[Q]TF101 B1 or A1 - Eee Pad Transformer General

I plan on buying my Transformer very soon ( probably today).Should I get the 16 or the 32?
Thanks ahead of time!

16GB yo, save the $100 and buy a $20 16GB microSD if you need storage for media. 16GB is plenty for app installs, I got tons installed and still a ton available

If you have a google music account you shouldn't need too much storage. If you don't have an account you should try to get one (or there are other streaming audio apps).

16GB TF + 16GB Micro SD is going to be cheaper. However, I have seen few offers for the 32GB with the keyboard dock where the bundled price is slightly cheaper than buying a 16GB TF + 16GB high speed Micro SD + KB dock separately. Unless you want the bundled KB dock, there is no point in paying extra for the 32GB.

As a Realtor. I do rely on 8gb, because I took pictures of properties when I go on tours, and forgot to bring my digital camera. Very handy to keep mental notes to what are available, etc.
I use mine as an iPod, TomTom GPS, USB flash drive, and as my photo album (two kids). I am actually bulging at the seams with the 8GB. I can't wait until the 32 is unleashed. I have a 5th Gen. iPod Video 80 GB, but I rarely disconnect it from my car where I have a Premier P880PRS installed. The Tilt simply does it all well.
hmm ic.. i dunno id prefer 4 seperate devices..
tilt for phone
garmin 200 for gps
ipod 30gb for music
sony dsc-t100 for camera :O
I am looking for the ultimate cosolidated device that does "IT ALL". Until then the Tilt works wonders.

I got tomtom map 1gb, iguidance map 1+gb, 6 movies encoded to play smoothly for the tilt 2+gb, all the backup software for the tilt 1+gb, a few hundred song and music videos 2+gb, and a few hundred pictures. I got less than 500mb left. I'll probably wont get the 12 or the 16gb card when they come out. I paid 116 for mine 2 months ago. I'll wait til te 32gb comes out then i'll upgrade. For now i'll just keep deleting musics and movies to add new ones. 8gb gets filled really fast for heavy users.

If you're going to just get separate devices for everything, why not get a smaller phone? The tilt is kind of bulky if you just want to use it as a phone.

Which Model Did You Get?

Myself, like many others, decided that the Asus Eeee Pad Transformer was the tablet of choice. Trying to find one without being ripped off was a whole different endeavor though.
Being as the 16GB version's price has inflated everywhere, and in some places up to $65 above MSRP, I decided to get the 32GB version, which was in stock, and still only $499. I noticed this was the trend in most places selling it, and I saw the $40 difference for double the memory as a no brainer.
So with that in mind, my question to you is, which model did you get? 16GB or 32GB? What swayed your decision? Did you pay above MSRP for it?
Chose: 16 Gb Version
Why?: Cuz It was On BestBuy for 399$ and I had a 32GB Micro SD from My HTC Thunderbolt plus and Extra 16GB micro sd from my old phone. Put the 32 in TF101 and 16 in TBolt. Boom. Got me a 48GB Transformer
Satisfied?: Hell Yes.
16gb from amazon.
32 GB from Amazon.de
not got yet but considering getting the one with the keyboard bundled which only seems to be the 16gb at the moment.
but the way i see it is that if i get a 32gb microsd card and a 32gb sd card for the keyboard bit (cheaper) then its negligable what the internal storage is
32 gb from Amazon.de as well. Trying to find a Swiss-French dock ever since
Will upgrade the Micro-SD as needed...
16gb. Exactly $399 on Newegg.

16GB from Amazon at $399. I figured that with the microSD slot, I didn't need 32GB. If I felt stronger about that much storage, I probably would've gone with a GTab, tbh.
I'm on my third unit now. Aside from the speaker issue and some moderate light leaks, I'm satisfied with the rest of the device. Overall, though, I wish I'd waited until Asus had the bugs out of production.
389 from tigerdirect. I found for most folks, disk space was being consumed by media/movies. Since I never planned to watch movies and only listen to music from Google music, 16gb was more than enough. After a month, I still have 11 GB free on the TF with another 8GB microsd and 4gb SDHC card
Bought the 32 GB here in Taiwan. Got a free 32 GB SD card and an Asus sleeve because of the messy pre-order.

96gigs. A fair bit of it is movies and porn.
16GB with dock at comet.co.uk
I got lexar 32gb class 10 for SGS 2, put it in TF now.
I bought a 16GB today. I bought in store so it was $26 sales tax. I'm not good at waiting. Newegg has them for the same price but I would have gotten it Monday.
32GB from canada computers. was on the waiting list for more than a month for the 16GB version and gave up waiting.
16gb from amazon. If amazon has none in stock it shows another seller that ups the price, buy from amazon and it's still only 399. I stream my music and movies, but the assurance of another 16gb would be nice but meh.

[Q] reasons to choose 32gb model over 16gb model + micro sd card?

Hi, sorry if it's a redundant question, just haven't seen any threads on this in the Iconia forum. In UK the 32 gb model of A500 costs 50 pounds more than the 16 gb one, and 16 gb microsd costs less than 20 pounds. So are there some advantages of having 32gb internal storage instead 16gb+16gb? Can the space on sd card used the same as internal storage on A500? Thanks ahead!

You can't yet install applications on an external SD card, for example. It would be squarely for storing media. So I'd still rather suggest just taking the 32Gb one.
Same here, I have the 32G version.
Most apps can't be moved without rooting the tablet, some still crash if their data files aren't on local 'drive'
Navigation apps with huge map files go on local 'drive' - 4G of space each..
External is for movies, some data (ebooks, cbr or cbz comics, etc).
I got the 16gb but kinda wishing I would have spent the extra $50 for the 32gb.
I have the 32Gb and for sure if the 16 Gb have been present in store i will have bought the 16gb instead of 32 Gb (16 is far less expensive), and it's not easy (for me) to use ALL the 32Gb ^^
after one month, still 23 Gb free...on 27Gb
Thanks all for your replies. I'm curious if apps like dropbox can make use of the space on micro sd. Anyone has experience on that?
Any ideas On my Sd Card problem
I just got a PNY 32 GIG SD Card I'm running the Virtuous Thrive 1.0.1.
My card came pre formatted Fat32 It is showing up on my tablet as around 8 gigs. Shows fine on my computer. Any ideas....
Thanks

I use the external_sd for media storage, backups with mybackup pro, and I set the browser download folder to default to there too. Also can access docs there by rooting the tablet and using usb mount all to fool docs to go into reading the external memory. I have over 100 downloaded apps installed on my internal 16gb storage and still have 10gb free there.

I originally had a 32gb a500, but then found the 16gb for $200 cheaper.
I ended up with the 16gb and purchased a 32gb SD card.
I don't use the tab for gaming, primarily browsing, movies, Google music and chatting. I'm not obsessed with apps anyway.

I kind prefer having cheaper 16gb and put 32gb sd where all the backups from the roms will go and for the media I glued the 500gb portable drive.

I personally prefer having the 32Gb version + 32Gb SDHC, meaning I've got huge loads of storage space on it
I have the 16GB LOADED with apps with a 16GB Micro SD card and haven't even scratched the surface on the internal storage. Don't think the 32GB is a must but if you can spare the coin, why not?

Moto X Pure: 16gb or 32gb?

Hi guys, just wondering if most users here buy the 16gb version or 32gb?
I currently have an M7 (yes, it's ancient lol) and looking to get this Moto X Pure, but wondering if I should get the 32gb version or 16gb. I am thinking 16gb since it has a microSD slot so i can add a 64gb or 128gb card for additional storage.
Will a 16gb hinder the device's performance? I probably won't have too many games or apps. Mainly the google apps, facebook, twitter, etc.
Thanks
32 . don't let $50 stand in your way.
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
thanks, is there a reason to go up to 32gb?
would apps and rom require that much to run smoothly?
I would also reccomend 32gb . Internal storage loads faster than SD card in my experience .
64gb.
64. No question. The more internal space, the better.
Bangin' on my unlocked/rooted

I never filled my 16 gig n5 up and I still l decided on the 32 gig. Future proofing and whatnot especially with Google doubling the size that apks from the play store can be.
16gb. Top-of-the-line 64gb cards often go on sale for around $30, and once android M is out, the difference between internal and a fast external SD card will be minimal. Twice the storage and cheaper than going 32gb internal now

That is my thinking. Android M is just around the corner by the time I get this phone in hands.
64GB MicroSD card with write speed around ~80MB/sec can be had for around $30. Or the 128GB can be had for around $50-$60.
So why pay $50 for an additional 16GB? Unless there's something about the extra 16GB internal that directly correlates to a phone's performance.

Agreed, I'm shopping out cards now and plenty of good options below $50 for plenty of additional storage. I back up often and don't have the need to have to carry large amts of data on device myself. The 16gb was an acceptable and more affordable option for me.
Hi
Hi,
I went with a 32gb with a 64gb sd card!!
Some apps need to be on internal memory to run.
Everything else goes to sd card.
Ken
I also switched from an M7 (love the phone, but it is getting dated) and went with 32 gigs. No particular reason other than a little future-proofing as mentioned. I never really did fill up my 16gb M7 though.

Same here. My M7 with 16gb internal, and 32GB external, still have about 28GB left. Only ROM and apps on the internal, and pretty much everything else is on the external SD.
I went with 32GB internal and an 128GB microSDXC card. I was bumping the 16GB limit with nandroid backups on my old phone, and 32GB gives me plenty of room for apps and backups. The 128GB takes care of my music and videos. Thought hard about 64GB, but $50 for the 64GB or the 128GB external card, the later won in a landslide.
Pls tell me actual storage space in 16 gb & 32gb version of moto x style/pure...
64gb. I believe 64gb leave 53gb open or thereabouts.
I got the 16 gig and bought a 64 gig SD card for $17. After all the nexus phones w/o SD card option I'm extremely happy with it now. Will only get better with 6.0

I ran out of space so quickly with my 16GB N5 that I refused to have that issue again, I chose 64 on the X and will supplement that with a 128 SD, I enjoy podcasts, cache from Play Music and transfer pictures from my sony rx camera to edit and share. Its also nice not to worry about space, ever.
I went with 16gb internal and a 128gb sd card. My tablet has 64gb internal and also has a 128gb card so I'm all set.
The 32gb was in-stock on amazon, and it would have been another 2 weeks though motomaker, so i bought the 32 white, chp, white and love it.
I probably would have done black, red, black. but now that i have mine i see lots of people with the black red combo.
the white back looks great with the white front, way better than my 2013 dev unit with the black front and white back.

Any reason to get the 500gb over the 16gb?

Ordered the 16gb yesterday btw. Is there any reason to pay extra just for the 500gb? Especially now that I heard usb storage and full micro usb support is coming in android M?
I too went for the 16 GB version. There are so many drawbacks to having a hard disk (as well as the cost). HDDs get noisy and unreliable as they age and I believe the 500 GB version is dependent on a working original HDD to boot. SD storage is so cheap now and USB 3 flash can be faster than a HDD and nearly as discrete. I guess if you want a no-hassle out of the box experience and you have money to spare and therefore will probably upgrade before the HDD wears out, the 500 GB model still makes sense. It was good of Nvidia to include a microSD slot despite how much it devalues the 500 GB model.
I'm in the market for one also and this discussion was extremely helpful. I was wondering if there were any extra bells and whistles that weren't advertised, that would have made the 500GB model worth the extra cash. Thanks for ya'lls input.
I own a 500GB model and I can say that until you can actually put your own emulators and other media on there it is absolutely worthless. There aren't a ton of high end games on there either.
Thank you for the replies. The unit I got was a dud but I guess I'll replace with a 16gb instead of pushing to get a 500gb. If android M really lets you set it up as internal storage then it might be worth it.
In my country a 128gb micro sd is $70, while the 500gb model is $120 extra.
Don't get your hopes up about M.
