HTC Desire GSM OS - Android Software Development

Hi guys,
Have been using cyanogen-mod and as good as it is, I would like to try something else. Is there anything else that anyone could recommend?
All the best,
Eddie.

Depends on what you want.
I like it fast and minimalistic and that's why I use Oxygen.

You should try a rom with sense 2.1+3.0

yes in my opinion is the Reflex S Rom for desire really the best choose.
Its really fast and have some sense 3.0 features

If you don't like the Sense and Stock Android UI, try the MIUI rom ;-)

Devnull for the Pure Build, Reflex for Eyecandy.

What's the difference between roms???

What's the difference between CM7 rom and Virtuous rom???
Because I'm thing about updating from virtuous to cm7

One big difference is that CM doesn't have HTC Sense, but Virtuous does.
Also, CM is based on 2.3, whereas Virtuous is 2.2.1

Best thing to do is flash and see for youself! Look at the specs of the roms and flash! That's what I do.

I agree. I was doing the same thing as you trying to find the difference between two different ROMs and I found that it was just easier to flash and try them yourself. Plus it was fun flashing different ROMs
I really like Roto CM7 rom So far out of all of all the roms I have tryed and it seems more stable as well as fast. but I am flashing B#54 because it has the tethering in it. seems he has taken it out after that and since I do not have Internet at home anymore... Moved and have not gotten it.... I tether...
Hey,
Well Virtuous is based on the stock rom (therefore it comes with sense). On the other hand is CM which is build on top of vanilla android (therefore it can use 2.3).
If you like the look and feel and the bundled apps of the desire z with stock rom, you will love Virtuous because its just an extension.
If you think the stock one is overloaded and you like the vanilla android experience, CM is the way to go.
In both cases you get a custom kernel with a lot of nice features.
I use CM on my G1 and Virtuous on my G2. And I like both! well more the G2 but that has nothing to do with the rom

Jokerdroid looks like a nice rom. Im trying Cyanogenmod at the moment but im going to try this after cm. I heard much good things about this rom someone stated that it's even faster than Cyanogenmod. I hope helps althought i can't really confirm that this is a good rom.
I'm currently using JokerDroid 4.2 on my Wildfire and it seems good - close to stock looks wise, pretty fast , responsive and most importantly it seems nice and stable. Certainly worth a try.

Can I flash stock sense 3.0 rom on DHD?

Hi
I know there are various custom roms and RCMix Rom for DHD which give you sense 3.0. but I was wondering if I am able to flash a stock HTC Sensation ROM onto my DHD?
just like to keep the stop font and menus. Apologies if this has been raised before, I have searched before posting this and failed miserably..
thanks and appreciate your help
cheers

It isn't possible.
If you for example compare the specs of Sensation and DHD, you will find out that the hardware in these two phones are quite different. That's why ROMs are usually ported to fit another device. There ain't a working Sensation ROM for the DHD yet.
of course not.
but you can try some ported sense 3.0 roms from

Thats like asking if you can run Apple Mac OS on your PC. Out of the box its certainly not possible but 1337 hax0rs have been able to find a way.
I tried the Virtuous Unity port and it seems nice but nothing so amazing I'd **** my pants over it. Sense 2.1 with Sense 3.0 additions seems like a better proposition at this stage to me at least.
you can try using rcmix roms... they have sense 3.0 ported .. it works perfectly too (i am using one) no bugs and very stable ..here is the link

+1, I've been using the ARHD 5.1.x roms with the Sense 3.0 all-in-one package and it's a great way to experience Sense 3.0. I've also heard the RCMix roms are pretty nice as well. I have recently switched to the Virtuous Unity 1.26.0 rom and I'm lovin' it! (Sorry Mike1986) The Unity rom is about as good as it's going to get until and if HTC decides to put out a Sense 3.0 rom for the DHD/Inspire.

Questions I want to know..
Whats the rom called?:
How smooth it is?:
Is it more customizable and performs better than eVil D:'s sense 3.0/3D rom?:
Favorite thing about the Rom:
Who are the developer/developer's?:
And why do you think its the best?:
Please comment all opinions welcome![=

I use Team Royal's Royal Panache. It's based off the canadian version of the MyTouch4G and is a very smooth gingerbread sense ROM. Battery life is great and it works with Netflix. It uses a great kernel that can overclock to 1.8 Ghz. I went to it after Fusion and prefer it.

i was using faux's aosp rom. I'm now running streamlined cm7 and love it. both roms are super fast and smooth. streamlined has just a few more attractive features. clear pulldown, g2x launcher and the cm customization options. flash some roms and see what you like. thats the best way to figure out what you want. i started with iced glacier which was basically stock without the bloat installed from tmobile. then i did royal's version of that. then faux's aosp which doesnt have all the sense features like you would be used too and i found i liked that better. the phone runs so much faster and the battery life is much better without sense roms burning it up.
I just want peoples opinions and see how other people think of there favorite rom. Could you add some screenshots
Nick'sAMytouch4GLover<3
dude you started 3 threads and they all basically say the same thing??? all the info you need is in the development section....
I was trying to delete it but idk gow man

If you want a lot of customization try a miui rom. The demonspeed miui ROM is as smooth as eggs.

It's kind of pointless to throw up a CM7 screen shot, because it's so customizable that I can make it look like any other ROM, including Sense and Miui.
You're just gonna have to give each ROM a try and see which one is your favorite. Depends what you like the best, AOSP, Sense or MIUI?
Btw, I suggest to not make anymore threads about the same subject. You'll attract a MODS attention.

EU hd2 best sense3 Rom?

Which are the smoothest and stablest Roms with Sense 3?

I personally recommend Desire HD 3.06.405.1 - Sense 3.0 - Android 2.3.5 [v1.3][HierOS 1.7.2] by dungphp. It´s stable and with supercharger it´s also fast with about 150mb free RAM in average
mwakiousRUNNINGrom® REBUILD1.0 wifi fixed(k:HierOS,sense3.5)

my favorit
There are several very good sense 3 roms out there. Totally agree that dungphp's, mikhei's and mak's roms are good. I am also planning to try dansta's Runnymede rom which looks fantastic. I am particularly interested in how customizable it is.

There is no "best" rom, Whats is best for us may not be best for you. The only way you will find the "best" is to try them and find out.
