Probably a simple answer, but how can I reduce the resolution if a photo for sending over email? Sending my 8mpixel photos is using too much data on 3g, and 640x480 will suffice.
I don't see this option in photo editor but I'm probably missing something simple!

does the factory Gmail app automatic resize the pic when u attach it to an email? I know Handcent sms app will auto resize the pic to whatever dimension u specify in the setting. Search the market for picture resizer app, i know there are plenty free one out there.
I normally use this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.shoozhoo.imageresizer&feature=search_result
It does the job well and best of all it's free
Picsay or Photoshop mobile will work beautifully!

Is it possible if so how can I enable it?
My girlfriend does it all the time with my phone. You have to download the facebook app fromthe market. Then from within the facebook app look for the option to take a picture. The facebook app will use your camera to take a picture and post on your page. Remember to sighn in to your account in the app.

Oh but there no option to take a picture via the camera option itself and then when saved click share and have an option for facebook?
In the camera set the Review settings to On. Once you take the picture it will show a review of the picture. Press menu, then share and pick Facebook.
I havnt done it in awhile but i know that once you are in ur facebook app there is an option to tale a pic. U might have tp dig around in the app. I tried to check but i dont know my girlfriends password to get into the app.

But you know those iPhone users wish they had a Facebook widget.
Why is that whenever I post an Instagram pic on Facebook, I just get a small thumbnail plus a link to my Instagram photo? This is repeatable on my brother's S3. On iOS, when I post the same on Facebook, it will show a bigger photo.
Is this an Android thing? Or Instagram has given iOS user's more priority?
Doesn't happen to me, I get the full pic.

Try uninstalling and re-installing again.... (Farcebook, and Instagram)
I believe this is due to the sharing settings you have set in instagram, Check them all and it may give you your answer
Let me know if you want anymore info and remember it costs nothing to click Thanks !

Same problem here ..

The way to work around it is this.
Take a photo using the camera not using instagrams camera then click on the photo in gallery and press the share icon and select instagrams. Then resize the photo and rotate.
Select your filter if you want! Then click the top right icon (arrow) and select Facebook.
And there you go!
The way that your getting thumbnails is sending an already edited photo within instagram by pressing the 3 dots and selecting share?
Hope this helps!

So this is my return to android after some time and I'm trying to get my device all setup. One of my biggest pet peeves about Android was the terrible resolution of the contract photos.
I have Facebook and installed the app. I went through the sync procedures to get the contacts matched up and noticed that the photos look terrible. But, I have one contact that had a gorgeous hd pic. I don't understand what is different about his contact info but why can I do to fix the test of them?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Suggest you turn off the contact sync in the FB app and install Haxsync.
I second the poster above. Download Haxsync and make sure to check the 'use high resolution photos' option.

So when I send pictures through go sms the KB's are low which results in blurry pictures sent. I ticked the mark for preserve image resolution and have raised the mms limit high and still sends photos under 100 KB... Through stock message app it will send over 1000 KB.. Any ideas?
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
I don't know anything about that particular messaging app, but you should be aware that MMS message attachments (pics, videos) are routinely transcoded, re-sized, or re-compressed by the carriers. This happens *after* the message leaves your device, and you have absolutely no control over this. The only reason some message apps provide a user preference (for sending) is so that users on limited data plans don't accidentally chew up too much of their data quota.
There are no "standard rules" for this carrier manipulation of your multimedia content - carriers can do whatever they want, whenever they want. And they do. Generally though, smaller messages are less likely to get fooled around with too much (Carriers will aggressively re-size/compress larger images and videos because it saves them in system capacity when the message is sent to the destination handset).
If you want control over how your pictures look - don't send them by MMS. Use any other method.
Definitely true.. But with the stock message app the photo sends big.. But I use go sms as a preference so I was wondering if anyone knew why it would resize so small. On my old phone I changed a few things and the picture too would send big on go sms and now on new phone (gn3) it doesn't.
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
Go sms pro has an option called "Big MMS" if you try to send anything over 300kb.
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
Yeah u saw that. Just socks cause then it gets sent as a link that the person has to open...(if they don't have go sms)... Before I use to be able to send decent sized images and didn't have to send big sms.
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
It has an option for keep resplution in setting take a lil longer to send mms but keeps all the res yoyr pic has

If you're talking about the preserve image resolution it's not working or helping. Not sure why.....
