So i first put a bunch of ebooks on mylibrary and it all worked out fine. I sorted them and everything. Then, i tried to put another book in but it first got downloaded to the download page and then i cut it to the books folder. Thats when my problems began...
It doubled everything! And then, when i tried to put another book, it trippled every book! So, i tried to just delete all books and start afresh but now when i go mylibrary, the ghost books are still there. So, i was wondering if there was some way to delete the data mylibrary has collected and force it to restart totally afresh.

Well, I don't know if there's a way of doing it from within the application, but if all else fails, you should be able to do the following:
Apps > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > MyLibrary > Clear Data
This should clear out the application's cached data, so that it starts fresh next time. If it can be done throught the application itself, that'd pobably be the best course of action, but at least this is an option if all else fails!
Cheers!

I have Clear Temp installed on my memory card. It doesn't clear my 2.1mb of IE history. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately I have the same problem with my phone as well. It seems that even when I shut down PIE it still will not remove it. You can do two things. Go into PIE's options & manually delete it's history (& set it for how many days you want the history to be saved). Or you can do as I do...soft reset the phone & run Clear Temp first thing. That always works for me.
Hi, I have been testing out how MyLibrary works and I have found the safest way to put books on the MyLibrary.
It seems that as soon as a .epub book touches the hard drive, it automatically gets indexed into the MyLibrary app. After that, if you move the book using the folder system, it usually get duplicated.
So, if you go to settings > applications > all and lookup MyLibrary, you can force it to shut down. After that, move all your books into however you sort it (i like to have it in one folder under the series they are under). Then, when simply start up MyLibrary by clicking on it and you have all your books indexed!
I am not yet aware of anyway to automatically sort books into the shelves. :-( I hope they update the app soon with some sort of way of putting it into the shelves easier.
Anybody know what to do here?
Every time i start it, it crashes?
Mine did that at one time. Seemed like it was related to being plugged in to the PC. If you aren't plugged to your PC I don't have good advice, otherwise try disconnecting.
No, I wasn't. *sigh*
I tried going into apps and clearing cache and stuff - didn't help.
Mine too. It worked first day i had it...now it FC every time. Very frustrating too. I've even factory reset, force stop, clear cache, etc. Nothing!!
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
it happened to me twice, and I fixed it both by turning on airplane mode.
Hope that helps
I have had it happen to me also... the first time it was a bad ebook... ball i did was remove all my books and cleared the cache, then re-added the books one at a time... this time i have no clue what is doing it...

Awesome tip...was almost going bald pulling my hair out.
what a pita... thanks to this issue I wasted 2 hours tonight trying other readers, they all suck btw.
MyLibrary workaround
I found some information in another forum, where a member says he called ASUS - which told him it was a problem with the MyLibrary servers. Apparently, if there's an internet connection and the servers are down it crashes the app.
The workaround is to put it airplane mode. I did that and BAM - it will open fine.
Once MyLibrary is running in Airplane Mode, you can turn Airplane Mode off and the app will continue running. So you CAN read and get your emails. The servers are supposed to be fixed soon (within 24 hours of this post).
FYI, I had gone through - fix permissions ... and when that didn't work, cleared the data and cache for the app -- and when that didn't work, reflashed Prime!1.5 and THEN fixed permissions -- and was at my last step before doing a full reflash with a factory data reset before I found the workaround. Boy, I'm glad I didn't go that far
Same problem here. Just tried putting it in Airplane mode, and it didn't seem to help. It's really frustrating. I've scoured the File Manager and I simply don't know what's causing it to do this.
Edit: Wow, I actually found it from checking one more time. It was in a temporary folder in my Nook folder and it was a magazine. Crazy.
MyLibrary crashes on files it can not "understand"
After having several MyLibrary crashing problems I think its due to text files being discovered by the MyLibrary. During some kind of app installation a log.txt was created on the file system. Unfortunately MyLibrary scans the whole file system for books and text files. It chokes on a simple log.txt for example.
Sometimes it crashed not so fast and I was able to quickly open the standard epub Alice in Wonderland (actually MyLibrary re-creates it after you delete it from the file system), and it actually opened the e-book correctly. However it crashed when it encountered the log.txt.
Still Asus should really quickly fix this, because when people have gathered a large library of ebooks and book text files, then it will be hard to notice a "violating" file...
Anyhow, the deletion of the suspected text file really took away my problem. The first time I tried with factory reset, but it didn't work back then. So don't try to do the cumbersome factory reset!
By the way, with ES File Exporer I searched for the suspected file and deleted it.

So ultimately what's causing this is bad programming.

This essentially turned out to be my problem as well. But that is really pathetic. Other programs should be free to create the files they need without MyBuggyLibrary crashing on them - nobody asked it to scan them in the first place. grrr
Helpful tip though.
And what's most frustrating for me - is that I really like the way MyLibrary works. The 2-page layout in landscape mode is the most natural e-book reader I've held.
Mylibrary cash because of corrupted epub or when the name is too long or with unusual character. Copy all your books on a sd card and then delete them from the internal storage. Eject the sd card and then clear the cache of mylibrary and open again, it should work, then you can put your file one by on to see which one is causing the problem. Hope it helps, it works for me.

Or as I said when it looks at a file, which is not an ebook but the config file of another app.
Yes, I also try to eject SD card, clear the caches and reinsert SD card to solve the FC issues.

+1 This solved the problem for me.
Looked at the @vibe app under ASUS cloud, it kept giving an error that it could not connect to the server. After airplane mode if functioned again.

After the update none of my content folders Games, Multimedia, Social and eReading will open. All I get is the error "The application Acer content folders (process com.acer.app) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." The only way I can them to work again is to go to setting and use the clear data button in the Acer content folders application but then I have to back and add all the Apps back to the folders. It's happened several more times but I noticed it only happens when I update an App that I have saved in one of those folders. Anyone else having this kind of issue?
most people have this problem, possibly ACER is still fumbling around with the format in which they store the shortcuts. In fact sometimes it even has another problem, It just displays the label text but no icon, you have to close it and open it a few times to show the icon.
It also would be nice if there is a way to create you own shortcut folders with your names. I have not found anyway to do so for the moment.
Just spent a long time on the phone with Acer Tech Support in Temple, TX, about this issue. This was the first time they had heard about it. The only suggestion they had was a full factory reset which I didn't want to do. So I am now using App Organizer to create my own content folders.

daveheine,
I called Acer tech support today and talked to someone named Joshua who seemed pretty knowledgeable on the A500 and he had heard of a few instances of this issue. He said he thinks it's related to the Acer Media Server app. He said to go settings, applications, manage application, all, media server then clear data first and force stop second. This has stop my content folder error message after I update any of the apps in them. The only issue now is when adding the updated apps back to folders they stack on top of each other. But I found that if you grab the top one and slide it the front of the row it will pop in the first spot in that row and that solves the stacking problem. Hope this helps anyone else having this issue.
I'm having a similar problem.
Tried the media server fix ...."He said to go settings, applications, manage application, all, media server then clear data first and force stop second."...
but still getting the same error.
Tried shutdown and start-up again to no avail.
Saw some similar problems on other message boards, but with no answers
Guess I will have to start the App organizer for now.
Well I had to get it working by clearing all the data (as the previous post) I guess it doesn't take too long to set back up
1. Go to Manage Applications
2. Slect: Applications
3. Select: All
4. Scroll and select: Acer content folders
5. Click: Force stop (if highlighted)
6. Click: Clear data
7. Click: Clear cache (if highlighted)
Exit. Hopefully, this should solve the FC issue.

Is this a stock App, or one in the Market? If it is a Market App, then can you please tell me who the publisher is? It will be nice to be able to create my own content folders. Thanks in advance.

Helped me, also if I lost the already added App Shortcuts, but this was solved within a minute or two.

You can find the Apps Organizer in Android Market, or at this Website: http://sites.google.com/site/appsorganizer/
I know the fact, that if clearing all data on Content Folder fixed the issue, you just have to add all app's again and it is ok. but as soon as you close it and re-add another app it starts again to crash.
It's my birthday and the day of a big problem. So please assist ;-)
Been transfering movie files from PC to Tab via USB/MTP. The process was going fine until the last file to be copied. Then Tab lost connection. Reconnected the cable. Tried to copy the last file. Then Tab hung. Absolutely.
I disconnected USB cable and rebooted the TAB. It showed the Samsung animation, then "samsung" title, some gargabe at the bottom of the screen and .. that last forever.
Well, rebooted once again. Same situation, but screem garbage moved to top.
Well, 3rd reboot and .. whoa, eventually it booted!
But ... it asked me to introduce myself (e.g. enter e-mail, ...) and enter Google prefeences (just like with a fresh new tab). Skipped it (Hacker's keyboard was already not working - couldn't type in).
Then the desktop arrived. My God, it's absolutely brand new. All my settings and icons disappeared.
Went to Applications - they all seem to survive. But don't work. Almost all of them crash when you start them. Some very simple and built-in apps work though.
The Contacts disappear as well. Just like E-mail.
Remember I started this message with that I was transferring files? Well, they're not visible. Even their new folder is missing. But the storage is used exactly to the size of those files. All 10Gb. I tried to delete its parent folder (say, "/sdcard/Movies"). Free storage barely changed (only for the size of existing files).
Well, it's ruined. My lovely and so customized Tab. Damn.
So the very dumb questions are:
- What's that? Broken filesystem? How came? How to check/fix?
- How to save app settings (that's ALOT, include data for my kids' paid games)?
- Where Touch Wiz and other settings actually stored? I suspect there must be a system database (saw an error from "SQlite" when FBReader crashed).
Well, I could wipe everything, but not sure it would solve the filesystem problem and would take muuuuuuuuch time. And we don't have ICS rolled out for Russia yet, so that would be a very time wasting process.
p.s. Titanium backup doesn't start too. Moreover, everytime I install something it crashes again ;-)
You might try setting up your gmail account, the initial thing that you skipped. I'm just guessing, but perhaps you need the account active to use apps that might be linked to your account on the market.
Also, again, this is just a guess, but if your movies are DRM protected, is it possible you can't access because it thinks you are a different user?
Just some thoughts. Quite possibly useless, but maybe worth a shot. Good luck!
Later,
Jason
Go to settings/ apps and force stop Samsung Media Scanner... Worked on mine a while back, hopefully that will fix the problem for you... Good luck!

Something very similar happened to me when I was trying to watch a movie off of an sd card with the adapter. I ended up having to re-flash a stock image through Odin and re tweak everything (Rom, re-download apps...everything. Sucks that I lost all my progress in games etc. but it made me re-evaluate what apps I really used and needed so now it's running faster and smoother than ever. I even decided against using pershoot's overclocking kernel (for now) as everything feels so fresh and so clean, and it seems unnecessary.

Something got corrupted. It could have been app databases like you suggest. Sounds pretty reasonable. I hate to say it but you may want to hard reset and see if the issue persist. If it does persist after a hard reset then you have a defective device
Do you have a nandroid backup of your setup?
