TF3D strange Applications tab : more than 18 !

Hi,
on a diamond i have more than 18 apps links in the application tab on the TF3D... but it sounds cool... but not really cause the 4 more tabs i got could not be assigned to an app.... when i press them i can add some link.. but when i come back to the tab it always show the "+" square...
How to get rid of that ?

Have had this problem since i got my diamond and started tweaking it
you are the first person that i come across who has the exact same problem!
It happens whenever you fill out your apps tab with different apps.. then every time you try to add an app to the new tab that shows up it just makes a new one and so on and so on... really wierd..

But the problem is even for kids !! imagine your son want a disney chanel link in the application tab.. he won't be able to have it... because the square will be only with a "+" !

Yep ! But actually i have 24 for now !!! And if i try to assign one more apps on the last one, i will have 25 ! And of course no application assigned to the 24th...
I cant' delete them, and tried to remove them with diamond tf3d config.. but without success...

Same problem here. I only noticed it 2 days ago. Not really sure what changed on my phone to cause this.
Has anyone managed to figure this one out?

HKLM\Software\HTC\manila\ProgramLauncher
Delete all entries after 17, so 18 and higher including number 100.
You will be back to 18 squares, that can be populated without adding more bogus squares.

i see alot of tweaking requires HKLM\Software\HTC\manilla How do i get there!!!!!?!?!?!?!

Actually, I had this problem back in July! It only happens when you have Diamond TF3D Config installed. If you don't have it installed, the problem never happens, HOWEVER: uninstalling it does not fix the problem.
You have to delete the registry keys mentioned before.
In my case I just did a hard reset because I was just getting acquainted with my diamond. I'm glad there's an easy fix!

Of course the greatest thing would have been if we actually could map more apps in the apps tab !!! But no matter... it comes back to normal !
Again thank you !!! I deleted the registry entries with total commander... but registry editor is good too.

OMG I just held the EVO!! Possible System Dump!!

Some girl at my job had the Evo 4G and I played around with it for a bit. She's had it for like almost a month now. Here are some pics.
I shot a video with my iPhone. I couldn't navigate through the phone that long being that I was almost stunned and just admiring the hardware. It's really solid and feels good in your hands. I have big hands so it wasn't too huge for me. I saw the video quality of the movie "BadAss" and it was sick how the video continued to play in the background while I was looking at other things. No hiccups at all. Very fast.
The maps app rendered really fast and you don't see what you normally see on the iPhone (checkered squares)
Major complaint is all the finger prints but that should be corrected with an Anti Glare type screen protector.
*** I also shot a video on my iPhone. I'll go down later and take more detailed pics. Send me any questions that weren't answered and I'll dig around the phone and answer them for you. ***

download Astro File Manager from the market, choose the home icon in the upper left, then push the "up" icon..you should then be in your phones "root".
Then long press on the system folder and choose edit/copy. Copy that to your sdcard, then from your comp. zip it, n upload it to a file sharing site of your choice. I dunno if this'll help expedite any dev work but it can't hurt to have on hand..(devs please input if more is necessary or desired)

system dump would ROCK ! hard !! would make speeding up rooting this beauty a lot faster

Put it in noob terms because I plan to do this in 15 minutes.

Use a file manager on the phone (Astro File Manager or EStrongs File manager) and first make a folder on the SD card called "dump".
Then navigate all the way up to where it sees all of the files and directories on the phone (just push "up" until it can't go up any further).
EDIT: Make sure and go to settings and select "show hidden files"!
Then "select all" and the copy everything to the "dump" folder that you made previously.
Copy that folder to your desktop computer.
Zip it up with WinZip or WinRAR, and then post it here.
It may be small enough to attach to a post but you may have to upload it to a file hosting site like "rapidshare" or "MegaUpload".

Can't ur gf get a HTC PRO THREE?

I couldn't dump. I tried to dump on a friends SD card but I was getting an error. I followed the directions to the T. The SD card I was using was from my friends Blackberry. I'm guessing it was some kind of formatting issue. I tried 3 times and couldn't get it to work. I'll try again later hopefully if she's still here. She's saying she's going to return the phone to her BF today.

test it out, but a lot of cooks are implementing the new 2.13 base into their new roms.

Normally I can't stand stock ROMS, but I just got a HD2 and it shipped with the new ROM and I actually like it.
ETA: This is also the first time GPS has just worked for me. Like 3 second lock times. I remember pulling up Bing and then thinking I would have to download that nearly monochrome GPS Test program, and then wait 20 minutes. And bam, it had my location already. It seems like everything I need just works. I would have definitely switched if they didn't actually fix the SMS client. Energyroms used to use that awful designed-by-monkeys message client--wait, nevermind, that's an insult to the monkeys. Anyway, who designs a message client that tries to load 100 (Did I even get to 100 messages before it was unusable?) at the same time? Did this lonely programmer have no friends they could text and see how it didn't work beyond 20 messages? Did they expect people to routinely purge their messages?
Dare I say the current client's good? I'm glad I actually tried it out as this is the first time since Sense's entire existence where I actually don't hate the HTC messaging client with this seething rage.

Its kinda a taste to what I think android will become. The same Dev has a few other floating. Apps. Like a calculator.

definitely cool enough to drop a buck and a half on. I played with it for a few minutes and then moved on but when the time comes and I need a couple browsers at the ready Ive got an app for that!

If any developers are interested in how he's doing it, he's registering the app as a service and drawing to the notification layer which also allows you to intercept (and act upon) touch events.
Not saying this app is doing it, but beware of apps that request those permissions, they could in theory log every touch on your screen.

Chrome Beta does much better

Chrome beta scores 350 approx already... guess they might add such feature in the future

That is pretty slick. They have a calculator that does the same thing too. True multitasking here we come!

had this since i read about it on...... where was it, phandroid or android central, one of the two.
definetly worth the money. don't use it that much but its really nice when i do.
tip: leave browser defaults unchecked, so your tab prompts you to choose a browser and you can choose overskreen. its like window's "open link in new window"

Samsung fix the damn dialer

This **** isnt OK Samsung!
When you use the dialer and hit contacts and then Keypad and then Contacts the screen goes black and redraws and lags like crap.
People use the dialer every time they use the phone and its just BAD.
How on earth do you think you will ever compete with iOS when you have glaring problems with the most basic functions.
The functionality is OK but the implementation is terrible.
If you cant make Touchwiz work then maybe you should just forget it and start over.
Oh and BTW Nature themes suck.

That UI 'lag' or 'black screen' is because when you hit contacts your actually launching a new app (although it doesn't look like you have).
Samsung have just created the dialer app with a direct link to the contact app and vice versa but it is still in two separate apk's

I hate the implementation of the smart dial functionality. HTC Sense has vastly superior implementation. The Samsung version looks like they threw something together in a hurry and didn't finish it off. For a start the dialler only shows one result and there's a considerable delay to pop up the full list. Next there's the fact that there's no space key so I can't type say JspaceS to show John Smith and James Sullivan. Lastly there's the bug whereby if you have a title in the person's name, smart dial only finds the contact if you type the first letters of the title and not the name. If I have a Fr Joe Burns I have to type Fr for the name to show, J and B won't work. I wish Samsung could fix this.

I just installed CM10 Nightly on my wife's SII and it's faster to do both than my SIII. I can see the OP's point, really. Just sayin' that there is some room for optimisation there. No question about it.

Samsung really needs to work on its integration. They have good ideas dont get me wrong.. such as swipe to call on the names. But the way to make it all fit together really sucks
