Hi all,
On the asus transformer, using openvpn-settings causes unending tray notifications.
Since I am an big time openvpn user, it was quite annoying.
I forked the original code from http://code.google.com/p/android-openvpn-settings/ due to it no longer being updated, and ported it to honeycomb.
I'm usually not a java coder so there might be some issues.
I've only tested this on the transformer with honeycomb 3.1 with tun build into the kernel, feel free to report any bugs on googlecode or in this topic.
You can grab it from here: http://code.google.com/p/android-openvpn-settings-honeycomb/downloads/list
To avoid any issues, remove the old version first.
Thank you, big improvement!
Great job. Thanks a lot.
Great work mate!

What version of original code have you used? 0.4.1? 0.4.7?
Hi,
Thanks a lot!
Would it possible to integrate Tasker support also? This would be really great!
http://tasker.dinglisch.net/developers.html
Then it would be possible to start the OpenVPN Connection only in certain Networks.

Just wondering, but since Gingerbread is out now: I would love to know if:
a) it can be configured to run on the Wildfire?
b) how/who/when can do it, to make it happen?
c) if there are plans to build cyanogen mod on Gingerbread
Thanks and looking forward to it
You'll have to wait a few weeks as it hasn't been put on AOSP yet meaning the source isn't available. You might see a port of the emulator image on the nexus one as that has been done before with froyo. Once we have source it should(afaik) be a case of modifying the vendors that adeadrat and Jacob are using now to accommodate for the new build.prop etc.

well: I guess that wasn't the warmest possible welcome into the developing world. Hope for you guys that it's not all too rough out there ... I really have fun trying out the different custom ROMs that there are. I would even report bugs, as that's about the only thing I could contribute ...
still am excited to see how the work in Gingerbread for Wildfire is going, since I suspect it will be the last major release that can be run on the wildfire.
PS: This thread may not be completely lost if some folks who are into developing post any announcements on Gingerbread for Wildfire here ...
... have a happy Gingerbread Season!

This topic perfectly answers your questions : [Q]Gingerbread for Wildfire?
I'm not saying anything against you, and you're a new comer, the least would have been to read some topics.
Damn you already ported the gingerbread?! Nice work, How is it? Does it run smoother then 2.1/2.2 or is gingerbread more for tablets then this budget phone.

Jesus, guys. Give him some time.
Good stuff Jacob, hope you get it up and running.
Amazing. Looking forward to it Jacob! =D
good work guys... please refine this rom and make the wildfire a great purchase for all people as it is a great little phone..
Also i don't know if this could be done but can something be done in regards to the resolution of the wildfire... please lol or is there a replacement screen for the wildfire? ......cause i really would like to get another screen and if anyone knows where that would be great.
I only know for the resolution of the wildfire, that there is a pixel density changer (I have no idea if this is any good, but you could look into it if you really want to change it)
hi ,everyone.
this toolbox works well on MS for CM.MS2 also can use it. But some function is not work .For example the overclocking and so on.So,I hope someone can fix it works well on MS2.It is really a good toolbox. Thanks your work.
sw_acer made an app called Milestone2Toolbox, which he is planning to release in english (he is chinese).
Maybe you can talk to him, it is already translated in his sources in his github (KyleTang user) and maybe you can compile it yourself.

Hmm...does that mean that even the current flash .apk file can't be side loaded on there and work?
I've got ICS running on my Samsung Fascinate. I will have to try this out and see if Flash still works.
Honestly though, over the past year, it's really evident that everyone is moving their video away from flash on over to HTML 5. It's amazing how many sites now have made the transition. Adobe did the right thing and waved the white flag of surrender. It's good they are getting out of the way of innovation.
So no love lost for me on Flash.
I am really enjoying ICS on my Fascinate. There are so many little suddle, yet significant, things in there that really make it great. Hands down, ICS is the king of Mobile OSes.
Touchscreen now works. Thank you RaYmAn.
Hey guys
I'm more of a reader than a poster but anyway, I came across a guy that has created a ICS Rom with the help of some guys on here I believe ???
Anyway the ROM is there for download and sees to be pretty close to a finished artical.
I guess go have a look give it a try and if it is as described then Happy New Year to everyone

Ok, thx
So, what the point of this thread?
well I guess theres some conflict here but as long as the Rom works and everyone that was involved gets a mention I'm happy. Surley thats the main thing right give everyone what they want, anyway thats enough from me, happy new year to you guys its there if you want it
Does the ROM work fine?
Any nitz and RIL issues?
All this slating of airbus360. However if anyone bothers to try his rom, it is much better. I've been using cm9 since the first alpha up to the most recent release. It was good, but not a patch on this. Airbus's rom is much smoother, especially when flicking between home screens. Its also a lot faster. So although he may have used Teamhacksung code, he's obviously incorporated a few improvements of his own. Before anyone criticises, they should install it. It's a step up from the current cm9 builds.

This is exactly the same as CM9, except it's not using CM9 launcher and quick toggles in status bar.
So, is this rom fully working? What remains to be fixed?
This is not a development thread, there is no development going on. So, moving this to general.

This is my whole point, if you bothered to install this, you would realise it is not the same as cm9. Don't listen to others and try it yourself. Its much smoother and faster

Noon Question. How to install this so called beta version. Help pls.....
Been using this since last night.
Basically, looks the same as CM9 minus a few modifications, yet the ROM is a lot smoother then CM9.
Battery for me is great, roughly 1% loss an hour. Removed all uneeded apps via Titanium Backup.
Ive noticed one slight problem with the incoming call screen, icons misplaced. BUT, Still can be used.
I've had No FC's either.
I do really reccomend this ROM

Like was already said, not till we have ICS. To add to that though, even if it is possible to make it run on Honeycomb, it would probably run crappy. Chrome for Android relies on the hardware acceleration in ICS for page rendering, without that, page rendering will probably be horribly slow.
