hi i just download and install americanandroid on my hd2 ... but when it have stuck almost an hour on htc screen on start , is that normal ?
1:30 mins .... do you think is better to leave it more ? or somethink is going wrong ?

That is not normal.. You did put the android folder to the root of your sd card right?
btw, you should try a nand build, much better
yes i put it there , i wont to have both winmo and android :/ i will do it from the begining again ... and now i will w8 again...

Had some trouble with the sd card method usin haret.exe too.. Using a sd card rom, and start it with magldr is easier, but if you want winmo too, You have to do it this way .. Btw, max waiting time should be 5 - 15 mins.. If it uses more time, something is wrong

Ok firstly please be gentle and take your time as i am an older person and am still getting to grips with technology lol
ok basically i want to put android on my htc ht2 so i can dual boot , at the mo it is running windows 6.5 , so could some kind person point me in the direction of where to download the files from and an idiots(well not quite) guide as to how to do it

He doesnt want to "flash" any rom, he specifically said he wants to dual boot and only way to dual boot WM6.5 at the moment is to boot Android via SD card.

1 first install hspl3
2 then go to the sd android forum find the best rom for you there
read carefully .for beginner sd is the good solution.wish you good luck

I don't think you need HSPL to launch Android from an SD.
BUT you need HSPL to flash the radio to the versions compatible with Android.

right now is not possible to put android on phone memory(NAND)
and yes it can be safe if it's made by developer/s who has done that before(see HD2)
and by the way..i can't see the sense to ask these questions because our developers didn't even finish porting Android to run on SD card...but if you can make Android to run on NAND go for it!

oh ryt ok thanks.
i know nuthing realy about porting it over anyway. just managed to get the wifi working, but then when i changed a file so the sd card i got an error message after booting what file do you use?

try to flash another rom to see if the probleme still exist and if so try to revert to wm ...there's a lot of problemes that exist only in android... give it some time
I got an idea...
We should all post about the OP posting in the wrong section...
Which means we are all posting off-topic posts in the DEV area...
Which will solve the problem.

Okay, this is my first and only reply to you.
We have all been newbs, yes, but is it that hard to check all of the main threads of the htc hd2 before posting ? If a person knows how to make a topic, he also knows how to read one..

I used to have the same issue.
Your phone is broken all u can do is to keep it from overheating by underclocking it and only use for short duration of time when using high intensity applications.
I had to get a replacement bc it used to shut down on me at least once a day and then I had to wait for it to cool down before being able to reboot it and use it.
So either try to get a replacement and if you cant just sell it.

okay so basically i woke up this morning and decided i wanted android on my htc hd2 .. i had windows 6.5 which is ****ing horrible . i followed all the steps and got the point in the process where the phone ask you to pick the zip file from ypur sd card .. and then it wouldnt work from there ... someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME.

Ha ha ha ha I sympothize with you Sam, but cut them a little slack man it is their first post.Oh and good to see you posting in the forums again, you are one of the best to guide someone out of a jam they got their self into because of noob mistakes.
Now at the OP, Sam is right we need more information to go on like what ROM you are trying to install, what version of Clockwork Mod Recovery you have installed, what version HD2 you have (EU or TMOUS), and if you have your SD card formatd fat 32 or not. You know spacifics. The more info the better your chances to get a solution to your problem.
lol sorry guys about . but basically when it was a gingerbread android 2.3 rom . well atleast it was was supposed to be , my first thought was that the file was bad because it was the part of the process where im supposed to pick the zip file from the sd card .. the update started then it said installtion aborted or file not found . i think i either didnt downloaad the right rom or i did something wrong during the process .
the site i got the rom download from looked kind of iffy .
where can i get a reliable android 2.3.3 rom or a windows 7 rom because i basically have no idea where to.
by the way im new to this so please bare with me on the lingo and stuff like that .. im basically panicing .

OK that is easy just go to the Android NAND development forums for the HD2. You can find the original NAND Android ROM there if you want. But for real all the ROMs there are reliable ROMs.

Ha well to be honest it is not hard to find if you look for it in the HD2 forums. I mean it is labeled HD2 Windows Phone 7 as the name for the WP7 forums for for the HD2. I also know I will probably catch some flack from other members for linking it for you . But hey what can I say I am a nice guy.
Go to the HD2 Windows Phone 7 Development forums for a WP7 ROM and instructions on how to flash it. I also have a guide link in the guide in my Sig if you want to check it out. Also make sure you have a known compatible SD card to use with WP7 before you flash it as you might run into unwanted side effects if you do not. Go to the HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q &A and General thread to find a link to the thread that can do that. Also you might want to check out some more of the threads linked there as they are very informative.
sorry if posted in wrong thread . actually i m neewbie not know much about rom i m using htc hd2 with dual boot i.e. wp7.5 and sd android . the problem with my htc hd2 is that while turning off the screen it is turning off like an old T.V. . it is happening only in (all) sd roms .. nand rom is working nice not a single problem of screen but only sd roms is giving problem of screen ...... please help me i will be very very very very thankful and thnks in advance ............. for better explaination i have uploaded video here in youtube site (watch?v=idfjBQd27Ds&feature=youtu.be)
