I am new to Flashing my LG Optimus GT540. I would like to install the Gingerbread firmware located here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969366
I was wondering which recovery file i download as there is a list of them - http://joestone.prisonblock.hu/ It is the same for the Fastbook
I have a Android 2.1 (Official LG Update)
Please can you help me as i don't want to muck the phone up
Thanks
Have you ever used KDZ Updater on your computer with your phone before? If you haven't I'll try to post some instructions. In the mean time download the fastboot ginger0613.zip or ginger0613d2s.zip onto your PC
The D2S meaning, data to system giving you more room for installing apps
Edit; Forgot about lavero.burgos's great Tutorials

if you are stuck in boot loop or having difficulty starting your phone, don't worry, there should be a way.
I have experienced this issue today after flashing wrong file causing my phone to stuck in boot loop. after searching in this forum and after spending over 3 hours, I finally managed to restore my phone and it is now working perfectly fine.
therefore, I thought of making a basic guide to try to resolve such issues. please note, this is a very basic guide to resolve problems with starting your phone, I am not professional but will try to share my experience and help anyone in need. this was done on X10i
lets start:
1- if you have a recent back up and have access to xrec, you can simply restore your phone
2- if you have access to xrec but don't have a backup, try to flash a new ROM
I tried the previous two steps but it kept saying can't mount SD, therfore try the following
3- if you don't have xrec access, use the flash tool
download from here http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G
then flash generic 2.1 to your x10, I used this one http://www.mediafire.com/?sqv6274anzfzn2x
here is the guide on how to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10879528&postcount=3
I have had problem saying "install or re-install drivers", you just need to install the file in the drivers folder in the flash tool main folder and restart the flash tool program
4- after flashing this ROM, restart your phone and root it using the flash tool, after the root your phone will restart, then you need to ask for premession and click xrec to install xrec to your phone
5- before installing new ROM, please make sure that your baseband and karnel is compatible with it (because the ROM you flashed earlier has old karnel and you will be stuck again in the boot loop if you flashed 2.3.3 just like me, then you will need to start again and install new karnel before instaling 2.3.3 ROM or even restore 2.3.3 ROM)
(you can simply install the new ROM then restart in flash mode and flash the new karnel .71 or flash the karnel and restore your backup)
I know that my choices of flash tool version or generic 2.1 version might not be the best, but I used them and resolved my issue and hope it will resolve yours. for any question please do not hesitate to ask me.
credits to everyone who helped, I can't remember everyone because I read quite a lot so please forgive me
nice post my friend
In flash tool I'm getting an error:
ERROR - USB\VID_0FCE&PID_ADDE\5&2BFAB030&0&5
any idea what to do?
it sounds to me that u may need to install the semc flash drivers.. inside the flashtool u may find a folder named drivers, go inside of that folder and install ggsetup.. also do u have pc companion installed?

can you post the log from the flash tool so I can see at which step exactly this massage came up
I am fairly novice when it comes to flashing so here's a pretty dumb question:
I have an X10a, can I use the X10i software that you've linked in your post or is it just going to brick my phone.
Hi,i'm really a noob and i'm here to request help.
I've read almost all the development thread, but I never tried to do something on my own phone. Now I want to simply root it,I have the stock rom with v10k firmware.
Should I use the prerooted v10k or the root+cwm+unlocked bootloader mod? I saw someone talking about installing cwm from the Rom Manager app (in order to install cm10)
I'm waiting for a more stable cm10,now i just want root. What should I do? Flash prerooted v10k,unlock bootloader and then install cwm from the app or just flash the all-in-one mod?
Thanks to anyone that can provide me with a idiotproof guide to this (by the way I use the phone mostly with wifi and 3g)
- Link to installation procedure of a prerooted V10K ROM.
- Link to installation procedure for Bootloader unlock and installation of CWM Recovery.
Try these procedures! It helped me a lot
Ok,I'll try to flash them separately.
Flashing the v10k prerooted rom will do it? No wifi fix like for the deodexed one?
Yes, it will! I did it and it did not asked me to fix anything. It works very well.
I have two questions:
1) If I install the official drivers with the LG Support Tool and then I connect the phone,Windows Update tries to search drivers. What I have to do? The first time i tried to flash,KDZ stopped responding right after i clicked "Lauch Software Update" and a (if i remember the name correctly) mod.cab file appeared on desktop.
2) I have to connect the phone with Media Sync (MTP) or with PC Software? I read two guides on How To Flash Stock Firmware on L7 and one says Software PC,one says USB Storage.
Thanks
It's completly normal to the KDZ stop responding. It force close when it ends.
And you have to connect with PC Software!
Yes,it worked
I was kinda worried to do this, thank you
Hi, I seem to have a few problems rooting my Lg optimus L5. I am on android version 4.1.2
I have tried the Framaroot method, as suggested in this tread. The app opens and I select the Gandalf exploit, as suggested by the maker of this app, but after I select my exploit, the app just closes.
I have also tried the method on this tread but after I open root.bat, it runs a few lines, says there are errors with a few ones and closes itself. I have tried this method 2 or 3 times
I think I tried another method, but I can't seem to find it, I'll post here if I eventually do find it.
Edit: I found the other method(all I had to do was look at my desktop, there was still a folder with the name of the method there... silly me!)
The other method is Super One Click, and that didn't work either...
Also, can someone explain to me what does V20D mean? Is it a rom, a kernel version?
P.S.: Please forgive me for beeing such a noob, but I really did search through the forums (maybe not well enough...) and didnt find any method that works
Sadly, there is only 1 method available to get lg l5 4.1.2 rooted.
Install a pre-rooted firmware (and, that's what v20a or b or d is) using kdz.

Thank you for the answer, could you link me to a guide? Also, will this"wipe" all my apps and their data?
4.1.2 pre-rooted. Flash any one using kdz updater.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275969
1. Install supersu.
2. Install ROM manager, select e610 as your device and flash cwm (or twrp) recovery.
Here's a guide to do the same. (use the rom from the first link, since the link to the rom is broken in the second link)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230679
IMPORTANT : If your phone is e612, download the recovery.img (for clockworkmod) of e610 only. Otherwise, you will get bootloops.
Yes, it will delete all your applications and data. It will delete all the contents of your internal sd card.

God dammit, my phone wont enter emergency mode!
Thanks, my phone is now rooted! Funny fact: My data was not wiped, I still have all my apps, and I have checked with root checker if I have root , and I have, so thank you :good:
Wut?
Using kdz update tool, wipes all data...
How did yours not get wiped?
I guess, flashing a v20 on another v20 doesn't wipe the phone
Hello,
I have a LG Optimus L3 E400GO (Dutch) currently containing a version of Cyanoid along with CWM Custom Recovery.
As Cyanoid is working really, really, really slow, I would like to revert to my original rom and see if I can still use a few common apps on this device.
I am having trouble reverting. I have done my best to follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060121
The phone is recognized by Windows as a media device and is able to work with it, but LG PC Suite does not recognize the phone. KDZ updater keeps telling me "Phone not found" (here I have USB Debugging mode on). The drivers are installed and I have tried reinstalling them.
I am sure that I have the right stock firmware.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
after a sadly failed phone encryption under CM13, I got a "secure booting error" after reboot. I can't boot into TWRP recovery mode now, but luckily, I can still come into the download mode. After reading different tutorials, where they suggest to use LG flash tool and the stock rom to downgrade the phone. I have a few questions:
1. does the LG flash tool only take kdz file?
if the tool takes other file format too:
2. I guess I should not flash the last CM-ROM(a zip file) I used directly?
3. I have the 32GB version from germany (the "normal" version without telecom/vodafone etc.). I found a old .tot file on my computer: BIN_LGD802AT-00-V10b-SEA-XX-SEP-04-2013-32G+0.tot. I don't recall if I used this, is this the right one for my phone. its under D802-tot, but is this only for the AT version?
if the tool only take kdz files:
4. I still need the right version from here. under /Germany/ and /Lollipop/ there are 2 files named "D80230b.kdz", I guess these are the same? additionally there is a "D80220H_00.kdz" under /Germany/" and a "D80230b_00.kdz" under /Lollipop/32GB/ as well. which one should I use?
thanks for your help
Hi, you can refer to this and also this thread.
In my experience: when I had any kind of damage at that level, I always used kdz file to revert to stock and then updated to any ROM that I wanted to use. It is the safest way to install a custom ROM, because you always can find the right instructions on how to go from the stock ROM to a specific custom ROM.
Answer to 4): I would choose home > Xda > LG G2 > Stock > Lollipop > 32GB > Germany[...]
(basically it does not matter because you can update it later; it is important that you use a non-branded one, in your case)
Hope I helped :good: , bye!
