SMS on Vega with internal 3g? - Vega General

Hey all, I found a great deal on a PoV Mobii (Vega) with internal 3g. Using Vegacomb 1.6, which looks and runs great (Thanks devs!!!!!)
With the internal 3g, is it possible to send and receive sms (text messaging)? I don't really care about calls.
Thank you,
Jeff

Sms voice dictation??

Hallo to everybody.
I am a happy owner of a MDA Vario that changed my life (i guess i'll never go back to mobile phones ).
So, with googleling and the help of your posts i am really satisfied of the HTC i costumized and have here now.
Looking at the tons of features the only one i never found around was the possibility to dictate voice to txt SMS.
Typically while driving would be userful
I saw the Microsoft sw but only helps to send voice mails or mms. But no speech to txt. There is a sw that is a client and uses a server (internet side) to make the real translation but is an idiot idea (here in italy GPRS or UMTS traffic is quite expensive). I saw that a samsung cell has this feature.
Possible that all my googleling missed something?
Ciao to everybody!

Receiving blank text messages, CM 6.1

Hey guys,
I've had an issue for quite a while with my unlocked Virgin Mobile HTC Legend, which is being used on Rogers, receiving blank text messages from one person (who is using Bell). All of my other texts come through fine - I've had a few issues with texts, but none as bad as this - and one in every... 5 or so from this one person will actually come through.
When using my iPhone 3G, they all come through without issue. The application I use for texts doesn't make a difference (have tried Handcent and the stock texting app).
I've been using my iPhone until I can get this sorted out, but the 3G really isn't working well on iOS 4, so I'd love to move back to my Legend.
Anyone have ideas/suggestions? Are there log files I could check that would help diagnose the problem?
Anyone? Hate to bump a thread, but this is really a showstopper for me :\

[Q] SMS / MMS problem

Hi!
Sorry if there is alredy a similar topic for this. I searched before, but can't find any information to solve my problem.
I have an X8 / E15i, with 2.1 running on it.
BTW I've alredy rooted it, but the problem was the same before the rooting, too.
1. I can send SMS messages, but I can rarely receive some. Sometimes, I never get the message, sometimes there is a very big delay. HOW???
2. I can't use the MMS service. Can't send and can't receive, either.
My MMS configuration is good, data traffic is on, but modified the APN, to prevent expensive data costs (not the MMS APN!).
Please help me, if you know some solution to this
Thank you very much!!
Well regarding your problem that your not able to receive SMS - is your internal phone storage full? Do you see that warning in the notifications?
That's a pretty annoying issue Android still has, it also bothered me before...
Incoming SMS never reach you as long as your internal phone storage is full.
Try uninstalling some unnecessary apps and reboot the phone, if that's the case. And then: Wait. I had to wait like 24 hours until all the undelivered SMS finally reached me.
Aaaaaah, I can't believe that. It's a shame, but let's give a try
I uninstalled some, now I'm waiting. I hope it will be OK. Thanks a lot!
That's why I want to install app2sd, but I can't...I did everything they wrote to install it, but it's not working...and after that, my phone can't connect to WiFi.
So I restored it...
edit: my message arrived...you were right....it's a BIG BIG shame to SE
...but I still have the MMS problem...

[Q] anyone knows how the sms app can be launched?

Hello
Does anyone know how we can launch the android SMS app on Honeycomb/transformer?
Thanks
there is no built in sms app on the Transformer because the the TF is only a WiFi device. (3G not yet released).

I have been looking into this myself. My same question. Even though the TF doesn't have 3G, is there an app out there that can send and recieve SMS over wifi? If there is that would be outstanding!
SMS Sync. It will send through your phone. It doesn't yet support PUSH, so it can really affect battery life.
Just install Google Voice using this apk: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11955195&postcount=75 , then send anyone you SMS a text from GV saying, "Hey, this is so-and-so, please add this number to my contact record on your phone or someone you love will die!"

[Q] Messages with A500

hi,
i have a question. I'm really curious if it is possible to have a messaging app (Messages) now that the most roms support 3G which enabled network to A500 devices with a dongle.
Thanks...
Hi there,
It is possible. I am not sure about sms per se, but I know a few months ago some devs found ways to make apps like whatsapp work on the a500. Now they weren't perfect but they did work. Your contacts didn't have user names though, it would only show their phone numbers.
