I dont have such problems with my external sdcard.
All I can think of, is to try and format the sdcard on your PC as fat 32 (BTW what size is your sdcard?) and copy the file to the sdcard with the pc explorer, assume you are using windows as you are running kies.
This will test if the problem is the sdcard or something else, if the card formats with windows explorer the it should be OK.
Hope you get it to work.
ATB

Format the card to FAT 32 via the PC .

Can you mount the sd card on the galaxy?
If not, connect sd card directly to the computer (with card reader) and run cmd. Then use this command to fix the sd
Code:
chkdsk /F [Letter where SD Card is]:
So if my sd card would be on G:, I would write chkdsk /F G:

Ill have a bash at computer fat32 just got a couple of filns transfering ... Fingers crossed thanks for help so far

[Q] Is it possible?

Hey. I have owned my Wildfire for a week now so I am still a noob. I wanted to know if it's possible to install a custom ROM on the wildfire without an SD card so basically do it through USB. I have seen some phones can do it with Amon RA recovery but I don't think it is possible for the Wildfire.
Thanks.
Dont think it is although why would you want to do it without? The wf comes with a sd card

Because when i put my SD card in the adapter and put it into my laptop it cant open the card and asks "do you want to format" and when i choose yes it says "unable to complete format" so im screwed with that SD card
Use paragon partition n look on YouTube 4 a video that will sort it out n will fix that error
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Still dont work its not even showing up on my computer now ive probably ****ed it somehow but on my phone it says 1.83gb free space. weird.
Dose paragon partitioning show ur sd at all if not erm check to make sure ur SD card reader is ok bu using a different SD card
if paragon partitioning is showing ur sd card.
is ur SD card signed as active and does it have a volume letter as these thing will stop I from formating the SD card
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
It showed my SD card then when I tried to format it would only show my hard drive and plus the free version does not let you do anything to the card.
Try Panasonic SD Formatter:
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/index.html
E: Probably unrelated, but, make sure your card reader supports SDHC cards.
1.What happens when you connect the phone via USB and choose mount as disk drive?
2.When you use the SD card adapter, and right click on the SD card's drive letter if there's an option to "open as portable device" try that also try updating your laptops card reader drivers.
3.Use bluetooth to transfer the ROMS?
4. If you're already rooted, try formatting SD card via ROM MAnager.
As far as I know you cannot install custom firmware (a "ROM") without an SD card.
You don't have to use your SD card directly from the computer to install custom firmware. You can use file storage mode on your phone's USB connection or adb to access your SD card through your phone on your computer.
To install CyanogenMod with the help of adb, follow the steps in hxxp://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Wildfire:_Full_Update_Guide and put the update.zip into the root of your SD card with this command:
Code:
adb push update-cm-6.1.0-buzz-signed.zip /sdcard/
You need to have your phone connected to your computer, have the appropriate drivers installed to do this and have USB debugging enabled on your phone. Documentation on adb is available at hxxp://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/adb.html
An alternative way to the above adb method is to enable USB phone storage mode when you connect your phone to your computer and transfer the update.zip file to your SD card.
Hi guys thanks for all your help I have fixed my problem. All I did was use a windows 7 laptop and it worked.

I dont see anything wrong with the title.
I can format the sd using any other tool except to HP formatter.
And yes everytime i transfer my files from 4GB memory card, after removing from the computer the contains of 16GB are not equally the same as to my 4GB sd. For example i copied my titanium(folder) back up from 4GB and transfer it to 16GB the folder becomes empty when.try restoring. Even my music files are automatically deleted after placing the 16GB to my phone. Thats the situation.
But the other files remain inside.

[Q] SD Card damaged?

Hello,
i have a huge problem with my sd card. Currently i have Dorimanxs latest GB (lite version) installed and the rom itself
works how it should, but if i reboot the SD Card gets damaged, a lot of apps are missing and there are a lot of files with crazy names.
I tried to format the Sd card and i think it will be the same next time.
Any idea?
cheers.
Had similiar issue. Test your card by putting in sd card reader connected with pc and run chkdsk command in command prompt in windows.
If doesn't help, download aplication for win called sd formatter and make full format of sd card.
Your problem could be related with some kind of app2sd script IF its in use with your rom or which was also my case your sd card is at end of life span.

You can repartition your sd card correctly in cwm including adding any 2nd partition if required then copy files onto it from pc

Is it a Class 10 or UHS-I device? If so, the standard Nook kernel appears to have a bug. If you reboot your Nook once or twice, it'll probably recognise the card again.
If that isn't it, you'll probably need to get it to a PC to chkdsk/fsck it. If that isn't it, you might need to get a slower card for your Nook.
unfortenutly , my pc isnt working now .......the card work for me for a year ...... just yesterday whebn i open my nook tell me unrecognize sd card :/
and it have a full of important books

Does your Nook offer to format the SD card? Don't let it.
If all the files appear to some device, then don't format it!.
Step one is probably to get your PC working 100%.
Can you copy all the files off your phone to the PC using USB Mass Storage?
What speed class is your SD card?
Does dmesg in ADB show a lot of -110 errors?
See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297800
Recently, I corrupted my Class 10 card.
I switched over to a clean Class 4 card.
In 10 minutes, using adbsync, a makefile and various original directories on my PC I had restored operation to as it was.
Make backups.
u r right renate , i know that all i need working pc and just move all files and format my sd card then move fikes back to nook, or as the other post hear say just do chkdsk via windows consol and will fix sd problem , so ...... i was asked if there way to repair that by nook device it self???!
any way i will try fix my pc as soon as i can ....also how i know my sd class type and what the defferance between this classes ?!!
thx anyway

On our Nook there are two utilities for checking/fixing filesystems: e2fsck and fsck_msdos
The problem is, do you want a system that is having low-level problems with a file system to try to fix that file system?
(The answer is no.)
