unless you have unlocked you bootloader, flashing an OTA on a rooted device shouldnt brick it ...... have you tried using flashtool to reflash the lastest firmware?
Yeah i unlocked bootloader, wish i didnt mess about now
Yup tried flashing with a firmwire but flashtool kept on telling me to turn debugging on..
Help anyone ??

Since your bootloader is unlocked ...you could try using fastboot to flash a system.img instead of flashtool to flash a rom.ftf. I imagine you need usbdbg for that too though but
Just boot into fastboot and you should be fine. Flash a new system.img.

Yeah ive tried flashing a new system.img but it still says "now turn on phone and turn on unknown sources and debugging mode"
That's what it says after flashing with flashtool. Have you tried turnung it on after flashing with either if the mentioned ways?
That's what it said both times I've flashed with flashtool and my phone have worked both times.

Did you unlock the bootloader again? Afaik, it relocks the bootloader once you do sbf flash.
Sent from rooted Atrix on 2.3.4 with unlocked bootloader using xda premium app.
I'm pretty sure the bootloader can't relock. Unlocking physically blows a fuse.

At this time you CANT RELOCK the bootloader. Flashing another SBF only removes the "Unlocked" at the top left. But the phone is still unlocked.

They have both megaupload and filesonic.

oops i missed the filesonic link.recently i noticed my phone always fails to flash at the point where STARTING BP INTERFACE is written in rsd lite progress coloumn.after that if i try to start the phone it says modem failed to start(0) starting rsd lite protocol. Is it a hard brick? I had read in this forum somewhere that hard brick is possible after boot loader unlock. i like this phone very much. so worrying so much.

I would redownload the SBF. And try again. Try a new USB Cable. Try a diffirent USB Port. And leave the computer alone while it running.

So i just wanted to root my Note 4 (Exynos variant) using CF Root and it got bricked. The odin started to flash and suddenly it went red "Fail". Phone doesn't boot, I really have no idea what was the reason... USB Debugging was enabled, I turned off Knox and antivir while using Odin, also was running OEM USB calbe, drivers were installed. Phone was running XEO 5.0.1 untouched firmware. What to do now?
see if download mode works. If yes flash stock firmware of your phone.Possible reason could be you downloaded wrong file of other model or maybe there could be a separate file for lollipop

You shouldn't need to repartition, but you can find the full stock rom on sammobile.com. Just click firmware and enter your model number, and find your country.

Its not a brick as it still boots into download mode so its a soft brick. After my experience soft bricks are common and easy to fix as long as you got access to download mode.
Pls Help, im stuck on boot screen "Security Error:. This phone has been flashed..."
Hi, My Galaxy S7 Edge is stuck on the boot screen with caution "Security Error:. This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software & is locked, Call your mobile operator for additional support. Please note that repair/return for this issue may have additional cost." my phone restart and restart at this caution
Yes im rooted my phone, but maybe by me turn off OEM Unlock. So when i restart then i get this lock.
I cant access TWRP recovery (i have a backup this rom on my sdcard, before im root). So
How to i can access TWRP recovery, or turn on OEM Unlock.
At least how do I solve this case.
Thanks for read.
Yes, it's because you turn off oem unlock.
Remember not to turn it off when your phone running anything not official (custom recovery, root, custom kernel, custom rom etc.)
The only way to solve this is to go to download mode and flash full stock official rom and start from scratch.

first of all, i need your firmware, your root method you tried. If you bootloop your phone you must flash the stock firmware through odin .. and then root with a legit way.

i am little bit confused, help me to help you ! Well , now your phone is bootlooped or no? If it is not , what rom do you have? stock one ?
You can try this method as well, because the method you tried needs to flash a custom rom . i do not like that kind of root method . For me first you flash twrp through odin, flash root, better magisk, and then flash your rom .

alright you are gonna need to flash stock rom from sammobile look the link bellow, but first create an account on sammobile . the process will take like 3 hours . after that you flash the stock rom, and boot your phone normally, enable dev option by tapping 7 times on build number on software information, then go to developer options and enable Usb debugging, get your phone on download mode by turning off your phone and pressing the power button, bixby button, and volume up to flash root . i think you know the process . i will be waiting for you reply.
search for your country and csc first. unless if you already have the firmware on you pc.

Hey there everyone,
I wanted to root my s8 (sm-950f) and when I flashed twrp my phone initially got stuck in Samsung logo. After managing to shut it down I tried to go to recovery mode to wipe everything and perform a factory reset but I can not do it. All that happens is I get to s8 screen and it reads in red on top left of the screen "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed" and it keeps resetting itself. I can access download mode but that's it, I can't do anything else. Currently downloading a stock firmware to try and flash it but with the free downloads it's taking its time. Any help appreciated, I really want to unbrick my phone
note: It shows FRP and OEM lock to be off in download mode, i dont even know if i'll even be able to flash a new fw. Do I just have a very expensive brick in my hands now?

This must be a international S8... Did you activate oem unlock in developer settings before flashing twrp
([emoji3590]09-09-18[emoji3590])
I'm not sure if it's international, it's most likely a Turkish version.
And yeah to your question

But you know for a fact that there's a twrp version for your device.... Not good to do these expensive phones like that without officially having all the facts

Well it's too late for that now, I need actual solutions. I also tried smart switch - it doesn't recognize the phone

On the xda thread for your device there aren't no stock roms uploaded to Android host for fast download so you can flash in Odin and start the process of twrp again or just leave it alone you have a S8 it's good money
([emoji3590]09-09-18[emoji3590])
WHEW. Flashing a stock firmware seems to have fixed the issue. Mods can lock the thread.

Just look in your device forum everything Is there however your device is a international cause it ends in with the F so twrp does work for your device..... You just need to find the specific one for your model once you have twrp you can install a android 9 custom rom

I had same issue as you and was pointed towards this thread may be of some use to you?

I had this problem too a year ago but wasn't able to reflash the official firmware, but when I went to Samsung they fixed it for free even though Knox was already tripped
