[Q] HELP! Stuck on 3.01 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

I am following this guide to root my tab 10.1 retail GT-7510 and after i odined back to 3.01, my market doesnt let me install Rom Manager....Any help is appreciated!
http://galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-hacks/how-to-root-galaxy-tab-10-1/

Kies will not recognize my tab either!!

try on 4shared

Try this version of the market,,,it might help,,,just to be safe though do not delete your current copy of finsky and vending.apk just cut and copy them to a diff folder just in case you want to go back. Once you place them in system/app make sure your permissions are set and reboot, hope it helps.

I had the same problem but i kept trying and eventually it downloaded and install. you can always try downloading Rom Manager and emailing yourself the apk file with gmail and then install it from there. If you need the apk file i can create a link for you.

make sure
Make sure your connected to wifi, should be able to install it, at the worst you can flash the apk file via adb, put your device to USB debugging mode then "adb install rommanager.apk" where rommanager.apk is the apk file you downloaded.

Root Manager Deleted Market.apk!

Alright, so I have a rooted Vibrant on stock ROM. I used Root Manager to delete the bloatware on the phone. Worked great. However, when I used the delete data function, it took out all my apps including market.apk! So I can't get Rom Manager from Kousch to run a Naidroid restore, and I can't get the phone to sync up with Odin in download mode. Is there an update packet I can use to install the stock (with root) ROM with the install packages function in recovery mode? Maybe Eugene373's ROM? Thanks for any ideas.
I pulled the vending.apk out of Eugenes stock Vibrant rom. Copy and paste the .apk back to /system/app.
There's a Vibrant dump floating around the development section. Just get all the missing APK/ODEXs you want back out of it and copy them to /system/app.
Update: Turns out I got impatient and tried the Odin method to flash my ROM. That was a BIG mistake, put my phone into a brick cycle where I could not get phone into recovery or finish an Odin flash. I took it back to a local T-Mobile store and a friend hooked me up with a swap out. I have the new phone rooted and running ClockWork Mod. Will probably not try the Odin route again. Way too risky. Mods can close this thread or keep it up as a warning for novice android fans. Thanks for the dump and spare apk. This will be helpful in the future.
Great job

I found another vending.apk, but I guess they are different because I wasnt able to find some apps with that market on my SGS Vibrant. After I used his .apk, problem solved.
MAKE SURE YOU USE THE RIGHT VENDING.APK (MARKET).
How to find the system/app folder on vibrant, and how to paste? Please,, I'm a noob

Astro File Manager (free)
put the .apk in sd card first though

[Q] nook color 1.2 w/manualnooter flash prblm

I have a Nook Color with software version 1.2 and have installed manualnooter 4.6.16 which is working very well. I am trying to get Flash 10.3 without the boot loop problem. I have read that Flash 10.1 needs to be uninstalled and then a new install of 10.3. My problem is that I cannot uninstall/delete flash 10.1.
Here is what I have tried:
I used used root explorer and went to /system/app and flashplayer.apk to either rename it or delete. When I try to rename or delete, it tells me that flashplayer.apk cannot be renamed or deleted because the file system is read-only.
I used Astra file explorer and went to /system/app and flashplayer and opened app manager then selected uninstall and it comes back "uninstall not successful". When I use this same program to edit and delete the file, I get an error stating "error deleting files". Renaming tells me that I have insufficient permissions (I am assuming that is since it it read-only, but assuming gets me in trouble at times)
I used NookColor Tools and tried to clear data and uninstall and it does nothing with no response that anything was even attempted.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do to get 10.1 deleted or renamed so I can load 10.3?
Thanks in advance for any help you could provide.

I used Titanium backup root to uninstall 10.1 painlessly, then installed the newer version from the market.

/system/bin/
Thanks so much!
Whew! I got it working.
I grabbed the file from one of the posted update.zip files, and once I figured out I had to give it execute perms (duh), it works.
Awesome
I am having the exact same problem. I deleted it from /system/bin/. Im at a lost and not sure what i need to do at this point to get the wi-fi back working on my A500. Any help with a step by step process on getting this fixed will be greatly appreciated? Thanks in advance.
I load the zip file in recovery mode? Everytime i try to transfer the file to my tablet from my desktop I get the following error "cannot copy item - the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected".But when i try to transfer any other zip file, it does it with no problem. HELP!

Wif-Fi=Error= no 3.1.. help! :(

so I had replaced the original WPA-suplicant file so I could connect to ad hoc networks. Had lost the original WPA file. someone posted up a copy of the original. uploaded to tab. replaced the old (Ad hoc friendly) with "original", now my Wi-Fi states ERROR, rebooted PC, same, put in the other WPA-supplicant file I had originally, still getting the same ERROR on Wi-Fi. any suggestions? something tells me I was suppose to disabled wifi before I did that, forgot.. chit..
FIX:
had to hold on the WPA_SUPPLICANT file and select view permissions
check/tick all the boxes in the first two columns and the first 2 in the last column.
Wifi is back ON! (THANK GOODNESS!!)
now to see if 3.1 installs.. wish me luck!
Nope. 3.1 failed to install... OMG!!! >,<
So I dont have my original WPA_Supplicant file.
Someone on another thread posted up theyre original WPA_Supplicant file.
I replaced the old one with his original one.
I did not make any other changes to my tab when I had root.
What could be the problem? anyway to bypass this & get 3.1 installed?
I did similar and it completely f*cked me up.
I factory reset and now my wifi just scans with out anything coming up. UGH.

Here is the fix for your issue..
i had exactly the same problem that you described and this file (original wpa_supplicant.zip) helped and solved my issue..i'm now running Honeycomb 3.1

Here's the WPA_Supplicant from my A500, after the 3.1 update. Hope this works for you guys.
I'm not sure what the extension is for the A500, but I had to add .zip to be able to upload it. Try removing the .zip before using it. Also, remove the 'original'. I added that to keep it straight on my tablet.
Good Luck.
Bob
p.s: sorry i'm a newbie here and can't post any link outside the forum at the moment..

did you change the permissions on the file after copying that on /system/bin?
with gingerbreak.apk, you have to root ur device.(download and install gingerbeak.apk!! is available here in forum)
Then i used "es file explorer" (file explorer with root permissions) from the market. In the settings of the program, go to the root options and check the available two boxes before you copy the file in the system directory.
After copying the file, change the permissions as follow:
you have to check all the boxes for the first 2 columns and the first 2 for the last column; so at the end you should have: rwxrwxrw-
After that, go again on the settings of the program,
1. uncheck the two boxes,
2. go to installed gingerbreak app and unroot your device.. --> device will restart
after the restart go to the system from settings of the device and check if an update is available to your device and download it.. then install
it will work.
Good Luck

Ahh yes, that's it. I remember that originally, but I couldn't remember what the permissions settings were for and that was it!
Thanks,
could someone please post the original wpa_supplicant file? Every one that i have come across in the xda-developers forums i get the following error when trying to transfer it to my tablet "cannot copy item - the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected". If i try to extract the file i get "cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive." Im at a lost so any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

[Q] 0076_WE full image

Hi guys.
I was playing with my rooted device, but something went wrong after upgrading SuperUser from the market and
I wasn't unable to login as root anymore (neither through adb nor through terminal emulator).
The tremendous problem is that in the meanwhile I have got rid of all Lenovo useless apps, but also of Mobility Manager! Without this program I am not able to apply the rooting exploit again!!!
So, please, someone could send me the Mobility manager apk (I was in 0076_WE)? Is there a way I could restore the 0076_WE full image?
Thanks a lot!
UPDATE: I found the Mobility Manager apk, but even if I reinstalled it, the root exploit is still not working! I guess I have to try with a full image!
there aren't full roms as far as i know but you can download your version here:
http://download.lenovo.com/slates/think/tablet1/
Don't know if its flashable again but you can extract the zip files an get the mobility manager apk.

Unfortunately, even if I reinstall Lenovo mobility manager, it goes under the "data" folder not the system one. From there, the root exploit doesn't work!!!
