Are you looking for an Android App or one for your PC?
AFAIK, there is none for Android, but you could try MP3Gain, it's free and open source. Does the job quite well

Yeah, suppose i could mount my SD and scan on the PC but was looking more for an android app to do it

There is none for Android, unfortunately

I use 'Adobe Audition'.
It has a bit of a steep learning curve, but you can normalize, cut, edit, fade, convert and mix tracks.
It is PC software though.

Adding custom ringtone to a contact?

For the life of me I can't figure out how to add a custom ringtone to a contact. It was easy to do with my Nexus 1. Is it even possible with the Atrix without a separate app?

Ringtone does that as well.
Also, if you already have your own ringtones that you want to add you will need to copy paste the files to the ringtones folder located in file manager--> Internal phone storage.

CM7 + Honeycomb Music App = Cloud Music Sync NOT WORKING :(

I reporting back on something I stumbled on yesterdays after updating to the latest CM7 2.3.3 build. After updating I have been removing the sock music app then replacing it with the Honeycomb version. Upon that I was prompted with several permissions request and accepted them all. Syncing then started and I checked that under that under Account and Sync notice Music was syncing. This synced overnight. I put in a empty SDcard in. Then I went in to the Jumper Test that comes along with the Music app started the peer under the Controls tab, Ran a test under the Logs tab ( showed 785 files and the files names below) went back to the music app then went to music settings and checked Stream Music and my music started to show up! Played a few songs no problems at all. Let me know if this is working for anyone else.
*EDIT*
So I guess this inst working anymore. I did test this when I originally posted this but i cant get it to work anymore. Sorry guys not yet
is there a way to access those files from a computer too? i mean since its synced in the cloud, could be really useful.

If your objective is to have your music available everywhere, try AudioGalaxy. it streams to computers, android and iDevices.
How did you replace the app? I tried to but the honeycomb music just keeps FC'ing
As far a a URL to go to on a computer I haven't found anything. Ill post the apk i used when I get by a computer sometime later. Basically I just used root explore to delete the stock music app then installed the honeycomb player.

Gotcha. Did that, syncing now...
So, I have a question..
If you already have these songs on your phone, why would you want them "put them in the cloud", so you can play them on your phone, where they are already???????

So you don't have to keep gigs of music on your ad card. This is great news!
If they're in a cloud they dont need to be on his phone. In return he saves space on his memory card. However, if they're not on your phone they're not going to play when you dont have a connection.
I wonder if running a logcat during sync would reveal where this cloud is?
ah, that makes sense..
although, I have a 32 gig card, so i dont care that I have 10 gigs of music on my card..
Plus, thats a good point about not being able to play your music if your connection goes south...
Wait does this download the songs back into the SD card or does it stream your synced music from the cloud?

2 quick questions.

is it possible to change the sound of the keyboard?
If possible. Is there a way to pull the sound from words with friends?
If not. Is there a way to pull it anyway. And use it for a ringtone?
Thanks

First you would have to find the default keyboard sound. If I am right, I think you might have to modify the system files to default to new sound rather than the original one. I dont believe you can simply swap the sounds. Second, you would have to know what the specific words with friends sound file name is to locate it and copy it.
I am not saying what your asking to do is impossible, but probably too invloved.
Under the the android forums, apps and development section, someone posted an app that they made that can change the system sounds. I haven't tried it out, but pretty sure you could do the keyboard with that app.

Spotify on the Fire

Hey guys,
I just got my Fire and I love it (besides the fact that I feel like I have to sideload EVERYTHING). I installed the official Spotify app, and it ran alright aside from some screen formatting problems (the navigation buttons for the Fire get in the way). The main issue is that the Fire doesn't realize it's a music app for some reason and puts the wifi connection to sleep when the screen goes off so my music shuts off... Very frustrating. Anyone have any ideas for a fix for this. I thought about installing Spare Parts Plus, but I can't find it anywhere to sideload it and it's not in the stupid Kindle App store...
Anyone? I may return my Fire if I can't get this to work...It's THAT important to me that I can stream without the wifi turning off...
you might want to look into apps that keep wifi on since the settings page for wifi is gone in the Fire. I'm sure one of those must exist somewhere. If not it seems like a very trivial app to write. Some sort of wifi lock toggle.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mdsoftware.wifipowermanager&feature=also_installed
Try any of those apps, I'm pretty sure WiFi manager will be able to do whatever you need and more.
The screen formatting problems make it impossible for me to pause playing music without exiting the app - am I missing a way to do that?

It's silly, and really, really less-than-ideal, but using the spotify widget works for this. Toss in a volume control widget on the same screen, works great.
(This, of course, assumes you... have a normal launcher installed >.>)

Nice tip! Thanks. With ADW installed, being able to use a widget really is a life saver! The app is really crippled with the Kindle bar over the top. I hope they come up with a fix soon, but seeing as they don't officially support it, and Amazon probably won't allow it in the store, I won't hold my breath.
I can't get the buttons to show up correctly on the Spotify app itself. I can't tell if it's something to do with the tablet, or something to do with the fact that it's on a modified version of Android. I guess once the custom ROMs are out we'll know for sure.
Giving the numbers and spotify strategy, my guess is a fire friendly version is not far off..sound like we have a workaround for now.

Even if it *is* a silly workaround
I also told Amazon they should try to get it working properly, since, hey, I pay for Spotify, I'd like to use it on here.
Also, the music app that comes on it tends to be a bit... stuttery.
i have been having the same issues. Does anyone know if Spotify works on any tablets?

Sounds (ringtones/notifications)

Hi,
All I was curious what is the easiest way to add old sounds (ringtones and notifications) from older android OS's to the 6P?
I don't really like the new sounds and I wanted to bulk a bunch of sounds into the system from my old phones ROM.
Thanks J
Just save them to ringtones in device memory, easy

I have been using a app called MP3 Cutter/Ringtone Maker. It lets you set MP3 files as ringtones or notification. Then they show up available in the OS.
You can use rocket player to add your ringtone. I'm not sure of other players offer that function but I know rocket player will work.

Are you rooted? Someone posted a zip of ringtones and notifications. I can find the link or post the zip if need be.
I'm using Rings Extended for years now. Small, reliable and audio files can be stored wherever you want.
Just copy your ringtones with any file manager into the "Ringtones" folder in the internal storage.
Same as notifications, just copy them to "Notifications" into your internal storage.
You can do it also with a PC.

Rocket player is a free app and will work for what you need. Long press on the song select ringtone.
I put in rocket player , the app says it cost me money either by credit card or pay pal,
Have I got the right app???

It's not the phones fault, it's the OS not recognizing it as a ringtone. Address it from that point and you might find a solution.
