inspire fonts are much better & I am loving the 4.3 inch real estate!
3) UI: This my first Sense UI & I am loving it. It is smooth & integration with OS was brilliant! Blur was laggy on Atrix.
4) I haven't checked the camera on Inspire yet. Atrix camera was below average for me.
5) Handset speaker was better(volume as well as clarity) on Inspire. However speaker was better on Atrix.
6) Build quality & materials are superb on Inspire! I like the metallic finish with chrome accents on earpiece speaker grill, speakergrill, power button & volume rocker. Atrix looks/feels cheap & plasticky.
7) Volume rocker is raised on Atrix which easy to use. Inspire rocker is flat & is hard to feel the buttons. It will take some time to get used to it I guess.
8) Music quality is better & louder on Inspire through headset. However Atrix is better through speaker.
9) I like the USB port on the bottom on Inspire vs side on Atrix. It is uncomfortable on Atrix particualy when you are using the phone while charging.
10) I like the speaker position on Inspire. My hands doesn't block the speaker grill when I hold the phone. Where as on Atrix, it was always blocking, I had to make a concious effort not to block it.
So, the bottom like is dual core Tegra 2 CPU didn't do much for me. Don't get me wrong, Atrix is fast.. but so is Inspire! I didn't notice any difference in terms of speed. I guess that additional core will be used for the multimedia dock & laptop dock?
Coming from the Nexus One the Atrix 4G is a fair upgrade.
I have 2 of them at some point, both rebooted randomnly, and then seemed perfectly ok. I'm sure other will experience at least one random reboot.
I'de return them but I suspect I'de just get the same issue again, and it doesn't happen often enough to be too much of an inconvenience.
Hopefully a software update or hardware revision solves the issue in the future.

I dont get it, why no one give the phone a chance. Playing with it while on the way home is not gonna cut it. I came from Iphone, Nexus one and samsung captivate and Atrix is great.
i got a chance to play with the atrix today. screen was good. about as good as my hd2 but not as colurful as the mytouch 4g in comparison. next time i get to play with the atrix ill take a closer look at the pixilation that some have mentioned but with my first short look, i was impressed with the atrix.
I didn't like the default keyboard either. I just reinstalled smart keyboard pro from the Marketplace and im good to go now.
I always shrink the size of the keys to allow for faster typing.

Before you get so upset, I actually came to this forum looking for exactly this thread.
I am currently in the market for what is either going to be an Inspire or an Atrix. I have been reading the somewhat loaded pro-Inspire comments i expect to see on the Inspire forum. Now i come here trying to get the opposite point of view for the Atrix. This is going to be a large part of how i decide which phone to buy in the end.
I encourage you to join in the discussion and defend your phone of choice; i appreciate it!
I got my wife a inspire over the weekend and returned my atrix for one after playing with it a few hrs. I can destroy the atrix in everyday use and any benchmark. I really wanted to like the atrix but the locked bootloader, poor dock performance & no hspa+ killed it for me.
I posted this in another thread, but since it was asked....
I bought the Inspire the day it came out. I used it for almost 2 weeks, then bought the Atrix and gave my Inspire to my fiance. After 6 hours, I HATED the Atrix. Nothing but trouble with MotoBlur, the widgets didn't update worth a damn and it was "clumsy". The extra resolution of the screen yeilded no extra "real estate" and seemed absolutely tiny, even compared to my Craptivate.
I was going to take the Atrix back but my fiance asked to try it first. She had it about 10 hours and demanded I give her the Inspire back! She complained about MotoBlur and that the menus were very laggy. Hitting "menu" or "back" buttons didn't do anything sometimes until the 3rd or 4th time.
I returned the Atrix and exchanged it for another Inspire which I gave directly to my fiance. We're both happy campers now. Motorola has a LOT to learn about optimizing their UI. The HTC product is much more finished and the build quality seems to be better. I shouldn't be surprised, 4 of my last 5 devices were HTC. They've never disappointed.
Good to see you here SHEP! I ran some of your ROMS on my FUZE back in the day.
What I find funny is while almost nobody will argue with the assumption that HTC Sense > Blur. Almost everybody uses it as a major complaint when comparing the Atrix.
Aside from that fact I like the Atrix over the Inspire, its easier to use in one hand for me, has the FFC, its only going to get better.
Sure the Inspire is a great device, but IMO the Inspire falls short. The Thunderbolt for Verizon is a better comparison.
My sister will give me her upgrade if I give her my Captivate. I use Cog 4 currently and I am happy with the device except gps.

try the official froyo update, from what i have read the gps works.
if it doesn't and it's important to you then get the atrix.
otherwise keep your cappy and wait for the galaxy S 2 or something else
I'm in the same boat, and from what I've been reading in these forums, people don't seem all that incredibly happy with the Atrix. I'm planning on waiting for the Galaxy S 2 myself. I don't know if I can deal with a non-SAMOLED screen now that I've had one!
I have the Atrix and the Captivate. I am happier with my Captivate than with my Atrix. Although I do like the power the Atrix has but I prefer the media support for the Captivate and I prefer Amoleds to the Atrix's display. Download speeds are disappointing too, considering it's supposed to be 4g. The Captivate gets faster speedtest results. Atrix's Hd video playback for mkv files is really choppy and embarrasing for a dual core phone. My recommendation would be to hold out for the S2. Quadrant scores aren't that impressive considering a single core Nexus S is on par with the Atrix. Quadrant Score for Atrix is in the 2500s where as the Nexus S was in the low 2000s untouched. I'm trying to give the Atrix a fair trial, but for now it seems as though it will be returned. I'll be waiting for the S2 or the Infuse.

Im returning my atrix. Im running serendipity 5.11 on my cap and I noticed that motoblur is far slower than my cap, I use launcher pro also. I don't care about the screen (its a phone and its plenty crisp an image, I have a laptop and a desktop for quality.)
I didn't test the gps. I thought the camera over all wasn't as good as the cap, but thays probably a software issue not hardware. Though its disappointing that companies (samsung included) release these phone and advertise and price them as the next best thing while including hardware, I.e. camera sensor, That has been around for a while already and is subpar to some phone that are a year old already.
It obvioulsy performs tasks quicker than the captivate because of the dual core, but I don't see the benefits yet, I can wait.
I will wait until there are hacks if I really want it but for now the price att wants does not support the benefits. The real reason to get one is the dock and they've made that so expensive and trying to call it tethering using the dock when its all phone is dumb. I was told buy my friends at att tell me I can't keep my unlimited and add tethering either.(edit, clarify, I can't add tethering if I want to keep my unlimited plan, its one or the other)
Over all, im not impressed. But im sure it will get better with updates. Im gonna stick it out for a while with the cap and see what happens. I may give the new htc one a go first, its not faster than the cap, but its got a bigger screen and camera sensor so....

See the GPS thread. THE ATRIX GPS WORKS!
Cappy doesn't. Atrix does.
Yeah, it really is that simple. Cappy is a little slimmer and lighter and has a nice bright screen--but who cares if the GPS will never work? And after two or three bogus fixes were issued and announced...who wants to wait and see?
And for the first time in all these years...a phone I've bought HAS A MESSAGE LIGHT! I can't tell you how nice a litle perq that is. Cappy doesn't have it.
Now, if they'd only put in a hole for a tether cord, because I'm often in places where a phone really doesn't want to get dropped.
Cappy gone. Hello Moto.
I have had 3 Captivates since they were released, and now I have an Atrix and Nexus One. Guess what, the Atrix is the best of all those. The Captivate is simply a garbage device, no way around it. No LED flash, no front facing camera, no LED notification, garbage GPS, slower, comes with trash TouchWiz, etc.

While I loved my Captivate, I must agree with you. Even with the best custom ROM for GPS (Paragon 6), GPS is hit or miss. Side by side, my wife's iPhone 4 and my Samsung Focus get a GPS lock much faster than the Captivate in difficult situations (indoors, cloudy day etc). I hope that the Atrix is better at this.
Another issue with the Captivate was battery life, which I hope the Atrix will be better at. Cheers.

Yep. Regardless of ROM, my GPS on every Captivate I have owned has been entirely broken. 10+ minutes in an open parking lot, no signal lock. Atrix locks in my car in 5 seconds.
I made the same change from the Captivate to Atrix. Overall I've had a good experience with the Atrix. My biggest complaint at this point is Moto Blur. It's just crap. IF you decide to get the Atrix just be prepared for the different screen. The Amoled screen is better than the screen on the Atrix. I do miss that a little bit. But then I dock it on the Lapdock and forget all about it
I got an atrix on day one on day two i boxed it back up am taking it back monday. After samoled i cold not take that screen. It was simply horrible to me. I am going to wait to see what samsung, htc, and apple bring out this summer.

Hmm; have you compared the two side by side? The Atrix is a lot clearer and has a higher resolution.

I have switched as well and I love the phone. Very fast, great life, and better durability.
I'm going to be ordering a case in a few hours and getting the laptop dock in a few days.

Atrix is wonderful
Atrix is a wonderful experience, especially compared to the Captivate which was horrible, especially after loading in all of my apps the Captivate just froze with everything....the Atrix flies! Get Launcher Pro and forget Motoblur, it sucks.
I thought about it. I work for the Shack an get a pretty good discount on the atrix but I am simply in love with my captivate. Love the amoled. Love the huge selection of custom roms. The phone is extremely snappy running paragon. I am just 100% satisfied with the captivate.

What about someone coming from a uk dhd, nexus s.... then a telus dhd.... my current desire hd, having hspa.... is great IMO, battery life could be better, but I have an extra battery...
Oh well, it will be here in 10 days, I guess that will decide all... but it is going to have to be great.... to make me ditch my dhd running cm7!
I'm torn in this decision too. I currently have a Nexus One and a Captivate. I was really thinking of selling the Captivate and getting either the Inspire or the Atrix. I messed around with both for about an hour and can honestly say I was a little let down by the Atrix. I really want to like this phone but I personally think the screen compared to the Captivate is just plain dull. Yeah, it has a higher res screen and I can appreciate that. BUT, the colors on the SAMOLED have spoiled me. I don't know what to do. The performance with a live wallpaper on my friend's Atrix was, frankly, pretty dang lousy for a phone that everyone has been raving about in terms of its speed. With a regular wallpaper the phone is certainly faster but it still didn't just blow me away. Also, the plastic build materials left a sour taste. Again, I really want to like this phone. I guess I'll check it out again and maybe have a change of heart. Anyone else think the way I do as far as the screen?
I'm due for an upgrade at the end of July. I cannot decide whether to go for the Atrix or the Infuse. They're just about dead even for me.
Atrix Pros:
-Dual Core CPU
-GeForce GPU
-Fingerprint Scanner
-Motoblur > Touchwiz 3 (IMO) (of course I'd do LauncherPro/ADW, but still)
-qHD Resolution
Infuse Pros:
-GORGEOUS Super AMOLED Plus screen (I am pretty much in love with AMOLED)
-0.5 extra inches of screen real estate
-HSUPA isn't disabled
-Sideloading isn't disabled (but I'd probably root and lagfix anyway)
-I have huge hands
Basically, the Atrix has more horsepower, but the Infuse has more eye candy and network speed. I'm not sure which is the better trade-off. I'm a power user for sure, but I just can't get over AMOLED. Does anyone care to sway me one way or the other?
Of course, if the US gets the Galaxy S II by July then this is irrelevant.
Sorry if this has been posted a bagillion and five times.
US is getting galaxy sII in July so there's no point
Anyway to answer you before this gets locked, I say get the atrix. The resolution upgrade is awesome. Not only that but when we get custom roms, this beast will finally be freed.
But if you love the SAMOLED then just get the infuse. In everyday usage I doubt you'll notice the difference.

Well.... i went from an iPhone 4 to an Atrix... and i absolutely love it. I keep thinking about swinging by an AT&T store to check out the Infuse.... but i doubt it'd be tempting to me.
Reasons i like the Atrix:
1) the already mentioned dual-core... which i'm pretty sure will be a requirement in some Android versions... and a little bit of future-proofing never hurt anybody
2) 1GB RAM.... which i don't think many other phones have.... if any, really. (other than the SGS2)
3) fingerprint reader. Yes, it can be finicky at times, but at least your phone can't be cracked into by, say, figuring out a pattern that the oils of your skin have nicely smudged across your screen for you.
4) the also mentioned NVidia chipset. I don't do a lot of gaming on my phone... but hey.... just a little more future-proofing i guess.
Things i'm not sure of with the Infuse:
1) Super AMOLED. I know... they're quite nice screens.... but i also hear the colors are extremely vivid... which might not necessarily be the greatest thing.
2) screen size. Yes, it's only another half inch... and yes, we may have large hands... but pocketability is my concern. An extra half inch can do wonders to a pocket.
Two things i'd like to correct in your Pros/Cons... HSUPA has been enabled for the Atrix (and reviews of the Infuse i've seen don't really show much difference from what many still see with the Atrix. Sometimes nice speeds.... sometimes sh*t speeds), and supposedly sideloading could be allowed by AT&T in the near future.
The Galaxy S2 might be worthwhile... but i dunno. Would have been nice had they gone with the NVidia chipset... but maybe they figured it would generate too much heat for an extremely thin phone? Not saying the Atrix is a beast size-wise... but i'm pretty sure it's thicker than the SGS2.
Futureproofing is something I didn't really think of. The Dual-Core, though zippy now, has even more room to grow with Gingerbread updates. And considering Samsung's track record with updates, the Atrix will go a lot farther.
The Atrix probably will be my choice unless the screen difference is just that huge.
And I sure do hope the GS2 comes in July.
yea... a friend of mine has the original Motorola Droid on Verizon. He thought about getting the Thunderbolt, but figured it didn't make sense to upgrade to another single-core phone when dual-core phones on Verizon are just around the bend.
And like i said... not entirely sure about the screen, since i haven't actually taken the time to look at a Super AMOLED screen, let alone both side-by-side.... but i quite like the Atrix's screen, even though it is a pentile matrix screen.... mostly because the downside to pentile matrix is only really that noticable if you frequently use 100% brightness or are constantly an inch or a few from your phone's screen.
Your posting in the atrix forum...what answer do you expect

I have been using Atrix for a while now, have to say that even with a huge battery the back up is not great. Bootloader is locked which means no custom goodies. Finger print reader is buggy and slow and irritating. You can not turn off 4g, which takes a lot of battery. Can not turn off haptic feedback etc etc etc .
Sent from Atrix
Wow.... who'd have seen that coming. Another person complaining about the bootloader. Haven't really noticed any issues with the fingerprint reader either, other than when i try to swipe too fast and it doesn't quite get a good read... which is kinda expected. And i may be mistaken.... but can't you turn off 4g/HSPA+ by just choosing a different APN in the mobile network settings? Such as to AT&T US instead of the default AT&T US HSDPA?
eallan: how you figure? I didn't even really know wtf people were complaining about with pentile matrix displays til i actually turned the brightness up to 100% on my Atrix, and even then it's not really a "Hey, that shouldn't be like that" moment.
Extra real estate should be a con lol

Yeah another person. Maybe Motorola should take a hint. Its is big fat CON of the device.
All you have to look at to see the pentile is any color straight line. Especially green. The fact that its a rgbw layout instead of a rgbg layout makes text on white look much better though.

I took the time to mess with the Infuse today. Can't really vouch for the whole visibility in direct sunlight bit.... but i will say two things about it. It is nice... but i still don't like the way it looks. Pentile may not be the greatest display.... but neither is a fantastic Super AMOLED+ with extremely vivid colors. I was looking at both the Infuse and Atrix side by side... trying to get a comparison of the color quality.... and to be honest i prefer the Atrix's. Yeah, it may not be quite top-notch... but i'd rather have slightly less fantastic than over-the-top vivid. Tried to compare the icons... but couldn't. For one, Samsung uses their own custom ones.... and two, what you'd expect to be a decent red would be like a fire engine red. What you'd expect to be a nice mellow blue tone looks like cobalt blue. Think they need to stray away from Xbox-ification. Upping the shinyness doesn't always make something better.
Other than that, it actually seemed to be fairly laggy just pacing back and forth through the default home screens that were on the one at my local AT&T. And i don't mean the "laggy" that people say the Atrix is (which i fail to see).... i mean like you'd move your finger, and depending what's on the screen, it could take two seconds or so for it to actually flip screens.
Having used both I'd wait as you're waiting til July. There will be other choices like the Thrill as well as possibly a SGS2.

The icons don't have a background on the homescreen or custom launcher. I also couldn't disagree with your screen assessment any more.
The atrix colors are ok. The viewing angles are terrible however. Blacks are bright!

someone at work had the infuse today. too big and i seriously dont understand what the fuss is all about with regards to super amoled +. Its nice, but too cartoony. Cant go back to anything less than what the atrix has.
i have had the atrix for a couple of months. Bought SGS2 last week and IT IS GETTING RETURNED!
When compared to Atrix: Battery is awful, GPS is poor, sound is poor and it wont make it for more than 4 hours on a charge. I assume the Infuse is going to be similar.

Have Thrill and Atrix in hand
I already posted in the LG thread
What I love about the Atrix
NOTIFICATION LED [thank you motorola]
Weight and size is much better [Thrill with a case is huge]
Storage is insane..the 16gb on board plus my 8gb
almost 2000 mah battery built in
What I love about the Thrill
Huge very colorful screen
3D is legit and looks better than 3ds and Evo 3d
HDMI mirroring works in landscape out the box
Covered HDMI/usb ports
What I hate about the Atrix
NO mirrored HDMI landscape mode
Message limit 999/1000 in SMS/MMS mode
What I hate about the Thrill
Horrible battery life
Phone is thick before I even case it
NO NOTIFICATION LIGHT!!!!!!
So..I'm torn apart
The things I hate about the Atrix are all software and might just change through dev or official Ice Cream Sandwich
the things I hate about the Thrill are all hardware and won't ever change
I have roots in both companies..my first android was the cliq xt [loved it..loved it again for a little bit with cm7] my second darling was the defy [and I wish they made a defy 2 with atrix specs] but my last android phone was the G2X which I loved loved loved [blazing fast, totally classy]
the Thrill has roots in the G2X but the G2X was a sexy phone and the Thrill..not really..the Atrix shares a lot of software with the defy...but is pretty much a G2X in terms of hardware [dual core tegra 2, ddr 2 ram, etc]
This is the hardest decision ever..really. I can't make up my mind. Part of me wants to go with the thrill because it's a week or two old..and I can't help but think the Atrix is already almost seven months old...but
the atrix seems to be the undisputed champ in this battle...i guess I just want any more in sight from people here who have an atrix and have tried out thrill..optimus 3d..g2x..evo..evo 3d..etc
Atrix has superior name = keep.
No matter how you decide, next week another phone will be released and you will be going through this again.

You gave the answer yourself.
Personally I have always cared for the phone part i.e. call quality, signal reception, battery life, talk time both on 2G/3G before all the gimmicks like 3D, HDMI. Atrix and most of Motorola phone are miles ahead in these department.
But however u should rather use both of these phones and choose for yourself. There is no point convincing because you will miss the functionalities in the other.

Personally, the 3D effect on the Evo 3D and Thrill don't seem to have much of an effect. The same goes for active (battery powered glasses) 3D on TVs. However, I would go with the Atrix because overall, it seems like it delivers better on what it promises. The Thrill, on the other hand, lacks the small details like the large battery (not exactly a detail but anyway...), the LED, and more. Plus, I love the 16:9 aspect ratio of the Atrix. Better for movies and browsing lists (Gmail inbox, etc.), both of which I often do.
Honestly get any crappy phone you want. If you don't like your atrix get the thrill.

I've owned both and at this point I don't want either. My Atrix dropped data connection daily and this Thrill lags and the gps has never locked, not to mention the bootloop it went into and hard reset I had to do BEFORE I rooted it. No luck with either yet and I'm tired of exchanging phones

I had to choose on the 7th this week...of any phone AT&T had in their store to upgrade to for free..I look long and hard at the Thrill...and the staff there was pushing it hard..I had been reading everything I could from every review on both where ever I could find them for a solid week before making my choice.
It wouldn't have been a easy decision to make without researching it first...I went with the Atrix for a number of reasons..
First..3d is a fad...and a very bad implemented on at this..The 3d doesn't look real..and the picture actually sucks if you bother to pay attention to it when looking at it instead of the effects..
Second...the sound quality is poor...I'm a audiophile and love good music..The sound quality doesn't make it for me on it because of the clarity and volume...
Third...look at what software upgrades has already been issued for the Atrix..and then look at what LG has done for their phones...
The Atrix is a hardcore phone...the Thrill is a gimmicky phone..Yes..it may score better in a few synthetic benchmarks...but these mean nothing in reality...what matters is how the phone actually performs on a day to day basis..
You take your chances with any smart phone purchase today...since the technology is always improving..but this I know...they had miserable sales on the current 3d technology for the mainstream home usage...and now are pushing it off on us in another way.. The Atrix may have some faults like with it..but most are software issues that can be corrected...and most likely will...and that is something LG doesn't do well...
Buy what ever makes you happy...but..if it were me again ...for my money..I would still buy the Atrix or any Motorola over any LG...
Mac
Phone choices
I think a lot has already been said here on the subject. Ultimately nobody here can tell you what phone is best for YOU because you will always have doubts as you let someone else pick for you.
I looked at a lot of phones, and actually tried them all for a week at a time. The Samsung Galaxy S2 - didn't like it. Too thin, too big, and I didn't like the screen resolution - although the colors just popped out. The camera was really good on this phone. I returned mine.
The Sensation was a sexy phone, HTC makes such polished devices, but the software was laggy, and the screen washed out (The screen matters to me), and the sound quality wasn't very great. Internal storage was pathetic, and the phone was actually a little bit laggy.
I got my Atrix and what got me was the battery life, the screen, the sound quality, the internal storage, the performance.
Yeah, I saw the thrill - i was interested in it, but I wasn't going to order it (optimus 3d). I wouldn't be interested in 3d. It looks like something I would show my friends once say wow cool, and never use it again. Its a gimmick. The phone has impressive specs. The reviews weren't as favorable as I would have thought. Its a cheap dual core phone, and really doesn't look like much of a change from what you have/had in your G2x.
You said you had a Optimus 2x or G2x..and loved it. Why not stay with that? It is similar in performance to the Atrix, it is dual core, there are mods for it now, an like you said...you loved it. Then you can wait it out until something really grabs you. But...make up your own mind.
I love my Atrix, but the LG Thrill is looking pretty bad ass to me. It's definitely better...if you've got the money I'd go for it. Why not?

i'm pretty happy with my Atrix, i think i'm gonna hold off on upgrading until a decent quad core phone comes out on the market.
Not enough of an upgrade to think about it.

When the SGSII came out back in... May(ish), it seems liked I should have not gotten an Atrix and waited for the SGSII to come to AT&T. the SGSII had a bigger screen, faster CPU, no Blur, no locked bootloader, and already had a pre-beta of Cyanogen out within two weeks of the phone hitting the international market.
Fast Foward to today. The Atrix has an unlocked bootloader, a *solid* beta of CM7, MIUI in the works, a bigger battery, and the performance is close to that of the SGS (in CM7 while OC'd) - in some tests it is noticeabley faster.
The SGSII also seems to have some hardware issues that have been reported. Yellowing of the screen on the left side is the most reported issue.
Now look to the future because the SGSII isn't going to come out for another two weeks. Should we have all waited to get an SGSII? No way, not IMHO. I was sitting on an iPhone 3GS for months and months after I was eligible for an upgrade, I was just waiting until something big came out or the phone died. I'll be honest, at first I did regret my Atrix purchase at times. Software versus 4.1.26 had a TON of bugs in it, 4.1.57 did too. 4.1.83 was solid, and when we got GB the phone was pretty solid. Now with CM7 I have no complaints over the phone at all, and I'm glad I didn't suffer with my iPhone 3GS for the last 7 months (I bougt the Atrix on release day) waiting for the SGSII after returning the Atrix to wait for the SGSII.
If I had waited this long for the SGSII with my iPhone 3GS, I would likely pass up the SGSII and wait for more info on the Nexus Prime.
DK
One thing I don't miss going from my captivate to atrix is in the power usage menu "display" being like 95%. I don't know why they say SAMOLED use less power. I know the screen on the sgs and sgs2 is different but they're close enough IMO. Also after all the BS with GPS and poor update from Samsung I don't know if I could buy another. As far as specs....IMO I don't think it's worth the upgrade the specs are really similar. The only reason I might be tempted is for the dev support.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
as someone who has had both i can assure you the atrix is a much more all-around solid piece of hardware.
like reported above the screen on the SGSii may be bigger but it has its issues (yellow left on most handsets and battery consumption).
the battery is simply way worse then atrix.
and what got to me the most about going back to the atrix was the sound quality, it was simply horrendous, especially for a high-end phone like that.
the sound chip on it is sub-par compared to the original SGS even, with high end headphones i was getting distortions, low volume, and very un-even sound, to anyone who wants to listen to music on his phone this one simply kills the deal.
atrix has a very very good audio experience compared.
same goes for call quality.
and the phone doesnt even have a led for notifications.
also doesnt have an hdmi-out without you buying some special cable adapter.
what does seem to be on its side is a huge dev base working on it and realeasing things daily but the atrix is starting to catch up... just give it some time.
either way upgrading from a atrix to a galaxy 2 is pretty stupid, except for a bit larger screen you really dont get anything in return for all that cash.
i'd wait atleast another year before ditching the atrix. theres simply nothing today that it cant handle so why buy another "future proof" phone when your current one is still "future proof"
Definitely sticking with my atrix <3

i just upgraded this july so no sgsII for me. the galaxy was going to be my upgrade, but it just took too long to come out. also, it's not gonna be the latest and greatest anymore like it would've been when it came out internationally, the sgsIII will probably be out internationally in 6 months since most phone lines get upgraded yearly.
my friend mentioned the PS Vita yesterday and i'm doing research on that to see if it has enough functions to become a phone for me.

I'd rather have an atrix with an average screen than have a SAMOLED that destroys my battery. I have an upgrade available and being 100% honest I'm waiting for a new BB QNX mobile phone to drop next year. The new 9810 with os7 was actually a pretty big step forward in speed and functionality and supposedly QNX will be able to run Android apps as well. Not saying it's gonna be the king of phones but it looks pretty cool.

I have the infuse plus an atrix, while the screen on the infuse is so sexy,, the atrix for me has the total package,, the sgs2 for me is not that much of a upgrade from my atrix, even the infuse for that matter, sure it has godly specs, but in real world usage, even my old ass dinc still get the job done,,
I dont like where the smartphone market is heading.. things need to slow back down. alittle,, before you know it, the atrix 3 will be out 3 months after the atrix 2 at the end of the year, lol

yeah i forgot about that lower rez -- UGH -- why put it out at a lower rez then qHD? COME ON SAMMY.
The newer Super AMOLED Plus displays have more sub-pixels and they do not use pentile anymore which also helps eliminate the "grainy" look. I would still like to see qHD but I don't think there is going to be much to complain about on these screens.

The newer Super AMOLED Plus displays have more sub-pixels and they do not use pentile anymore which also helps eliminate the "grainy" look. I would still like to see qHD but I don't think there is going to be much to complain about on these screens.

I owned an Infuse and loved the screen and the colors, but I would rather have a higher resolution screen. I find the lower resolution something to complain about, although it isn't that big of a deal for some people.
