[Q] Exact resolution for a scrollable wallpaper - Wildfire General

Is the correct exact resolution for scrollable wallpapers 427x320 ? (if they are 4:3)
I'd like to use native images for the best quality, with no resizing by android (cropping doesn't matter).
Thanks.

It's 480x320.

[ASK] The optimal size of wallpaper (is it really 480x800?0

I've been wondering about the size of wallpaper for topaz. When we download a wallpaper with 480x800 px in size then we view it on topaz, the wallpaper seems very sharp...but once we set it into wallpaper turn into kinda blur..
Maybe because it compressed to fit the space between the top and down bar?
Anybody know about it?

Its a common issue, newer manila builds allow you to set your landscape wallpaper separate from portrait.

Droid X Widget

Hi,
I saw a video from Droid X were was shown the ability to resize widget’s,
i think that’s very cool.
Do you think It’s possible to port the widgets and the ability to resize for magic? or even the whole rom to magic since it seems very simple and very vanilla like?
Thanks....
If you use ADW launcher, you can do that
Resize
how do i resize the widgets with ADW.launcher? what widgets is possible to resize?
Thanks
This has nothing to do with developing roms.
I'm moving to General.
Resize
Sorry my mistake...

When you add a widget (it could be any widget) a popup will appear with the default dimensions and give you an option to change them. I guess it is "cool" but it purely practical terms it's kinda pointless.
-First if you stretch or shrink a widget without keeping it's aspect ratio it will look awful
-If you stretch a widget all the graphics will look horrid because they aren't are still at a lower resolution just stretch
-If you shrink a widget any text becomes unreadable, this isn't a problem on high resolution WVGA devices but it is on the Magic.
It's possible, but there's a reason it isn't officially supported.
how do u resize it?

Thats way i’ve liked what i saw in the video (sorry but i cant find it now) the example was the calendar, the widget change the organization it self. Its like HTC Calendar Widget, that have the grid, the bar and a event list, but there you can change just by resize, it’s not a simple stretch... if i find the video i’ll post it

Well then you're not resizing, just choosing a different widget in itself.

[Q] Creating Wallpapers

Hey guys I am trying to make a custom wallpaper for my MT4G.
From what i understand, the phone is 800x480.
I have 5 "screens" (homescreens i think they are called?)
so each homescreen should be 800x96 right?
I am trying to make a wallpaper that will show a picture centered on each of the homescreens.
I can not seem to get it working.
I resized my initial picture to 800x96 and pasted it in a 800x480 new image 5 wide. It still does not look right on my mt4g.
can anyone offer any pointers?
The first picture is 500x500
The 2nd is 800x480 as described above.
the wallpaper does not scroll as much as the widgets and screens do

[Q] HTC Wildfire Wallpaper Resolution Issue ?

Hi,
Can someone please tell me when getting wallpapers for my homescreen which screen resolution i should be using?
Reason why is i downloaded some from zedge.net and before hand choose my mobile so it only showed wallpapers that are compatible with my phone.
They are 240 x 320. When i choose to set as homescreen wallpaper it shows a box on top of image althou i adjust the box to it's max the whole image is not within the box so ends up only the image that is within the white box is showing.
I am confused as i have some nice wallpapers but i can't benefit from them as the full image is not shown.
Can someone please advise what resolution i should be downloading them in or should i be doing something on the phone before hand to the image?
Thanks
MR
Use dodol wallpaper maker or wallpaper set and save. I usually have wallpapers of 320x480, 480x640 or 640x960.
Hi,
Thanks Dodol Wallpaper Maker has saved the day
Thanks
I make my wallpapers 480x320 in .png and they always work perfectly, and I'm always able to select them fully when cropping.

[Q] Wallpaper size

I know that the screen is 1280x800, but if I download pictures at that size, I end up cropping parts off when choosing a wallpaper. Does anyone know what resolution our wallpapers can be?

I normally load a wall paper from my browser by holding my finger on it for about 3 seconds in browser (not chrome) rather then saving it and using the wallpaper selector. That way you don't need to crop.
Edit: Here is another way http://www.thetechchat.com/2012/01/...lpaper-without-cropping-on-an-android-tablet/ and another http://www.careace.net/2011/07/01/how-to-crop-size-honeycomb-wallpaper-tab-10/

by default, the wallpaper is a scrolling wallpaper. so if its anything like my galaxy note, you'll want 1280x1600 to allow for full scrolling.
